Ok thank you, I was on a vardiff server that set me to 256 with 2 cubes. Proxy kept thinking the cubes were sick.

Does anyone happen to know what diff shares these work best with? For instance at BTCGuild i'm doing 32 right now.

32 works well for me, and on vardiff servers it will automatically go up to 32, sometimes 64 I have seen a few times, but mostly 32.

It turns out my cubes did not like being pointed at the same proxy.  This morning I did some more testing and put them both back on single proxies (like I had been running) and that appears to have solved the hashing problems I was having.  Doesn't make much sense to me given how fast a machine the single proxy was running on (dual quad core desktop).  Putting a second proxy on an old slow dual core laptop seems to do the trick.  I'm guessing my internal network or traffic could have something to do with it.

One of the boards still is not hashing at full capacity so I'm going to start up a proxy on a 3rd machine and try point that cube at the new proxy.

I did try the -nm option when I was running only 1 proxy and that didn't help (the work difficulty dropped to a 1 from around 22).

=====

Just started up a new proxy on a 3rd computer and pointed my slower cube at it and that seems to have resolved the problem.  I'm not sure what is going on since prior to last night I was running both cubes through the same switch to two different proxies on two different machines.  I put pointed both cubes at my desktop so I could take my laptop with me for the holidays.  Now both proxies are on different computers routed through different switches to my cable modem and both are hashing as expected.  I've got no more time for investigating right now.

I've just had both labels come off my cubes so I took off the fan and removed the labels.  One of the fans was dragging on the label and I had to shut it down.  Prior to the shutdowns, both cubes were running well on high clock.

Now I can't either cube to use more than 3 boards properly.  I've taken each apart and reseated all the boards, took apart and shuffled the boards and cycled the power, cycled the clocks, reset them and I'm about to pull my hair out.

I've never seen anything so finicky/touchy as these bloody cubes.

My advice is if yours are running reasonably well just leave them alone.

Maybe it's just me, but I have had zero hardware problems with all of the cubes I've ordered from both Canary and SSB. I feel like you guys all have mail carriers that kick around all of the packages before they get to your house.

Of course I had to open my big mouth. One of my cubes now has one half of a board all Xs. I'll have to tear that one done and find out what the deal is.

Got both of my cubes today, pulled them apart, all heatsinks were loose as well as the boards not in the proper grooves. One is running great, the other has 2 blades which are half filled with x's.

I realy wish you sent to the UK

0.75+20% inport +20% vat comes out to 1.08 BTC

Its a hassle. I know. I have sold a few things over seas and I won't do it again.
fraud possibility so high with international shipments. Be careful when you ship overseas. Use expensive options with tracking and insurance, and, In that case buying from US doesn't make sense.

Not to mention what happens when you need warranty? In case you haven't been reading the threads quite a lot
of the cubes are having issues. I don't know if its QC or asicminer hired a bunch of those walmart warehouse rejects
for packing.

I have one board that has a row of 6 x's, and another board with 1 x in the same cube.

When I see the chips has gone tango uniform, I've had success with changing to low clock, rebooting, changing back to high clock, and rebooting.

This will usually fix the x's on the 2 boards, but needs to be done at least every 24 hours. Or be happy running at less than 100%.

Also, I want to thank SSB for working with me on getting a cube swapped out. I had one that absolutely refused to run at high clock... it would give me all x's. Great service SSB!

12/19/13 I am out of cubes. Cubes that shipped 12/18 will receive a pm in the next 8 hours. If you have provided shipping labels, please watch your tracking numbers to see when they have shipped. Any orders not confirmed/and/or shipped yet will be confirmed in the next 24 hours and will ship Thursday or Friday. I am changing the payment address for all new orders of any of my products to 14wUQTiS2ZqfXptbiKTEWjRxxkdKUQfNai . I am taking PREORDERS for cubes at the same pricing as before below for shipping on Friday 12/27/13 and/or Saturday 12/28/13. If I don't ship by these dates for some reason, I will gladly refund your bitcoin. All orders are shipped in the order they are received/paid. I may receive the cubes sooner and will ship earlier if I get them earlier. No orders will ship on Christmas day 12/25/13 and Thursday 12/26/13.

All cube orders please pay attention to the following by forum member vnhyp0 .

I have had a few boards get a few boards that are half or full X's and have taken them out completely from the unit so it does not reconnect every 2 minutes. One way that has fixed the X's has been changing the clock to high and back to low. Some boards will have 0's on low and X's on high; I was able to group the boards that would work on high clock setting and the ones that worked on low (i.e. showed all 0's) into separate cubes. I then just ran the boards on low that had X's when set to high, and set all the others to high. Hope this helps some.

To avoid this if you haven't opened yours yet: Take the 4 screws off the front and pull the boards out carefully. Make sure each board has all 4 screws in snug on the heatsink (several of mine were loose), and make sure each card/heatsink is seated completely in the socket (a few of mine were not fully seated after inspection). The sticker on the front of the fan flew off of 3/4 of mine within 10 minutes of running and stuck to a board inside, so I recommend trying to get it off if it is easy to do (else you might have to later after it gets sucked in). Then, Carefully, slide the boards back into the case along the grooves, plug the fan back in, and screw the 4 screws back on, making sure the entire time to watch the LED lights and other fragile stuff around the edges of the card (ethernet, usb, power input, etc.)  THEN plug it in after all that and start mining (Don't forget the fuse!).

I bought 4 and didn't do a through check on them all, and each had some minor issues. The last I've gotten I have checked like this and had zero problems. Hope this helps stops any headaches before they begin. It may seem a bit overkill, but it only takes a small bit of time to save a big headache!

has anyone put a cube on a killawatt meter?    mine has smoked 2 600w PSU's in 2 days....   wtf   Angry

Low=230W; High=340 at the wall (120VAC) measured with a Kill A Watt.  That means it's drawing 195.5WDC and 289WDC respectively from a PSU that's performing at 85% efficiency at such particular load.

What was the rail output rated for, that you had them running off of? Should be at least 30A; these come with 30A fuses so ought not pull more than that. I started out running one off a 500W server supply, but have had two running off a 750W supply (62A 12V) for a couple weeks with only one incident that I believe was a cooling insufficiency.

12/18/13 I have received some CUBE miners with more set to arrive in the coming days. All orders received so far will ship by Friday if not sooner. I still have cubes available in stock for shipping by Friday at the latest. Orders are shipped in the order I receive them and are paid for. I no longer have any BLADE miners for sale. I still have a limited amount of backplanes available and the 49 PORT USB hubs are still available. Please give me positive trust feedback if you are happy with my customer service. Thank you for your continued support! SSB

Any shipping updates?  I would like to know if the 4 I ordered shipped.

I have some more customers looking to buy.  2 or 3 more. thanks.
