You report about stale shares? Really?
Your post and this bug has small relation. Probably one or two shares do not accepted for slow cpu miners.
Relax and drink cup of tea or coffee.

it seems the web page has not some, but more delay in showing, top 25, number of shares.....online, offline.....

i mined more than an hour, but didn't see myself online, but after i stopped i see myself online.

Online status counted if valid share submitted in last hour. Top 25 updated with 10m timeout.
For low speed miner is possible what sometime you see offline status.
I will be tune timeouts later.

BTW,  why do you think bitcoinpool not grow? With zero fee?
I can only speak for myself, but they don't have PPS, their hash rate is too low to provide a steady payout, they require a special client, and they whine too much about their efficiency.

I like to make a correction here.
We support any client on our pool.  We just recently added support for long polling too.
We also released our own modified version of m0mchill's miner, it is not required to be a part of our pool, but we would prefer you use it.

Pool software updated.

Due most of miners want score or pps payout model, pool switched to score based payout model.
This model prevent loss for cpu miners and protect pool from timing attacks.
All already submitted shares calculated with 1.0 score and will be paid, when pool solve next block.
There is possible some small bugs due this upgrade, please send your reports.

2) And you miss one big problem - pps payout model impossible protect from smart cheaters.
Actually there is NO risk of cheating if you are doing PPS-only or you have PPS and sharing pools separated.
Only without instant payout. And only for pool operator,  not for miners.
How, exactly ?

1) No one poll operator need a more risks for small fee.
Everybody wants low risk. For a well run, well connected pool with a high hash rate the risk would be minimal to the operator, though.

2) And you miss one big problem - pps payout model impossible protect from smart cheaters.
I don't think there is any way to cheat with PPS. Feel free to share if you think you know something I don't.

The only drawback for pps is that it shifts that risk to the pool provider. Other than that it's win win for both sides. It makes it very easy to client to check that the pool provider doesn't cheat, and the pool provider doesn't have to take any measures against pool jumping. I think that if someone starts providing pps and long polling for a more fair price than 10% they would quickly become the largest pool.

Any price is fair if both sides agree on it and pool owner don't lies about it.
But since I don't agree to it your attempt at nitpicking is moot.

I voted pay per share, under the condition that the price is the same for all models. I don't think those who select another option make the same assumption, because if they did it would make no sense to select anything else. The whole point of a pool is to get a steady payout, and pps is as steady as it gets.
