Hi there what happen all altcoins and bitcoin is dumping but why? Im panic about that and the coinmarketcap still dumping this is the end of cryptocurrency? Anyone knows about this? A litle worried about what happening now. Sad

Dude that's what we call logic. I know it seems hard is crypto to talk about logic but it's actually something useful that exists for a reason :p

All coins got historical profits in the last month.
Overall the marketcap was terrifyingly high. Every day was a new all time high.
Do you think it can continue like this forever? Of course at one point the price is going to fall back... That's just plain logic.

The rise was too fast, too high and without enough logical reason. Hence the panic and the dump.

Dont drink too much coffee brother because it will really give you nervous. (Just joking). If i were you dont easily panic on these kind of situation which it is a common thing to happen here on crypto. If you do try to look on the total marketcap all over the years since from the beginning you would able to say that it did grow soo much after all these years. Decline on prices are normal so theres nothing to be worried of.

But there is always rise for the last 9 months, almost one year. Now it is time to fall and consolidate I think this fall will continue.

It's definitely not the end of crypto market, but the market haa been struggling for quite some time now. Every time it recovers from a dip, there are more bad news which cause a new dip. Hopefully this phase will end soon and the market will get back to the bull run.

You should know that Cryptocurrency has fluctuative price everytime. Any little issues can make big trouble.
And, i'm doubt you really following Cryptocurrency updates. Already Full Member should not ask something like this. Undecided
Well, I think it's okay to panic when you see a lot of red in coinmarketcap because the market is very unstable with a lot of FUD right now. He just joined Bitcointalk 4 months ago but he posted every day that's why he's already a full member. I think it is the big correction that stops the bull run since last years, it gives a lot of opportunities for newcomers to buy bitcoin.

Well, if you get a news of a storm is coming even though it is far, natural instinct is to fill reserves at any price..this is same with money...when you know you might loose it all you start selling..unless you are like me who had bought coins for the fun of up and down....and always be HODL

I hope the bulls stay for long now

I think they have been awoken already from their long slumber. And it looks like they are collecting and stashing more bitcoins in the next days or so. That's how they are, most of the time they are in deep coma but once awaken, it's hard to stop the herd from flocking into the market. You can hear them from afar.

Nothing to worry about, it's just a natural correction my friend. If you look at the chart of bitcoin from the past few years, you can see that there are always a correction in January, long term is still very good for cryptocurrency. I would be worried if things just keep going up and up without a correction.

Always wonder about that word, "correction" and "correcting" in Crypto terms. Can someone explain to me what makes a cryptocurrency "correct" itself? I am really confused by all of this technical jargon.

A price "correction" is the reverse of a bull run if I'm not mistaken. Most people define correction as a 10% down of the market price, as opposed to a crash which is around 30% or more.

I see, and what are the factors that contribute to a certain coin correcting itself? Bad news and even fake news contributes to a decline of the altcoins or bitcoin or both in general? Why does the cryptocurrencies behave like stocks on a stock market?

Yeah, all cryptos are red now. I don't know what is happening right now why bitcoin price continues do drop. I also feel panic now but I can still manage to control myself selling all my coins. I heard that base on graphs bitcoin price very january of the year really dropped. So I think it's normal now, let's just wait for it to recover in the coming weeks.
If it is true, then there's no reason for us to panic. Let's wait and try to control our emotions so we cannot do decision that we will be regretful at the end. And I think that's the best thing we do let's be patient and wait for it recovery.

It will ofcourse the downtrend is not for long it just a temporary issues that price are currently down. It will recover also if red marks a good to hold. In this event prices will go high again.

why would you panic? you are a full member and i believe you saw something like this before, just calm and wait for its prices to comeback in its normal progress, this always happen and it is a good chance actually for traders to buy discounted coins before it pump again. If you don't believe in cryptocurrency this might not be a good industry for you to be honest. Cheesy

no need to worry. yearly. altcoin and bitcoin thing goes down in January and then as you see all goes up spectacularly. 2018 will be a promising year over 2017 a lot. The current altcoin is showing signs of recovery after a downturn due to the influence of information from China and Korea. 2 major cryptop countries

I don't think it's the end of Crypto
Reasons for FUD:
China banned mining and P2P trading (might be a FUD)
S Korea decided to ban exchange (False info)

Can some one answer the following questions that were asked by my nephew who is also into Crypto:

1. Why can't a coin other than bitcoin move independently from bitcoin? If bitcoin rises the alts drop, or if bitcoin drops, the alts also drop. Why not a coin will just move according independently from BTC and even surpass its value?

2. Will a coin be able to surpass the popularity of bitcoin?

1. Can't? That's surely a wrong assumption. For most of the time, yes, alts are affected by major Bitcoin price action. But there are also times when alts just go on their course, regardless on how Bitcoin is doing. Surpassing BTC in value is another problem. Bitcoin is superior because of acceptance, popularity, adoption, technologically stable, well build, and well tested.

2. Very unlikely IMO, unless Bitcoin development is dying.

I think the dumping is caused by some rumors about negative policy from China government. Actually, I do not think they can Stop the growing of this market.
