Could some major shift or change happen that would bitcoin nearly worthless especially overnight?

That would be impossible, at current price of BTC right now it will never drop at $1.

That 1usd idea is a crap and if you think a progress of bitcoin in the future that's so alarming, and I think there's a big economic war when it happens. I see it to be the biggest opportunity to all who haven't invest bitcoin in buying for holding, and that price is so cheap if that 1usd will be reached. If that 1usd will be possible no one will plan to exchange their bitcoin to fiat cash and price will rise higher again, because many will buy and hold it for a long term investment.

No, hopefully such things do not exist, you can sleep peacefully ! Also, it does not happen especially overnight !

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray all cryptos to increase
If the market crash before I wake
On ramen I will dine not steak

To those who hold the position that there is a possibility I would align with that although the possibly of that happen is really slim but its still possible. Using the current happenings, its very difficult for us to go that back down because even if the price crashes, and the block chain is still worthy to be adopted by multinationals and even countries, then I see it bouncing back but the moment block chain fails, I see it crashing even beyond the benchmark of the $1 set.

Anything is possbile, but in realistic bitcoin will not go there ever again because the supply is very limited than the demands in the markets.

Possible? Sure. Likely? Not very. This isn't a penny stock offering with only hype from pump/dump boiler rooms while the principles flood the market with shares. BTC is a worldwide decentralized industry at this point. I think the main question is if it continues to grow or stalls but it's not going away anytime soon. Right now the big volume coins all move in relative lockstep up and down, presumably mostly tied to btc. I'm curious to see what happens when/if that locked sync gets lost, if btc will still be the "index" or not.

from the current price over than $2000 to $1 overnight i think it's just like trying went to the moon using submarine so it's impossible because usually if the price dropped it was happened gradually so there is no such thing in cryptocurrency even altcoins would never happened from valuable became worthless at the same day

I don't think so.
In my honest opinion too much money is invested in bitcoin to just drop to 1$ over night.
And if you didn't noticed, every time price drop people are buying it and pump price back. Also more and more people are using bitcoin, so i just don't see this as an option.

1bitcoin = 1usd ? It's impossible imo. It will only happen if something really bad happen on bitcoin, like a big scam or another popular crypto come and makes bitcoin price become lower and lower. It will takes a long time though for that. Because the bitcoin's price is still on top price.

Is it possible? I can't say no to that since we're talking about crypto currency. But is it likely such a thing will happen? No not at all. There is too many interest in bitcoin right now for that to happen. But we're never 100%.

Did you ever face with questions about "is bitcoin bubble?" ?  Wink

Currently we are in correction "mood"..Remember, this rollercoaster ride is just getting started. So there’s no reason not to be buying now. Wink
Exactly bitcoin is not yet in a bubble. But boy when it will be in a bubble the there's no stopping it. I don't get why people already think bitcoin is in a bubble. Bitcoin will be in a bubble when your neighbors want to buy bitcoin.

Its hardly impossible to happen.Bitcoin has gained vast investor base all over the world. Its demand is diversified globally. So,if people of one region are willing to sell bitcoins in large number, people from other region are ready to buy it.So there is no decrease in demand and no chance of bitcoin price to fall down to $1.

Even after the hard fork happens in August 1 price will not go to 1 dollar for a bitcoin. Bitcoin is called digital gold or gold 2.0 and as long as it good as a store of value, I think it can never happen that the price of bitcoin to go equal to 1 dollar.

It will never happen that bitcoin will be equal to $1 but this is more possible to happen.

Yes it could happens and a 1 satoshi be equal to 1 USD  Tongue

The current total investment to crypto's are big and bitcoin has the highest total investment so I doubt it that we will again bitcoin's price back at $1. If that will happen, we'll need to see first back at $1,000.

While it is true that the current price of bitcoin does not seem to have a rational basis, it does not seem to me likely that a target bitcoin price should be below $800, since for a long time of the previous months its price increase had been gradual and consistent, but when brook that resistance began this amazing climb that we see today.

It is not entirely impossible that the bitcoin can at some point lose its value until it reaches almost zero value. In the past of humanity we have seen similar events of assets that passed from being worth more than gold to be worth little more than nothing, but I do not see the conditions for that to happen in the short term.

Major shift = Shift towards what? other alts like ETH, LTC  Huh Bitcoin can share marketcap with others in future too just like it is right now.
Change = Hard fork is possible that might create some panic on the market
Bitcoin being worthless = Bitcoin will never go under $100 or even under $1000 from this point.

Never understand from where it comes all this pessimistic ideas... Could the gold price be equal to 1 USD?

Bitcoin is far from Gold. Is way more fragile.   Seems some of you dont understand that Bitcoin is an experiment. There is quite a chance not only that 1 BTC is worth less then $1, but even nothing at all.

Neither the green paper worth anything, just a piece of special printed paper but what makes it important is the market (since it is no more related to gold). Same goes for bitcoin imo.

As always, there is no way of telling if bitcoin won't be targeted by governments in the future. We have no idea how it will scale or maybe there will be so internal dispute among miners.
Despite the odds, chances of bitcoin reaching bottom are pretty slim. I hate to say that, but bitcoin is too big to fall, and this truth is more and more relevant and seems the case here.
At this point I am certain that after every crash we will have someone who would start buying bitcoin up.
