The miracle of money, after the investor started to inject money into Botafogo, the team went from being a joke in Brazil to becoming champion of the Americas, I congratulate the club, even though I think it is still a small team and that all of this is a huge distortion of reality lol.

Atlético has two runner-up positions, anyway, a final is always difficult... but the club lost two finals, so the "smell of the year" trophy goes to Minas Gerais lol

My friend, money fixes many things, but the final was really good, what I like most is that there was a representative of my country and the fact of winning in Brazil is an honor, for me BRAZIL is the capital of football, it does not matter the situation that the Brazilian team is in trouble right now and is receiving criticism, Brazil always shines throughout the COPA Libertadores, I hope they win the InterContinental, they have not been able to yet, but if they can, Botafogo is without a doubt a team that has a very high level right now, I hope they continue like this.

There are many competitive teams in Brazil that, if they played a match against the current Brazilian team, would be able to win relatively easily. The biggest problem is the coach and the CBF management. I also hope that the Brazilian teams have a good Club World Cup. I think the only one that could do badly is Fluminense, which played at the bottom of the table this year.

I also really liked this new format for the Club World Cup, with several European top teams, and we will be able to see matches that were previously unimaginable.

I told everyone to watch the final as it was going to be an exciting game, so I hope you all guys did  Cheesy

I was following the game and I was shocked when I saw how quickly the Botafogo player received a red card, but I thought the Atlético player had been seriously injured.

...

Fortunately it wasn't too serious, but the Botafogo player received a red card very early on, after that the game became more intense in my opinion, Botafogo knew how to be more effective in attack and scored 2 goals, but then they relaxed a lot to the point that Atletico scored 1 goal and dominated the game for a while, but they wasted good opportunities, and in football when a team wastes a lot of opportunities, the other team scores a goal at the first opportunity they have and that's what happened in this game, Atletico's defenders had a lot of difficulty stopping Botafogo's player, Junior Santos.

There's another pictures of this foul that looks even ugly than this photo
It was very unprofessional of Gregore and I bet he got a real scolding from the coach after that red card
No player can get a red card like that in a championship final, I don't know how he managed it  Cheesy

This is the way, money and a good management
Globo and media tried everything to look like there's millions of Botafogo fans hehehe

A nice curiosity, the last 3 Libertadores champions are from Rio de Janeiro

2022 - Flamengo
2023 - Fluminense
2024 - Botafogo

So the next, in 2025 will be Vasco  Shocked Roll Eyes -->  Grin Grin Grin

Botafogo finally won Libertadores

It was a thrilling final....

I told everyone to watch the final as it was going to be an exciting game, so I hope you all guys did  Cheesy

There was a Botafogo player sent off with less than a minute to play, there was an exciting game, chances to draw, 4 goals in total and Botafogo achieved a historic feat by playing practically the whole game with 1 player less, showing that they really are the strongest team in Brazil today

I almost bet on Atlético MG after the red card, but I glad I didn't hahaha

It was a thrilling final. Botafogo won by 3x1 with one less player in field since the beginning of the match. When Luiz Henrique scored the first goal it was really touching. Botafogo's journey is an inspiration for everyone: never stop believing and trying to do your best until you finally win. It may take a long time, many people will laugh on your face and disdain you, but if you keep upstanding, you will overcome the obstacles and win at some point.

The club as a whole deserved it, the fans deserved it. First Libertadores da America title in the history of Botafogo! I'm proud to watch Botafogo's players happy together celebrating the victory. They truly look like a real family.

In a few hours the final will start

The odds are total in favor of Botafogo hehehe, but math and statistics doesn't count the factor that Botafogo lose the most important matches of their history
Let's see if they can rewrite history and become champions of South America

I already told that Disney+ and ESPN will broadcast the match, but I see that Paramount+ will stream too  Grin

After yesterday's match I'm already discouraged to see Atletico-MG as champion, Botafogo will probably win the title of champion of America... Atletico MG doesn't represent any danger, given what I saw in the final of the 2024 Copa do Brasil. Apparently the "smell" this year will be from the team from Minas Gerais. And who would have thought... Botafogo, from a brazilian joke, to champion, I would never have imagined that, really a huge distortion of reality lol

Yesterday Atlético lost to Juventude, but they played with a reserve team in order to play the Libertadores final with 100% strength
Botafogo played yesterday with 100% so as not to lose the Brazilian title

My opinion is as follows:

Botafogo have the advantage of having a better team, with more resources to win and with better individual players who can make the difference.
The weak point is that Botafogo have lost many decisions and in decisive moments, they inexplicably fail to win.

Atlético MG has the advantage of having a more rested team, with less pressure and a striker like Hulk who can decide a match

I saw the odds and they are paying 2.65 to Atlético title, and 1.62 to Botafogo title

Only 4 days to the grand final  Shocked

Maybe only brazilians will watch since there are 2 brazilian teams on the final, but it's always nice to see a continental final

Botafogo vs Atlético MG
Saturday 26th - 20h UTC

I think guys from another countries can watch via ESPN or Disney +

Anyone here have a good guess?

In my opinion Botafogo is better than Atlético MG, but Botafogo always fall in the most important moment, so I'm really in doubt here about my bet

Considering the players of each team, the chances are in favour of Botafogo. The middle-attack squad is the best of the American continent, composed by Thiago Almada, Jefferson Savarino, Luiz Henrique and Igor Jesus - The Fantastic Four. The defensive players Alexander Barboza, Bastos and Gregore are also pretty good, with highlights for Barboza, although he is aggressive sometimes on his arrivals, what causes desnecessary fouls.

The problem is when the adversary plays too closed on defensive position. In games like that, Botafogo has a hard time scoring and completing the plays with success. But in this case, since it's a Libertadores final, I think Atlético isn't going to play on "Testudo Formation", as they also need to advance in order to try scoring and having the advantage after all.

I hope it's going to be an entertaining game and that Botafogo wins after so many years suffering being subdued and humiliated on the soccer national scene. It's time to return to the glorious days!

The dynamics of the championship are a little different, Botafogo has lost the lead in the Brazilian championship and will face Palmeiras. If Botafogo wants to be champion, they will have to go all out in this match, which could jeopardize their performance in the Libertadores final... and there is also the risk that the team will not be able to be champion of either competition... how crazy, how can things change so much in such a short time... as the saying goes: there are things that only happen to Botafogo.

If you analyze the performance throughout the season, Botafogo is the big favorite for the final, but Atlético-MG has already demonstrated its strength in knockout games, reaching both the Copa do Brasil final and the Copa Libertadores final. This is a match that has everything to be as random as possible, I can't imagine a champion yet... anything can happen. But if I were to make a guess without any basis in anything, I would go with Atletico MG.

And Botafogo did it

For the first time in their history, they are classified for a Libertadores final against Atlético MG
They lost to Peñarol 3 x 1, but the first match was 5x0, so the final result was 6x3

100% brazilian final
Which one will be the champion of America?

Today I saw on FIFA's Instagram that they are saying that the winner of this game will guarantee a place in the FIFA Club World Cup. If Botafogo manages to beat Atlético-MG, they will guarantee a place in the FIFA Club World Cup, which would make the club's management, players and fans very happy, even if they are unlucky again and don't win the Brazilian Championship.

@Botafogo and @Atletico will go head-to-head next month, with the winner claiming the final @fifaclubworldcup spot!

Now if they lose in the game against Atlético, the management and the fans put a lot of pressure on the coach and players to win the Brazilian Championship, especially because the game against Atlético will take place while there are still 3 rounds left for the Brazilian Championship to end. Botafogo needs to win something to do well this season and clean up the bad image that was that shameful last season.

Financially, it is much more interesting for a club to win the Copa Libertadores, because of possible sponsors and possible prizes if they manage to do well in the Club World Cup. The Brazilian championship is only very important for those clubs that rarely win it. I think that for any Brazilian team, winning the Americas is much better than winning the Brazilian championship. Now imagine a possible scenario in which Botafogo doesn't manage to win any of the championships... it would be very unlucky, but the club has that motto: there are things that only happen with Botafogo... words have power... I wouldn't bet on Botafogo! lol  Cheesy Cheesy

Yesterday we met the first finalist for Libertadores 2024

Source

Atlético MG drew with River Plate and secured qualification after winning the first leg 3x0 at home.
Incredibly, I didn't expect Atlético MG to make it this far in the Libertadores, since in the Brazilian championship they're not doing so well.
But it looks like the team prioritized the Libertadores and did well

Today Botafogo should secure their place and make it a 100% Brazilian final
What do you think? Any guesses?

Did anyone here follow the Libertadores match between Botafogo and Peñarol yesterday?
Despite the immense confusion of the fans of the Uruguayan team in Rio de Janeiro, Botafogo managed to play a beautiful game, and won 5x0
Yes, 5x0

It's a bit hard to see a semi-final match with such an impressive result
I don't think it's hard to think that Botafogo already have a 99% chance of being in the final

If any fans bet on 5x0, they must have gotten rich today hehehe  Grin Grin Grin

Penarol - Flamengo

honestly, I don't see Flamengo winning this game

And they really didn't win. The key match for this confrontation was the game in Rio de Janeiro, in which Flamengo once again played very poorly and arrived in Uruguay with a serious disadvantage. Throughout the Copa Libertadores, Flamengo's team played mediocre football and didn't play like a team that wants to be champion. The result is there: eliminated from the Libertadores and doing poorly in the Brazilian championship. It seems like this is the beginning of the end for coach Tite as Flamengo's commander. All the structure and money available and the guy can't do a good job. Everything he did was just average and when he needed to win, he couldn't.

In my opinion, Brazilians have talented players, but they have terrible coaches. Tite has his achievements, but he hasn't achieved much with different teams very often. So he's not the kind of coach that Flamengo should have high expectations of. If Flamengo's goal was, for example, to have a coach who would avoid being in the relegation zone in the Brazilian Championship or to go as far as possible in the Libertadores, then I would say that Tite would be suitable. But when you think about winning titles, then I don't see Tite being suitable. Even if they gave Tite 3 or 5 years at Flamengo to create a winning team, I don't think he would produce good results. And everything gets worse because at Flamengo in 2019, when Jorge Jesus won the Brazilian Championship and the Libertadores, he made the board and the fans start demanding titles from all the coaches who arrived after Jorge Jesus. So I think Tite will be fired soon

You were right, Tite was indeed fired and your analysis of his work is almost surgically precise, very good indeed and says it all. The biggest problem for me with Tite is his stubbornness and lack of determination in the team, Flamengo needs a coach with energy, like Jorge Jesus, who pushes the players and makes the team play with intensity. Flamengo needs a coach who can rescue Flamengo's DNA. Filipe Luis is now the new coach, he loves Flamengo and I am very hopeful about the work he will begin, I believe he will surprise many.
