is anyone else unable to mine last night and this morning? seems my miners will not connect to the pool.

Which server did you connect to? Didn't have problems with the NL1 server

I was having issues with "stratum+tcp://drk.ghash.io:3333" but now it seemed to have been corrected..

CEX.IO Turns Off Maintenance Cost on October 30th, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (GMT)

Dear users,

Due to the downtime that occurred on past weekends, maintenance fees for cloud-based GHS purchased on CEX.IO will be not calculated for the period between 10 p.m. GMT on October 30th and 6 a.m. GMT on October 31st. The company apologises for any inconveniences that the downtime may have caused you and, therefore, offers you a slight compensation — reduction of monthly maintenance fees.

We would like you to know that we care about our users and are willing to do our best to ensure their satisfaction from staying with us. Historically, CEX.IO has been into constant reduction of maintenance cost, and we continue working on finding ways to sign the most efficient electricity contracts and lower the maintenance cost, which would be beneficial to all our miners.

I think I'm done with CEX and GHash, for a number of reasons:

  • They charge about as many fees as a national bank -- fees for trading, fees for withdrawal of your own funds, and mining maintenance fees
  • The maintenance fees get charged whether they're actually mining for you or not (and whether or not the maintenance fees are accurate or not)
  • The pool and trading platform seem to go down seemingly without any sort of notice, and without providing the community with any real information as to the cause of the issues or of an honest ETA as to when the issues will be resolved.
  • Their customer support doesn't really provide any useful information other than to retort FAQ article answers or to contradict status that was previously related in the forums or in maintenance announcements.

The only way to hold them accountable is to stop using them. If there were other viable alternatives, it would be a lot easier for me to say that this move away from them is permanent. Instead, I can only say that for now they're losing my business and I'm actively searching for something better.

Hey GuyPaddock, we are sorry you are unsatisfied with the service you receive from CEX. We do our very best to provide best in class features and services for our users and our team work hard at supporting clients and we certainly try to learn from any mistakes or shortcomings.

Regarding fees, we charge 0.2% trading fee and 0.0001 btc withdrawal fee (regardless of value) auto withdrawal incur no fee. These fees are not unreasonable or unusual for an exchange.

Regarding cloud mining, for sure it is a lot tougher now than before due to difficulty and relative low BTC price (factors we can't change)we are always trying to keep maintenance as competitive as possible, but we also have to cover electricity and data center costs.

Regarding communications, we do our best here and always try to improve both our response times and quality of information given. We communicate outwards via our support pages, Facebook and in forums. This recent downtime was very testing for both ourselves and our users and we apologise for that.

We do take on board all feedbacks received. We hope perhaps you will reconsider your situation, good luck to you.

Hello,

This is a cosmetic issue with GHASH at the moment. You can confirm your latest block rewards by the visiting your History (CEX.IO) for the moment, you will find the latest confirmed block reward credited to your account. We are working to resolve this, please be patient while we attend to this.

Please let me know if you have any additional requests.

Best Regards,

All, any blocks the pool finds in this period, if your miner is connected and hashing block rewards will be paid.

Please bear with us, more info will follow soon.

CEX.IO and GHash.IO sites are back up and functioning

You also pay all the orphan blocks, your scrypt pool produces? Currently only ANC and FTC are being mined... If you, I'm gonna put all my hashpower to the pool Cheesy

Just noticed, Darkcoin shows some orphan blocks, too.

So how do i know if my miners (1Th Dragon miners) are actually mining ?

It is connected the the UK pool ?? Or should i switch to another pool ??

Cheers

Look in the real time information on dragon it will tell.

I was lazy and had not done it because of ghash always being up, but it's best to have a backup pool aswell.  This incident caused me to set up backup pools.
