Thanks for your patience with me.  I did figure that out.

I used to run BE's on this machine and decided to clean up all the unused Com Ports and USB hubs listed in the Device Mgr.
I was hoping to be able to get more than 13 Nano's to run.  I have 20 right now.
But now Bfgminer won't start.  It locks up.  I think it has something to do with the fact that despite reinstalling all the Nano's I don't have any COM ports listed in the Device Mgr.  They are just gone.  Not even a heading that says "Ports"
Any idea how I get that back?

Get the latest BFGMINER - e.g. from this link: http://luke.dashjr.org/tmp/code/webisect/webisect.php?dobuild=bfgminer
3.5.0 should work fine, no need for bleeding edge anymore Smiley

bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u vs3_nanofury1 -p nanofury1 -G -S all --set-device NFY:osc6_bits=52
Can i write this part into the config file?
what is the correct form for this?
...
"set-device":["NFY:osc6_bits=52"],
...

When I add this in as it's typed bfg shuts down.  If I leave it off they work.  I have 8 hashing at about 2.0 and one at 1.62.

Watch your commas.  If you put that at the end of your config file, the comma at the end is unnecessary.
What about the quote marks?  I copied this into jsonlint and got back:
Parse error on line 1:
bfgminer.exe-ostratu
^
Expecting '{', '['

That shouldn't be part of your JSON config file.  That is the command line executable.  You need to add only the part that Luke-Jr stated to your config file:

"set-device":["NFY:osc6_bits=52"],

Edit: If you want to use jsonlint, you need to copy your entire config file into the edit box to see if your config file is right.

Very steady at stock bits.  Much better quality control than the Blue Furys which all over the place.  Although the average for them is about 2.2 Gh/s.
Still trying to figure out the code to increase the bits.

Could someone do a table at the various different bit settings, of the GH/s vs power consumption please?

I am looking for the efficiency sweet spot to run the NF1 at, not just the max.

jsonlint ( http://jsonlint.com/ ) is everyones friend.  Always check your config file (cut and paste to the form) after making manual changes to avoid "oops"es.

Do any special drivers need to be installed?

Nope. Windows should recognize it as a standard HID device (and use its built-in drivers).

on the various questions:

>Will they get 500 mA or 900 mA?
At 50 bits they should be using around 500mA. At 53 it's around 650-700mA but each device is a bit different. USB3 will provide sufficient power for such overclocking.

>heatsinks may reach over 80C probably means to many bits. Did you use a cooling fan?
I did not use any fan - just passive cooling (e.g. the heatsink). A fan will certainly help Smiley

>Is there tracking information?
On the domestic packages - yes. It should've been included in the email sent yesterday. If you're missing it send an email to the nf1order@ one and we'll take a look.

>sample command line:

>Can i write this part into the config file?
I have no idea to be honest Smiley
Check bfgminer documentation and if you don't find the answer post on Luke-jr's support thread and he or someone else there might be able to answer that.

Good work vs3 you beat most of the other group projects of late, obviously a person that understands BTC diff increases.

Is it possible to run this units overclocked on a powered USB3.0 hub connected to a USB 2.0 port on the PC?

Will they get 500 mA or 900 mA?

I did my tests with this version:
http://luke.dashjr.org/tmp/code/webisect/wr/6e770d6c7c3ffbca03c4a1eaf25cfafc77542fc4-win32.zip
http://luke.dashjr.org/tmp/code/webisect/wr/6e770d6c7c3ffbca03c4a1eaf25cfafc77542fc4-win64.zip

sample command line:
bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u vs3_nanofury1 -p nanofury1 -G -S all --set-device NFY:osc6_bits=52

The last parameter overwrites the speed bits. A note of caution - the "safe" speed is around 50 bits, so anything over that will likely use more power than what the USB2.0 specs permit. No two chips are the same, so the upper limit will probably be different for each device. On my devices it was around 52-54.
Two things have been happening with my devices when I go over the limit - 1) when they overheat hashrate drops significantly - like 0.3-0.5GH, and 2) if the hub can't provide enough power (and voltage drops below 3.6-3.8V) that just ruins the USB communication and the device appears to have disconnect - beware that the bitfury chip will still have enough power (it needs 1V) and will continue to work even though the PC doesn't "see" the device, so you'll need to unplug it and plug it back in.

Please be careful when handling them - THEY WILL BE HOT!!! and especially even more if you push them. DO NOT TOUCH THE HEATSINKS when they work - heatsinks may reach over 80C!

I wish to thank again everyone for your trust in me with this group-buy and I'm hoping you'll like your devices!

HAPPY HASHING! :-)
