Think your missing out on some features of scrypt.cc when you say that it's "difficult making a profit with just the mining part and without referrals"
It's not difficult making profit, in fact, it's just a matter of sitting back and be patient. Profit has been around 0.5% every day. But, with just mining that means it'll take a while to get even, and beyond.
Referrals don't matter much. I have loads of them and can tell you that most (80-85%) never buy any hashrate, and only a very small part buy's hashrate and maybe 1% buy's 1Mhs or more. Maybe if you're lucky you'll catch active refs. It happens.
The real trick of making good profit, whether you've invested lots or just a little, is by reinvesting all of your profit daily. Reinvesting several times per day doesn't make much of a difference, but once a day is far better then once a week. Do that for a couple of months and you reach roi much earlier then by waiting or withdrawing. There are scripts available on the scrypt.cc forum to do the reinvesting for you.
About CloudHashing.com, well, I'm keeping a record of the actual profits of their contracts (or at least my contract with them) in
this thread here. I'm afraid it's headed towards a negative profitabilty, so you might want to reconsider your grade on their profitabilty.
