The traditional settings of gambling platforms will be hut harder than we think because of this recent pandemic happening around the world. These settings will be shutdown for further notice from the government, in my country right now, they have issued a notice about the importance of shutdown of places like event centers and gambling centres, even worship centers.

The only surviving gambling platforms will be those online casinos which can be done without anybody coming in contact with each other. This will be a business as usual for gamblers around the  world even though there's pandemic.

Omicron is another FUD
IMO.. only people who understand and believe in cryptocurrencies will gamble with cryptocurrencies.  online gambling is sure to increase because of the boredom that occurs when people are unable to do normal activities or go to a traditional casino but an increase will occur in online casinos that offer deposits via credit card or fiat transfers (majority of people still do not understand about cryptocurrencies and even believe)..

Not your Keys, not your Bitcoin
Corono Virus has a huge effect specially on physical gambling casinos because here in my country they are implementing social distances.
However COVID19 only have minimum effect in online gambling specially because they are using cryptocurrency.
More than 90% of the countries affect the COVID 19, But few only affects this issues so secret gambling casinos are available in my country. In reality we never concentrate the casino gambling, I think many online sports gambling also stop the betting so we must concentrate the day to day life surviving. I hope everything will normal on next month end because of medicine will solve these issues.

There are still casino gamblers that are not aware of the existence of Cryptocurrency based online casinos because they are concentrated on gambling physically that they are not aware of its existence, and the data could be higher but this time is the best opportunity to invite them to play online using Cryptocurrency.

Sports betting might not be the same as before due to postponed games but there are other alternatives that we can play if you are really eager to gamble.
The sports betting industry is in huge trouble in my opinion. All major leagues and games are postponed and no one knows when they will resume - or if they have to end the leagues at the current state.

Good/professional sports better usually bet at games in sports and leagues they know and understand in detail. It is very hard to switch to another league (imagine a better who usually bets at games in the German Bundesliga who has to switch to eg. an Australian league) and even way harder to switch to an other sport (tennis -> cricket eg.)

So no, in my opinion there are no alternatives to stopping your sports bettings in my opinion Smiley

I think there would be really more people who will be more active in online gambling sites, while the authorities have ordered to avoid going out in public places like casinos, and they are sports events that had been cancelled and postponed that we should be staying inside our homes or houses.
You're right, physical casino players has still an option to gamble even there's a lockdown on their area. Sports betting might not be the same as before due to postponed games but there are other alternatives that we can play if you are really eager to gamble. Currently because lockdown is implemented here, card games are our past time to entertain ourselves.

I am 99% sure none of the professional players will ever get a huge trouble unless they are careless about what they do or not get tested and so forth. I mean these are people who are probably the healthiest among the public by being in top shape physically and they train and take care of themselves like crazy so they have to be super super healthy plus on top of that teams pay millions of dollars per year for the best medical team available for them as well, now normally it is sports doctors who are experts on sports related injuries but they are still doctors plus they can afford for experts outside as well.

Combine all of that together and how players are young, I am 99% sure it would be just a bad case of flu for them and they will get back to healthy without any trouble.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
We are badly affected by this pandemic virus. Most of us are now looking at how to survive from the market crash and also the way of living in which food and supplies are in the limit. Then, thinking about gambling? I think it was not the priority of the people at this time but instead, they are focus on how to budget their money of this crisis will stay longer and no money coming in to replenish all our expenses.

Maybe we could think that online transactions would likely increase its volume but something we don't see it, in fact, it decreases as well. This means that nobody would like to move their money but instead to keep it for future use if the situation get worsen.

Can not blame about it at the time of the pandemic, some consider it can still gamble even online at home, but also must be able to survive at a time like this due to lockdown they do not have the full job because even though work at home income will still decrease and will difficult to get food for stock later on, but we must understand because in the current situation people are more selfish and family than gambling.

Gambling at a time like this is only part of what they do maybe people addicted to it.

I'm not sure about that. If they don't go to work, they've more free time so they're more likely to spend money in gambling.

As far as that context is concerned, I think of another way around.

I don't know to other countries but when the lockdown started here, work suspension at some industries immediately implemented. It's basically "no work = no pay". It means that doing gambling will surely not be considered even these people now have lots of free time to spend. Plus the fact that it's a matter of survival during a lockdown, budget is limited and should only used to basic necessities and important matters.

Unless these people are rich and have lots of spare funds to throw even in a situation like that, then yes they might continue gambling. But it will only be limited to casino games as lots of sport betting events are canceled.

The effect of corona virus to cryptocurrency gambling is not much as gamblers can still gamble in an online crypto casino. As of now, esports won't be able to continue their betting platform since e-sports, sports and online tournament games are either cancelled, postponed or move to another date to continue the match. In sportsbook sites the bettors will likely stop betting and start playing in an online crypto casino games.

I guess small timers in gambling will have a break in gambling as you mentioned, they will prefer to save the money for necessary items. But for those high rollers who don't care about money or don't have problem spending money even with this pandemic situation, they will be in online platforms and maybe discover crypto online gambling websites. This will increase crypto users in gambling...Maybe..For Sports bettors, they will look for alternatives but maybe most of them will park their gambling activities.
I think it would depend on their situation if they have enough money then they don't really need to take a break.
I mean not all of those small time gamblers have a tight budget there are some who only prefer to gamble with small amount even if they are loaded with money.
So I guess not all of those small time gamblers would take a break and some might only lessen their gambling expenses.
Those people are pretty smart and I guess they are doing right thing by not playing all the time with huge money because in this way, the chances of losing hard earned money decrease. I personally prefer trying gambling for fun with small amount of money because this will not let greed ruin all the fun.

I think the volume will be decreased since they all need to be prepared for a global economic crisis.

A lot people not going to working doing a social distancing, spend money, especially at gambling without getting some income.
I don't understand what you mean, how the volume could decrease if more people spend money for gambling like you say.  Huh There is a contradiction no?

The statement might not be properly written but if we reconstruct it:

"A lot of people will not go to work as they practicing social distancing. They won't consider spending their money especially on gambling because they don't have a source of income."

I just hope that's what the user meant because if not then the statement is contradicting.
I'm not sure about that. If they don't go to work, they've more free time so they're more likely to spend money in gambling. I understood his statement this way, so I think he just wanted to say "the volume will increase" instead IMO

With the current downtrend all over the globe, people are liquidating their holdings to fiat. Decrease of sports games will increase the interest among default gambling games like Dice, Roulette and BlackJack etc. Since, sport events are never really safe for the spectators it was a wise decision to move those events onto a later date.

There would be moderate volume in the online gambling sites as the gamblers on the whole has minimized to an extent and are willing to save their money. The recent bitcoin crash isn't related to speculation rather due to the panic selloff to increase their fiat holdings. Even though the sporting events are on the verge of extending its cancellations gamblers would mostly depend on the default online casino games which can be played among just for fun.
but now the condition of coins in the exchange has begun to improve indeed sport gambling still cannot be fully used but with other gambling games we all can still get a lot of profit, at least these gamblers still leave a little balance to do gambling so that they still have the opportunity to make money even though the condition is not good.

I think there would be really more people who will be more active in online gambling sites, while the authorities have ordered to avoid going out in public places like casinos, and they are sports events that had been cancelled and postponed that we should be staying inside our homes or houses.

I don't think so. There are two major factors. First of all, gamblers who visit physical casinos regularly may not be comfortable with the online casinos. Many of them are middle-aged or elderly, and they may not be very excited with the online version. And secondly, the economy is in a meltdown state and even online gamblers may have to scale back their expenses and bets.
The media is used for promoting the physical casinos in real life and the online casinos have started to apply this idea in related websites since 2010,AFAIK. The average person doesn't get the same excitement in online casinos and the effects of slots don't give the same effect like in real life. The expense cutting is not case here, because the online casinos have the lower limits compared to the physical casinos.

but I guess, a gambler is a gambler. So they will find a way on how to pass time these days. so high chance that they will check online gambling sites. and what's in it for them. But for those who really can't afford to gamble in this crisis, I think they will stop or break their habit up until they see some green light again. and I hope, those small time gamblers should not follow their gambling habits if the money at stake is for his family's needs. not really a smart decision if he will do so!
