For people who's not into cockfighting industry for sure they would agree regarding on plan for banning it since they know that it can harm anyone who's actively participating on such they called sports since to many incidents happen that a person get addicted on it create crimes or destroy their lives just because of this reasons.

It maybe hard to fight against those people who still operate this on underground but once the government is so serious on their campaigns regarding on banning this activity to their country for sure they can lessen up the crimes committed by people. So They should really implement this since for me I don't see anything good it can contribute to the lives of people since this is just a waste of money and so bloody sports to take by any people. This maybe a long time tradition but government should put an end point on this to avoid more damage financially to their people.

That is really true, there are a lot of so-called specialists and professionals in cockfighting and they're paid a lot. Here cocks from ordinary people range from $20 to the rich's cocks worth thousands of dollars. The Philippines is not a rich country as well and there are a lot of poor people. At least the sport is already banned in Madagascar while in the Philippines it is still very much alive and kicking with so many government officials involved. Maybe it would take time before the ban takes a lasting effect. However, the implementation should be done thoroughly as well. I remember during the pandemic when gatherings weren't allowed and cockfighting was suspended but there were still a lot of secret cockfighting all over the country. And it was also the first time I watched live and bet since I have a friend who owned a big space in their backyard.

It's just to sayu that this bloodthirsty entertainment should be banned.  However, there are many countries where this is a very profitable business that is in demand by the population.  And it can even be regarded as a sport.  For example, in Madagascar, the cost of a good rooster, trained by a specialist to participate in cockfighting, can even reach $500.  And this despite the fact that the standard of living in this country is very low.  For many residents this is a huge amount. 
And even if the government begins to ban cockfighting, and this is a centuries-old tradition, cockfighting will still not stop, but will simply begin to be held secretly behind closed doors. 
So it's almost impossible to ban it.

The Romans were not the ones who started cockfighting, they just adopted it from the Greeks who took it from the Asians probably from the Persians or from the people of the steppes which were pushed forward into Europe by the other more powerful tribes in Eastern Asia. And I doubt the Romans really spread it into Europe well, it remained unpopular and even died out. Otherwise, the Spanish who were a long-time Roman province, and Magellan's chronicler who himself is an Italian should not be surprised by the Philippine modern ways of cockfighting.

You say that cock fighting is very popular in your country, this cock fight was first held in European countries and reached the peak of popularity at one time but most of the people could not accept this sport due to its deadly brutality. This is why this cock fight has been officially banned. Now this cock fight is not seen as before but in some parts of Asian continent this cock fight is sometimes seen in alleys. But I don't think government officials are involved there.

I think you're definitely right that government officials wouldn't be caught publicly participating in these events I dare say they would have this kind of entertainment in private as well though.

Honestly, I wish to know such country where cock fighting is still popular till now, if you are referring to the past, i may not argue anything on that, but now, there are more advanced games that are used for entertainment than cock fighting, i also don't expect a gathering including the government officials to be involved in this kind of entertainment because they should be the ones to preached against it's use, but that is why i insist knowing the country or locality where this kind is still relevant.

If the cockfighting game has gained such traction where investors, bettors and even government officials gather and also attract valuables from bettors then I consider it beyond just tradition to be a national event and I think someone should incorperate it into some kind of sports where it can be beneficial to the people rather than just have it for occassional and ceremonial displays alone. Has it been considered to be a form of revenue before, thats the right question to ask.

Wihout judging, what do you see people getting from that? Do people in generally care that animals are needlessly hurt? Do you? What it was bigger animals? Like monkeys, dogs, cats, cows or elephants? Would it be as entertaining and why?

And still i am not judging but just wondering what their and your motivations are. Do you realize that anmals can't give their consent to being part of it? It's not like they choose to fight. They are in the situation that humans put them in where they can't escape from and it's basically fight or die. I am just interested how some people see this as entertainement, and how their thoughts on this differ to me. To me this is just a sad and cruel way to see that people's empathy doesn't reach to animals.

It is very prominent in the Philippine province, and I'd say it is entertaining to watch this kind of betting because you will choose which chicken you want to bet on. I personally sometimes bet on this kind of game. Even if cockfighting seems like a traditional way of gambling, it still copes by means of social media. Right now, they offer online betting where you can watch the live stream of two chickens fighting. It only shows that this kind of traditional gambling can still be around by utilising the internet. So because of that, many more people bet on this gambling game because it's accessible and easy to play. Just place a bet and wait to see who wins.

The same goes for me. My late father loved cockfighting and he even took care of a lot of roosters, from feeding them right to making them drink vitamins and some training against another rooster where they are wearing gloves instead of the blade so that they will be stronger when the big night comes. Not for me. I don't understand the joy of it. Maybe I don't like people using animals to enjoy murder as a sport while putting money on it.
I'd rather stick with human fighting sports because it's rare that people die with it. Like UFC.
Even when the online series of cockfighting became a trend here in our country, I never had the urge to bet on it and I don't really understand why. I guess I should be glad that I didn't because I have seen a lot of my friends who lost a lot of money on that type of gambling.
Anyway, as long as the government will use the money for the improvement of the city then I guess it's okay for me. As a gambler we should be responsible and they are old enough to know if they are losing more money in this sport.

We know that each person is really that different when it comes to interest and preference on which it might really be looking nonsense or doesnt have a point on you but for other people then it do really looks interesting.
Yes, this is really that something not really good to look at since it would really be that connecting into animal cruelty on which we know that it is really that highly frowned upon in other countries or corners of the world but we know that there are indeed places which they do look for these things to be quite interesting that this is why they do really make out such dealing or engagement. Yes, even myself didnt really see that solid or valid reason on making myself getting interested with cockfighting even if its really that known or popular here in our country but my interest isnt really that something with this kind of gambling.

If ever i would really be liking to see some animal involved kind of gambling or betting then it would be horse racing or some dog race rather than on having this one which does really involved killing but well just like i said
earlier that there are really people who do really find out for these things to be interesting even if it means or involved killing up each other with those animals.  Each countries does have their own set of games which arent known globally on which on the time that people would really be that wary about its existence then it would be neither be an interesting stuff for them or just simply a meh just
because it is really that against their principles.

Sorry but absolute stupidity is you ask me, i have searched my inner self from top to bottom, and i still have not been able to find anything interesting about cockfighting, what exactly is so special about watching cocks fight?

For instance, when it comes to sports like football, handball, volleyball, table tennis, race and so on, this games all involve human participation and this alone makes it very interesting to watch and even bet on, but coming back to cockfighting, I do not see this as a form of sports since there are no humans involved aside from those watching, the cocks that are fighting don't even have any idea that they  are being watched, what exactly is in this to enjoy?

Anyways, many people have made so much money that they utterly do not know what else to do with it, it is only those in this category that will invest their time and money in supposed games like cockfighting, especially as you have mentioned, government people that don't have to work really hard to earn money.

Here in our country, cockfighting is very popular , it was owned and operates by a most influencing man in gambling. The investors and bettors are came from high class of family and some government officials are involve. the primary purposes of cockfighting is for entertainment and leisure, It can be addictive because of the culture and festivity, to the point that bettors are willing to risk something they value in hope of getting something of even greater value.

Yeah high profile government officials are also involve together with well-known business owners are involved with cockfighting that being handled by big arenas, they are not just doing it for entertainment but they are raising those rosters to aim for big wins, the amount of money that in stake can go up to millions depending from who are the people behind that cockfighting deals.
