It seems that there is no need to add to the education about gambling prevention, because it will make them more curious, and for countries that legalize gambling, of course they will refuse, because gambling casinos also create jobs.

What about morals been thought by the parents, ain't that education too? Why the majority of the children don't do against the will of their parents and go do immortals things, that's because they are been thought in a way there wouldn't be curiosity in their mind, ones they are been thought that it's bad, they will are program that way and even if they want to be curious, not all of them are going to think about such and the world will be safe with the few numbers.

Everything lies on the manner how the gambling education is thought and how moderate the government want it to be. It mustn't necessary it must be a harsh class. They can make it sound like civic education on how social right and freedom are thought in school, such classes are fun and hardly student miss them. The can introduce alternative gambling games that are fun and wouldn't in any way trigger anyone's mind to gamble.
The problem with this is that I feel that it is not only from learning or telling children about what gambling is like but in the end we have to limit ourselves so as not to show too much activity in gambling if the child does not want to do it prematurely. It needs to be realized that even though there is learning about gambling including the impact and risks but in the end when parents still do it and show their activities to the child, of course this will actually encourage curiosity to want to try bigger because children are a reflection of their parents and always do what their parents do because early childhood is the age of imitating what they see and observe.

So in this case learning and providing good morals to children is important but it must also be supported by our behavior even though we are bad people but do not let our children see that we are a bad figure with their eyes.
If you are a parent whose really that having that kind of gambling activity then we should really be that careful when it comes on showing it into our kids on which it will really be that normal for us to have that kind of sense of responsibility on guiding our children into the right path. So as a responsible parent then you should really be hiding yourself on letting them see that you do gambling. Its not really that bad to gamble
but letting them see will really be that resulting into such potential molding up that kind of gambler behavior on which we know that its not really something ideal or recommended. We do know that our kids are really that highly attentive on trying out to copy on what their parents are doing because anything that be done will really be that turned out to be right in front of their eyes. If they do saw you on playing gambling then they would really be having thoughts that you are really that doing the right thing that they would really be that normally be doing it also or likely they will follow you. If you dont really like for them to become gamblers then
you will really be that trying out to hide yourself playing in front of them. Somehow there would really be that external things or influences that could affect it out despite on avoiding yourself being seen.
This is why its not really just that trying out to hide things to them but also you should really be lecturing and teach them about the cons or dangers about gambling.

"It's time for schools to focus on the root cause of online teen gambling by implementing gambling prevention education in all high schools. Health class curricula across the nation cover the typical risks for teens such as smoking, drinking, vaping, etc yet gambling education is nowhere to be found in our schools. "

This is what Colby Cotrone said when interviewed by NBC News about the article he published in NYpost about the online gambling trend among teens causing concern because, in the school halls, they can already overhear teens checking odds and their parlays like it's the most casual thing to do in the campus. This is due to the gambling apps easily downloaded by anyone.

When Marc Potenza the Director of the Center of Excellence in Gambling Research was asked whether they were seeing young patients calling for help, he said there is an increase of 90% in young males with sports gambling problems. Either the patient himself or the parents calling for them. https://youtu.be/pCDbvDDLpFg?t=313

What's striking the most of what Colby Cotrone said was that kids are unaware of what they are doing. Could it be that even the grown-up man may also not be aware of what he is doing as over time a gambler may be consumed by how much he enjoyed the thrills of gambling?

Quote
They think they are doing something as simple as rooting for thier favorite players but it's turned more into making money than the game and having fun as a fan. - Colby Cotrone

And would you agree with him in implementing gambling prevention education in schools?

Who the hell is Colby Cotrone? A nobody, that's who. While he has a noble idea and it should be taken up as part of a wider cause, it is not something that can be championed by just one person. It needs all politicians collectively to wake up and push back a bit. We're at a point now where a recent survey said the amount of gambling adverts in the biggest football league has tripled since last year and that was already a high number. It's similar to cigarette companies that used to take up every inch of space that was available and they simply pay the highest, so they end up squeezing out most other advertisers.

Do you think if kyc is implement they would it will reduce the rate at which young teenage gamble? To me it would still reduce because most people often used their parents documents to have access to most of the restricted site or to those sites that regularly asked for verification to have access. Most times kyc is not only the solution for instance just take a look at how some people post here to source for people pass kyc to gambling site so that they can pay to have access to the site, this can likely happened to under age Gamblers.
When there is KYC implementation, it may have a slight impact but it will not be big because this is an easy thing to circumvent and for example as you said because they can borrow parents' ID cards and even hire several people just for KYC to satisfy the level of gambling done and even not a few of them join the gambling money and are stored in 1 account that has been verified in KYC.

This has even happened in my country where when some gambling sites use fiat and bank accounts they always use people who are adults or of legal age and they pool their capital to gamble, although this is not all the same because there are some people who also use older people who are not very tech savvy to do KYC but in the end this really happens where even if KYC is implemented it will not have a bigger impact because there are always ways to circumvent it.

In my locality where I reside gambling among teenagers is normalized it makes me wonder how we have gotten so nonchalant about this, teens that are not up to 18 have access to gamble online and the ones that don't gamble in a land based center..The internet is accessible by everyone now, you cannot control or regulate what teenagers do with their phones...some of them are negatively influenced by gambling adverts they come across online, this fake adverts might make them want to give it a try just because they want to get rich quick.. just like you said kyc should be implemented by every betting site or casinos to reduce this catastrophe
Just like in your area, I also live in a vicinity where underage teens who are yet to reach the legal age for gamblers engage in gambling activities. I think the major reason why it happens here is because of the poor parenting from the parents and guidance of these young teens who's failed in their duty to sensitize them about the dangers of gambling as an underage. Again, they're allowed to used the Internet without being regulated by adults and that gives them the opportunity of gambling everything they feel like doing online even when it's not ideal for them. If KYC can be implemented by these gambling companies, I think it'll help in regulating the age of gamblers instead of allowing everyone to gamble freely.

This teen gambling addiction only gives the government another reason for KYC which they may have to ban access to online casinos that won't comply. It's beneficial to produce quality youth for a country and I guess it's fair to enforce strict KYC laws.

For some people who are not up to submitting KYC, they just have to find ways in which casinos they may want to play.  Those who are looking for a way to maneuver the laws I guess are not teens anymore and would be wiser.

Ur points are valid, the wisdom  of children  these days are becoming  increasingly amazing, if they get restricted by KYC they might look for a possible solution  within a short period of time based on  their curiosity. And using their parents ID for verification might be really easy  for them to access without getting caught, but it would be quite impossible if the KYC  requires  a live face capturing. I believe  kyc in casinos and gambling platform  will  reduce the rate at which  underage children  gambling on online gambling platforms, not all children  are as smart as we think and some might get caught by their guardians and restricted from accessing the internet.

If we talk honestly, KYC is actually quite a hindrance for children to be able to play gambling in online casinos because not all children can fake their identity, I think this is quite helpful, but the worse thing is with casinos that do not set KYC and anyone can access it, I myself often find many illegal casinos or do not apply KYC in their casinos, and the average child of them does not care about the regulation or license of a casino or talk about casino security and fairness, because in their mind is to play and multiply their money in gambling, finding a random online gambling site on Google they will register.
This situation is concerning and it's now beyond whether or not the casino is requesting their customers to complete the KYC, many teenagers might have used the delayed KYC request to gamble, while some would even beg their senior friends for IDs or buy verified accounts online. This proved that every teenager could have access to gambling one way or another, which is so sad. It's beyond stealing their parents' identities, the internet/world is now porous, I hope those operating casino/sportsbook illegality can be clamped down on.

Even at that, the decentralized system nowadays is not helping, so if the government clamps down on the no-KYC casinos, what about those who are decentralised? They may clamp down on them as well but this will entail a huge sacrifice since they operate without the control of any government. By virtue, if the world government does not cooperate in this regard, there's little any interested government can do because the decentralised casinos will easily move their domain to a supportive country and continue with their illegal operation.

Advice: Let parents be up to the task of parenting, it will drastically reduce the menace among our teenagers.

That's the bad side of online gambling, you can't really control the users you get, even with the under 18 rule, teenagers can just lie and still get access to gambleing features, I think they have to get more strict and find better ways to keep teenagers off gambling sites, maybe by taking some birth certificate as part of their kyc verification, I think that would reduce the amount if teenagers in online casino.
Exactly, the internet now is too powerful, and even young people can navigate the internet well and can bypass a lot of things, and one of them is online gambling. It's true that many younger people are being exposed to gambling because right now the internet or social media are open to this, and we know a lot of young people are already on social media. No matter what guidance a parent will give, they can't look out for or guide their children's 24/7, so there's still a moment where a child could explore for itself and be in a bad influence.

That's why KYC is very important now for an online casino because in that way a platform could determine what age their customer is. I know it can also be bypassed, but I think there should be more adjustment or another layer of validation before a user could actually sign up and play on a gambling platform.

It is not unusual for many children to be able to outsmart things that they could not do before, this is the encouragement of increasingly developing technology and they themselves are already familiar with current technology that makes many things easier. Is it possible that this happens because of the lack of supervision from their parents, because of course parents will not be able to supervise their children all day long because they must have their own activities, so parents have no choice but to let go of their supervision of their children.
There is no doubt that there are currently many illegal casinos operating even in countries that actually prohibit gambling, in fact I think it is only natural that many still access it even though it is prohibited in their country because of the lack of strict supervision by the government, maybe the government has even issued a warning but that does not stop people from gambling online.

Yes, maybe this is what is meant by the negative impact of technological developments. when children do not get good supervision from their parents and with a high sense of curiosity from a teenager, it is certainly easy to access online gambling. for land-based casinos, I think teenagers will definitely have problems getting in. but for online gambling, everything can be tricked by the intelligence of children related to technology today.

For some reason, I think telling teenagers is more difficult than people the same age as us or older. they are teenagers who have their thoughts that must be done without interference from others. it's just that with gambling activities at their age, it is very risky to cause other crimes. that's what I'm afraid of.
The negative part will always exist when something develops more and to overcome this weakness, society needs optimizations to compensate and balance, as described currently, technology is helping to increase comfort with users, especially the young generation but the scary thing about technology is that it makes users dependent as well as the content it sends. But with these reports, the education part should also improve as well as the level of interest of adults with teenagers needs to have more standards than in the past.

Have you seen many teens that gamble? I understand that is hard to check it, as teens will never confess that they gamble, nor it is easy to catch them during playing, but overall, has anyone ever seen a teen in a casino, or saw them placing bets using their mobiles? I did not have a goal to find a gambling teen, but I have never seen one around. What I usually see, is that teens watch instagram or tiktok video, laugh about it, and keep swiping for a new video.
Yeah, it is hard to check and know how many teens gamble because with using the Internet, they can hide their gambling activity. Their parents also doesn't know if their children gambling until they see their children have a problem with their gambling habit. They can go to a place and sit in the back with their friends but they open their smartphone and browse the casino. But I already seen some people playing together in a home in the night where I came back from my office. They looks enjoy playing slot game because I see what they played. I don't ask too much to them but I know that they are above 18 but under 25 years. I still consider that they often playing slot games with their friends and if they don't have control, that will makes them in a difficult situation.

Gambling amongst kids could be more of real competitions with friends, than online casinos. Subsequently, they now begin to wager online when their peers are not close or nearby. But since the requirement for kyc is getting strict on underaged players, teenagers easily gamble with cards games in school during break time. Because they'll want to double their money. However, I've read of children that convinces their grown relatives to stand for them regarding KYC. Which is quite degenerating on the adult's end, for accepting to do such for a younger sibling.

Well, even if the casino allows to play without KYC, most would not allow the children (the players) to withdraw unless they do the KYC. If you want to stop the teens and children from accessing the casino, the first restrictions should come from the parents and only depend on the casino to filter out teens on the basis of KYC.

I can give you the example here where a kid or a teem can only gamble if his parents give him the money to gamble. KYC is a later thing, how come the parents give the children access to the laptop and the money to gamble? In many cases, children play from their parents account and the parents know about it. So, i would blame the parents for not stopping them from gambling and later when something bad happens, they blame the casino's policies etc.

I think even though the casino provides KYC as a requirement to be able to participate in the game or to be able to make a withdrawal when a minor wins a number of wins, there are still other possibilities that they can do, such as using their family members' personal data secretly or asking for help from one of their older friends to solve the problem so that they can participate in the game or to be able to make a withdrawal.

Basically, if we talk about it, there are actually many possibilities that a child can do, and in the end, of course, for this restriction issue, it should actually go back to their parents, because other people will not care about your safety unless you yourself apply various restrictions.

In the case you mentioned, I can say that this case also often occurs in my area, and with the development of the era that is now increasingly sophisticated, along with the gambling industry that has now entered social media in promotional practices, I think parents should know about these concerns so that they can limit all access that can connect a child to gambling.

However, minors these days know how to go around such requirement, like they can borrow ID cards from their older siblings or sneak the IDs from their parents. That is why you need to instill values to your kids at their early age. This will be your weapon even if you are not around.

Do remember, illegal casinos will always be there. They will only stop their operations when someone reported them and forced to shut down their site. But as long as they can do their business, they will.

Well, I personally have come across a teen, a 15 years old boy who save up money he was being given for snacks by his parent when ever he was leaving for school without breakfast, this boy saved up the money and when it was tangible enough, a friend who was also a teen though older, lead him to where he used the money to play lotto, it's popularly referred to as "baba ijebu" here in my country.

Luckily for the boy, the numbers he selected played and he won over $30,000, but unfortunately, he died few minutes after learning about his win.
What happened was that, after seeing that the numbers he selected played, and was told how much he won, he literally went out of his mind, he started shouting on top of his voice jumping up and down, when some people there tried to get hold of him, he ran away, he took off his shirt and short, ran around necked wearing only boxers(inner pants), eventually he ran into the express and a bus at a top speed knocked him down, he died on the way while he was being rushed to the hospital.

Teens do gamble for sure, the fact you have not seen one does not rule away the fact that teens gamble, and it's not good for them since their brains are not yet developed enough for the surprises that comes with gambling.

In this era of the internet, teens and even the underaged have access to it, it's just to have access to a mobile device that is connected online and they can access whatever they want. I don't think that there is a data that can accurately capture the exact number of teens that gambles. The problem with teen gambling especially those that are below 18 years is that they are not matured enough to gamble responsibly, most of them still depends on their parents and guardians to survive, so it will be very unfair for them to engage in gambling when they are not making their own money. We don't need to depend on schools and institutions to educate our teens about gambling addiction, we can start teaching them from the homes, if we don't take on this responsibility then they might learn from experience which can lead them to addiction.
