A disappointing series for Bangladesh. Though Bangladesh played without their key players like Shakib, Liton they should win a minimum one match with this team. I think, bowling department was decent but they collapse on batting. Especially, one of their best batsman Tamil is not getting run for many matches. Also, Bangladesh was poor in fielding, especially in the last match.

The Ashes start later today, this is one series I have been looking forward to since the start of the year as I'm interested to see how Australia perform with Warner and Smith playing in the test team again. I still think England will win the Ashes but it will be a close fought series, maybe England win 3-2.
My prediction is that England will probably win 2-0 and 1 match will be drawn. Joe Root and David Warner are the players to focus on in my opinion in terms of batsmen. Starc and Anderson are the bowlers to focus on.

Currently Bangladesh is not good without Shakib they have to think about this because they need some good and quality players for tough competitions as now we have Test World Championship and World Twenty/20 is also coming they try to bring some good true all-rounders like Shakib otherwise they are going more down.
That is exactly what I suggested earlier in my posts. I don't get why they keep out of form players like Iqbal, Rubel etc in their lineup even after seeing their dismal performances in the World Cup this year.

Sri Lanka just whitewashed Bangladesh in their three match ODI series. Sri Lanka have bounced back strong after a poor World Cup and Bangladesh has done the opposite after having a pretty good World Cup campaign.

An unexpected white wash happened for Bangladesh who had played so well in the world cup and now lost to SL which is not the best of the sides at the present moment by 3-0 and this would definitely hurt the team as their confidence would be shaken by it.

Mahela Jayawardene: Cricket needs the ICC World Test Championship

https://www.icc-cricket.com/media-releases/1296815

I agree with Mahela Jayawardene. It'd be amazing if we can get a world cup of the Test format!

If cricket wants to grow in to a global sport, then it needs to adapt with the changing times. Test cricket is definitely not compatible with the current circumstances. Earlier people used to have a lot of free time, and it was possible to devote 5 days to watching a test match once a month or so. But life has become more hectic now and we need to popularize the shorter format of the game, if we want to attract more people.

Not sure if the disappointment of the World Cup for Bangladesh is the reason why they have been playing poorly against Sri Lanka or if its fatigue from playing so much cricket in just a couple of months. They have played poorly in both matches losing badly so lets hope that they can at least give Sri Lanka a challenge in the final ODI match.

The last match of the ODI series between Bangladesh & Sri Lanka will take place today. Bangladesh has the last chance for a happy ending. Sri Lanka showed tremendous performance in batting & bowling. Bangladesh has lost the momentum as their key player Shakib is resting. Tamim is not getting runs which are the Bangladesh team concerned about. I saw their fielding is also not so well as a big team like India, England. Sri Lanka would hope for a whitewash because they are the favourite at home.

Prithiv Shaw one of the upcoming younger batsman has being banned till November 15 for a doping violation. He anyways was not picked for the WI tour and is going to miss the SA series and the Bangladesh series as well which will in the their country itself.

I couldn't fully agree with you. Bangladesh has 5 players who played even World cup 2007. Shakib, Mash, Mahmudullah are playing in the Bangladesh team for 10+ years. The same goes for Mushi and Tamim. They are all senior players who performing well for the last few years. I don't think they are inexperienced but the way they are showing performance in the last few matches looks they are new to the cricket world. I am very disappointed to see the results of the last few matches. Hopefully, soon they will come back strongly.
True, the five person you mentioned had played the 2007 world cup, but Tamim and Mash, both are out of form. Mash bowling is not a good one, Tamim is in off form for a long time.
On Srilanka series, Shakib isn't playing as well.

SL  standards have fallen not due to political uncertainty but due to all top players retiring in almost similar time like Dilshan, Sangakara, Jayawardhane and thus the SL team could not replace that quality with any of the other players. they dd not had backup who could have replaced them.
It is very difficult to replace players like Kumar Sangakkara, Dilshan or Mahela Jayawardene or even Muttiah Muralitharan but they failed to find any consistent players during their time and groom them during their final years of cricket, India too had legendary players who retired from cricket but they replaced with players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and groomed them to what they have become now and Srilanka failed to do that and so is the reason you find them struggling. Every country goes through that phase and if you are not grooming the young talents properly then you will struggle to find players of exceptional caliber.

I am sure they are going to prefer Finch instead of Khawaja because he is also performing good in recent matches and deserve this opportunity even Khawaja is also not bad at all but Finch and Warner can do much better as they already done in ODI's. But we have one more person Bancroft he is also recalled so this is very interesting as now they have more openers lets see how they are going to manage this all in next few days.

I agree with @vella's reasoning about Warner and Finch batting style and would like to add that Finch failed to perform against Seaming Red Ball so far (he didn't played much but still) , plus i doubt that he can face likes of Broad and Anderson ( word is he's fit to play Ashes). on the other hand his competitor Usman Khwaja is proper Test Opener Batsman in Australian squad.

In short Warner and Khwaja should be go to opening pair for OZ.

That's right mate, having two similar batsman open in test matches just doesn't work. For ODI and T20 it is perfect as they can get the team off to a flying start but test match cricket is completely different and we have seen in the past that having an attacking batsman like Warner and a batsman that takes their time like Khawaja seems to be a good opening combination. We have seen this with many teams over the years so that is why I think the selectors will leave Finch out and if Warner has a bad match then Finch might come in and replace him in the second test match.

Bangladesh have lost second consecutive match against SL and due to this they have lost the series as it was 3 match series and behind by 2-0 . Bangladesh will now to play for pride their last match and SL will like to white wash the series and end on a positive note .

It is a battle for supremacy. Sri Lanka were the world champions once, but their standards have come down by a lot (in part due to the civil war and the political uncertainty). On the other hand, Bangladesh has shown a lot of promise recently, but still they are unable to compete against the big three. India has cemented its place as the no.1 team from South Asia. Bangladesh will be aiming to become no.2, after displacing Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Bangladesh to be the no.2 from South Asia takes more time. India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka has secured its position in the top. Bangladesh comes up with outrageous performance, but there is very low consistency in winning. Bangladesh has got good players in all the places, but the experience lacks in most of the matches.

Sri Lanka is always good in their home turf, and in Bangladesh Shakib and Liton is not playing, they were backbone of their team in World Cup, Don't worry about Bangladesh they will recover soon and will be good. They just require some fresh bowler, their bowling is not good at all.

Now experience is not problem for them biggest problem is they have not good and match winning players like Shakib they need to do some work in this as now they are very good and competitive side but lake of genuine problems just Shakib missing and they are playing like shit which is really matter of shame.

I was wondering what is wrong with Bangladesh as they are not even making a fighting chance in both the concluded matches and now i understood that they are playing in Srilanka and the teams that play in their own back ground perform better than the tourists, but before the series i thought Bangladesh will give a better performance considering their performance in the world cup, but Srilanka outperformed in every department in both the matches.
