50k+ new cases and more  than 1k deaths happened yesterday in Brazil.

USA reported 33k new cases, 700 deaths. (Yesterday)

Mexico is not in a good shape neither.

Reported case/death numbers in EU is slowing down but like everybody else, I find it hard to believe.

People are not panicking as hard as they used to, don't know if that's a good thing or not. Time will tell.

With what is happening right now in their country, I expected this already that more gamblers will just gamble in their home rather than going to a casino and because of that online sports betting are promoted and this will also help the economy of the country as a whole too.

With some of the sports reopening already, I'm quite happy to see sports to recover again but I just hope that the worst case scenario will not happen where an infected person can infect other people. They are fighting against an invisible enemy so they don't know if the one that is beside them is infected or not. There are asymptomatic persons too so it would be harder to determine.

With the English Premier League back along with the Bundesliga, La Liga and other sporting events re-starting it is clear some people will start going back to their pre-COVID 19 gambling habits but if there was a spike in online gaming and casinos will it be affected if those users return back to sports gambling and abandon online casinos?
It will only depend on a gambler if he returns to sports betting and will eventually leave the online casino because then gradually the sport matches begin to turn around if it is his priority and first love. There are also others who like the online casino and may not leave it at all. It can also be synchronized while waiting for results in sports betting.

It will be interesting to see what the numbers are.

I will surmise that perhaps we will see growth as far as betting as compare to pre-COVID 19. My reasoning is that as fans as glued at home and watching their favourite teams, there is a big chance that most of them will go online and place their bet. I don't know if casino's are going to release that numbers though, be fiat or crypto based online operators.

I guess so. People will place their bet, especially if their favorite teams will play with the opponent. That will be an exciting match moment since people can not watch their teams play for almost 3-4 months. Maybe the casino or the sports betting site or betting casino will full of the order bets from people because people will have the hope to win the money from their favorite teams.
They will. I'm sure that a lot of fans and bettors will go rush after the games and not just for supporting the league but also going after for the possible winning.

I don't know if casino's are going to release that numbers though, be fiat or crypto based online operators.
They are not obliged to do it but maybe they'll add some thrilling feeling to show the stats.

Online sports betting in the USA is growing and promoting on social networks. I have taken a look on twitter.

Illinois
Online sports betting is already legal in illinois, this niche is booming as we know there is a great demand. The pandemic has forced us to stay home, and online businesses is an alternative.

Georgia
There is intent to allow the DraftKings and FanDuel platforms to legally operate in Georgia under the tutelage of the State Lottery because Legislators voted for a law amendment.
I think it is a stimulus that contributes to reviving the activities of sports betting.

Now that Premier League football is back, I wonder what the statistics released in the following weeks will show about the number of bets being placed. Will it be in proportion to pre-COVID 19 patterns?

Fans will also understand that the gathering has been banned to this day. So do not force them and may even suspend sports events again if they do not comply. Let's just say that even before the virus is over, they are already watching live games via streaming ... Let's take care of that first.

I guess it is enough for them to be able to watch again live games of their favorite team or favorite players. It is much better like this than not watching them at all. I hope we can all see NBA games in July so we will be able to bet on it again. Another thing is that they should be able to be ready with the protocols for that so they would be safe.

Lets us pray that people do follow the norms and social distancing even if allowed as a audience. Because if not miniating the safe distance or so this will not only endanger them to expose of virus but also it could mean that the sports authority or the board for the game could take some serious decisions and ban completely of audience and this could even impact other sports confident this situation could arise their as well.
I hope they follow those important measures and guidelines to avoid the spreading of COVID-19. To be honest, the audience isn't necessary when having a sports tournament right now 'cause it's true that it will just expose them to the virus. Too many people mean the higher percentage rate of getting or acquiring the virus. It'll just make the situation worst and if ever there are continuous cases because of some sports tournament, it'll be just postponed again.

I'm happy too that sport events are back, even without audience. But for how long? In sone countries situation is getting worse again, new infected people appear so if that continues governments could make decisions to stop sport matches again. I'm afraid that wouldn't be bad just for us but allso for the future of sport in general. That worries me a bit.
Worst case scenario that might happen is that they will be force to what they did 2-3 months ago where they forced to postpone and cancel all of the games because of the increasing cases in their country.

I'm quite happy that some of the sports events are resuming right now but the fight for the vaccine of COVID19 isn't over yet and there are cure for it as of this moment. Worst part is people are just going around just like nothing is happening. Well if the worst happens, they will just postpone the matches again.

Regarding the future of sports, this will end in some time so after this sports will resume for sure so nothing to be afraid of.

Its better compared to no sports at all, and I agree it worries me a bit because one positive case to any of those involved may affect all the players and staff as well. It will be cancelled again and I think all they have to do is really wait for the vaccine if this no audience will not work out. I know they are all with the precautions to avoid it from happening but still its a possibility.  Excited but scared is what I feel for the sports community right now. I just hope it will work out.

After a few months of sports matches affected by the corona virus, so can not play sports betting. But now it's slow several sports matches
have begun, even some psychic casinos have been reopened. Although sports matches are now goes differently to when the corona virus
hasn't spread throughout the world. Now implementing several health protocols, and sports matches without a live audience. But at least
the sports competition can run again, that's the most important thing. So I am very happy to play sports gambling again.

If this virus remains for too long without a cure or vaccine, it will indeed affect sports in general, but if that happens, I think people will understand that it's not the priority since we all need to survive. At least sports can still resume, let's be thankful for that.

But while there is still no vaccine available, I'm afraid that we will also have to deal with only watching games online or televised. They can't risk everyone if they will allow live audiences. Talking about the availability of the vaccine, maybe this will take a year or worse, it will take years. And imagine having no live audience for that long is frustrating.

Sports book are always open, I guess even during the times where the lock down was announce for some countries, there are sports that are going but they are not the major sports like we usually bet. Soon, these major sports I'm talking will reopen and sportsbook will be truly be back in business again.
Though games would have to abide the new normal but betting online in our sportsbook it will not change, we are in the same normal as before.

Excellent post, nice to see a constructive post in this thread.

With regards to the issue at hand, will those that were/are in lock down turn to excessive gambling as a result of having time on their hands or will they maintain their regular betting patterns.

Now that almost all sporting events all over the world are cancelled, those wanting bet of sports events are left with having to find alternatives. What are the majority doing?

Are some giving up and trying to become reformed gamblers?

Are some gambling on casinos instead?

What are alternatives most sports betting users are now switching to?

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/mar/14/sport-coronavirus-empty-schedules-football

See what we are talking about here is not universal , there are countries where people actually attended those events and places where the event went down without people. For sure someone did place huge bets on the event .

Due to coronavirus mostly the events are off , certain things one could actually say:

No jobs>No investments>No Gambling

It is just something to enjoy for the rich now, even then one should understand that people without much investments are trying their luck.

Some places have actually opened up related To Gambling. I do think this could be catastrophic for the long run .

The business of Gambling is down no doubt. But one can easily enjoy the ones that they can use from their houses without putting their lives in danger .

Or maybe call the nearby sports Gambling place you know well and place the bets on the mobile ?

If we are talking about sports gambling some of them are cancelled or postponed their games because they want to avoid having a gathering from different part of the stadium because in case there is an infected person it causes spreading a lot the virus immediately, still, it is a good opportunity to the players because they have some time to make a lot of practice and trading for the upcoming event and the first fight on the year of 2020 during the quarantine is came from Jose Pedraza vs. Mikkel LesPierre on las vegas according to our tv5 espn.. The hype and the excitement of the gamblers are coming up.

Sports are slowly resuming, I'm happy that finally boxing match has already resume though I expect they will be the first to be given a go signature since it's just a battle of 2 fighters in the ring, but I believe our favorite sports will also follow soon, especially the NBA where I love to watch at bet at the same time.
I'm waiting for NBA to resume but I don't think that it will as enjoying as what it is pre-pandemic unfortunately.

What's happening right now affected both the audiences/watchers and also the players too. Some might not in their perfect shape when the resume date comes but we don't know. One thing is for sure though. It will not as exciting as it is but still I'm happy that they will resume this July. I just hope that the worst case scenario will not happen and that is an infected player to roam free around because one infected player can ruin the game and worst it can lead to another pause or even stoppage of the season already.

Asymptomatic individuals can still spread the virus, so it is really a risk for all those players involved. I think they should be all tested before getting in the court because some patients are not showing any signs of covid symptoms. But I believe they will all do the necessary health protocols to avoid further issues that may hinder their upcoming events.
