Money can't buy happiness but it can buy assassins
I have also used multiple methods and still cannot access. My only guess is that it has something to do with the attacks on the pool.
Back to my backup pool until I can verify that my work is being credited.

I'm able to access the site and miners are running fine.  You are using www. and not just btcguild.com?

I will be taking down my last GetWork (BAMT) miner today.. Now a full CGMiner Fleet!

Grats! I converted all my remaining BAMT rigs over at the beginning of March. I didn't want to mess with the GPU configs tuning cgminer since these rigs have been running for almost a year now uptime wise, so I just setup a Stratum proxy on a Pi and only updated the pool config. Solid for over a month.

Poor impulse control.
Do you really have to keep getwork? What was the reason behind that again?

A lot of users still refuse to update their miners to Stratum or go through the trouble of running a stratum proxy for miners that have no support (like phoenix).  I'm very hesitant to cut it off entirely (it's ~3.5 TH/s), so I've just been trying to urge users to move to Stratum by making it less and less obvious how to connect to getwork on the website, and by not offering the level of support that Stratum gets (getwork is noticeably less efficient than Stratum on BTC Guild due to overloaded getwork servers).

3.5Thps? Losing that would address some of the "BTCGuild owns too much of the network" concerns.

That's why the 45% step in the 51% plan is removing getwork entirely.

Ah, that's why the idea seemed so familiar to me when I thought of it  Wink

i joiend you. my main GPU miner works finme yet the desktops [i have alot and yes i knwo they not efficent but i got em free] show 'no openGL miner but u can mien on CUDa/CPU'. yet when i do that it says 'nothign to mien on' and 'no opengl found'.

pool doesnt allow nonGPU minign or whats the problem?

If you actually do have GPUs on those machines then try updating the drivers. If you don't have a GPU in those machines you can only CPU mine.

The primary getwork server is basically under attack by a very large botnet trying to connect (connections in the 10s of thousands, all trying to open longpolls).  Working on the problem.  Stratum servers as usual are not being affected.

Mining since May 2011.
Update:  My previous post is still accurate, there are definitely keyloggers out there that will now look for pool login credentials.  However, after talking to a few victims in the last few days, it looks like the compromised accounts had a few things in common, and the one that sticks out the most is many of them had accounts on other pools and Bitcoin websites dating back to 2011, and used the same credentials.  For those who weren't around in 2011, there were a significant number of Bitcoin related sites that had full database leaks due to MySQL injections, and many of them had either plaintext passwords, or unsalted md5 passwords.

I would recommend anybody who has ever used the same credentials on ANY other site (but especially if it was Bitcoin related) as what they used on BTC Guild to change their BTC Guild password.  I'm working on adding back this functionality to the Settings page, but until then you can request a password reset at https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=reset_password

These incidents were what caused me to get serious about using different random passwords for every site.  Bitcoin has no undo button, and there is no one that you can go to for help if you get screwed.  Secure password management practices were always a good idea, but in the bitcoin world, they are absolutely necessary.

Very true. I have used LastPass.com linked with multiple YubiKeys for a couple years now. Very solid service and device. And for $55 it's worth it for 2 factor authentication. https://store.yubico.com/store/catalog/index.php?cPath=6 The YuiKeys also work on blockchain.info if you use that site and I know other sites are getting on board.

@eleuthria... i wanted to know how Asicminer is working on your pool, with which protocol and so on. I found they use stratum with PPLSN. Transactions are shared. The transaction fees arent high yet, mostly under 1% but its an addition to the 25BTC per block.
What i wonder is that i read that BTCGuild doesnt do NMC on stratum even though stratum allows this. I have read here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1733270 that mining NMC on top of BTC can give 13% on top of the earnings. And i have read that mining NMC doesnt need additional hashpower because it only changes the coinbase used for mining bitcoins.
Now im asking myself why NMC-Mining with stratum isnt enabled with your pool. Is there some disadvantage with it i didnt notice or how is it? It seems only bitminter allows mining NMC with stratum at the moment. And 13% more income would mean more income for you too through the fees. Or how is this case?

Edit: Ok, maybe NMC-Mining isnt possible with stratum at all. I wonder why this should be but if it cant be done...
