I certainly agree with you. Some sports are more enjoyable without commentators while there are also sports that are better without them. Commentators also play a vital role in the game because audiences especially those who are just streaming will be able to understand the game more appropriately even without focusing well on it. They also add energy and excitement. They make the games more lively and catchy so they're needed in huge sports like basketball, football, and volleyball.

Three are some sports that’s I can only watch when I’m not listening to the commentators. For example I get pretty annoyed by golf commentators. I love playing golf but can’t stand watching it. However when I do watch I (almost only because I’ve got a bet on the match) watch it with the volume off as I just find them annoying and they make me want to sleep. Just me though.

Watching football without commentators is like when we watch the GP without the sound of motorbikes and obviously it's quite boring, in football matches, commentators are attraction for us in watching football matches, to be honest, I am often surprised when almost fell asleep while watching streaming football matches on mobile or laptop because of the commentators scream when there was a goal or almost scored a goal and it allowed me to continue watching the game until the end Cheesy

They are there for a reason and that is to guide the viewers and keep them updated about what have happened because the viewers can't possibly follow all the movements in the game. Commentators are so well that they can even see the tiniest bit of details that the viewers needed to know. Sports won't be that much exciting without these kinds of people and the industry won't hire them in the first place if there's no need for them to be there.

But to other sports like billiards or chess where commentaries are very minimal, watching it is still enjoyable if you are into these sports.

Football or sport without commentary is like a nice-looking Mustang without a revving engine. Unless one is deaf or in a less noisy environment, the voice of those commentators, as they give informed commentary, makes the game more beautiful. The same thing happens to me. When at some point I had to remove the sound for whatever reason, the match, or rather the experience I have watching the match, changes completely.

I think what commentators do is to enhance the excitement of watching sporting events.

But I don't know if anyone made a bet based on the comments from the commentators? I mean for example in football after the first half is over and he gives his views on the completed half it will be a reference for people to bet on.

They are not underrated since commentator are also considered a celebrity in some ways especially if you are going into a big league you can hear a lot of good reviews to them. In my country, most of the commentator are also an athlete before and they played the same sports which I think is the best way to hire a commentator since they are the one who have an experience with that sports and they can easily give comments if they are familiar with the sports personally, they are your best savior if you are just watching online.

Correct! They are the one that makes the game so alive and so intense as well, especially if our favourite players showed a good move and performance in a game because they always give a good comments.

So yes for me if they don't exist in any sports for sure it will makes the game so boring.. And it's not fair as well for those who have disabilities such blinds that love sports right? I know that there are some that exist despite of their situation.

Commentators are there for some specific reasons and one of that is to get the people informed and keep updated real time especially when the game is football, the athletes will be too small for us to see even we are watching it live, the commentator will do that job for us to give us the detail on who made some fouls, goal and etc.

Surely these sports giants won't bother hiring commentators if they're not doing any good on the sport.

For a fact, there is a lot of adrenaline rush in sports and commentary makes it even the more interesting. You know, they tend to fine tune your emotions to suit the moment and the next yiu know, your either super excited or you get even sad as, they could be picking on your team pretty hard at times. Today, one of the commentators in the EPL Chelsea 1:1 Evrrton game referred to Thomas Tuchel, the Chelsea manager to have acted like a ball boy by picking balls while Chelsea was loosing. It was funny but sadly, that was it for the moment and the Chelsea fans in the stadium was mostly quiet in the game. The players were playing upto expectations but not the ones that mattered in producing a goal.

That kind of emotion do really make things even more great in terms of experience or ambiance when you are watching a particular game where you couldnt really just ignore that having these commentators
is really much preferable rather than watching a game without having one.It would be totally boring to look at and you could really follow at the same time when someone is really elaborating
on whats happening in the field aside on watching it personally and knowing their actions or seeing them.So i do prefer on having one rather than on having none.

I would never, ever watch sports without commentary. It feels bland and absurd, like food without flavor. Commentary gives your viewing experience some more colors that you don't see unless you're being told to by the commentator who makes the action more exciting and the play more epic. The first thing I do whenever I try to search for games to watch is to see if there is any English commentary. If not, I just skip it no matter how hard I follow the teams that are playing on the said game. You simply cannot enjoy it without commentators hyping the game for you.

Of course we really need commentators for explanations about observations and arguments from each commentator because they have mastered the explanation throughout the game, maybe I won't be excited to watch the match without audio from the commentator it will be very boring.

Yes, they add value and quality of a specific sports that they are broadcasting rather than on watching the game fully without having any noise out of these commentators.
So i would say that its really that important to have one rather than have nothing at all.I dont know on others on why they do agree on having none

All of us are different and maybe those who don't want commentators like to watch the show peacefully. There are really people that are like that but most of all there are people that likes more sound, it makes them extra happy and excited.

Commentators gives information but those who don't want commentators are already familiar with the game and the teams that are playing but if they aren't, they will not be bothered by the commentators and they will look for it if there is no one around. Pandemic have still not ended and there are still no real audiences on a ring or stadium. There are no noise, so for me having commentators are necessary nowadays.

We have different preferences some people want to add a commentator so even though they didn't watch or even aware of the other side that we didn't focus on they can tell to its viewers and also it creates a more hype than the usual game like most silence it gives additional impact to the game itself to catch more viewers to the match itself.
