India is pretty much in the driving seat. 215/2 after day 1 means if nothing extra ordinary happens tomorrow at the first session then India is going for a big score. 500+ is not going to be that hard and that's gonna take the whole day of day two, except may be last few overs for Aussies.

In that case Aussies have to do very well in their first innings. Most probably they will get few overs (5 to 10) from day 2 because India will try to pick up few wickets. Aussies have to bat very well on day 3. If they don't then India will drive the car for sure.

Anyway, anything can happen after all it's India v Australia. My odds are still for India by the way.

Looking for an exciting test match.
Above quoted my last post about the match. I was positive about India. Although I was expecting India to cross 500 mark but their first innings ended at 443 and they did not go for further. Aussies were failed to score at the first innings and my guess is this is the only reason that they are going to lose this match.

Australian tailenders are playing well, but won't sustain and win tomorrow.
If there are no miracle tomorrow from Aussies then India is going to win.

The only miracle can save Australia is from Rain, as their is a Rain forecast tomorrow and if their is no rain in first session then India will win the match.

South Africa won the test match against Pakistan by 6 wickets, and both the captains made quite an interesting record! Grin

Sarfraz and Faf du Plessis become first ever captains to record a ‘pair’ in the same Test

4 combined ducks by both the captains - this is ultra-rare!

This type of records can only happen when Pakistan is playing and that too South Africa is also their, as this two team always give surprises to the viewers.

anyhow congrats to SA for winning the test match and leading 3 match test 1-0

Australia is holding up the Indian celebrations for now as it looks like they will have to come back tomorrow to bowl Australia out and win the test match. However tomorrow is the day where rain is forecast so we never know what can happen as Cummins is proving hard to get out and is batting like a top order batsman. The day ends with Australia 8 wickets down for 258 runs. Its going to be an interesting day to see what happens with the weather and if Cummins and Lyon can continue to fight and make it tough for India to win.

India took 30 minutes extra play as they thought OZ would get all out and match could end today itself. But unlike Indian tail end OZ are giving a fightback and still on the crease. This is a great sign of the fighting till the end irrespective whatever the results might be tomorrow.

Australian tailenders are playing well, but won't sustain and win tomorrow. The target is quite small but it will be hard on a fresh day to beat the energized bowlers. I felt disappointed with the batting end of India, their 2nd innings was pathetic.
And, I will agree India could have finished it today itself.

Australia is batting much better in the second innings however they have lost 4 wickets for 121, Bumrah is the one doing all the damage taking 2 wickets and is making it very tough for the Australia batsman to face. So far the rain is staying away which is good and we should see a result in this match with either India wining or Australia.
Most likely the match is going one side for now since it is very hard to bat on for 4 sessions remaining with 6 wickets in hand or scoring the remaining 233 runs because final day the pitch will assist more to bowlers.

OZ are about to loss this test match as they have already lost 8 wickets and still remaining 169 runs with 2 wickets in hand and 1 day to go. India would be very happy with their performance and yes toss played a major role if you see in this match. Jadeja have taken 3 wickets, Bumrah and Shami have picked 2 wickets each till now.

Hopefully Jadeja will go fivefur in this match, after a bad performance from Jadeja in the earleir matches then this will help to regain his confident for the next year when the world cup is going to happen.

People always argue about who is the best captain among Kohli and Dhoni . Today we can clearly see why Kohli's captaincy lacks decision making . There was no need at all for Indians to bat , they should have ( and I mean "should") let Aussies bat , it would have been lot more easier for Indians to win .
I had made a pre-bet on draw , I really don't know how this match will end.

I agree that India was in a strong position to enforce the follow-on with Australia being bowled out for 151 however hardly any team now days enforces the follow-on anymore. This all changed when Australia lost the test match in India when they enforced the follow-on after being in a strong position, I'm sure most of us remember this test match in 2001 where VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid put on the big partnership and set up the win for India. Since that test match we haven't seen many teams enforce the follow-on so I can understand why Kohli decided to bat again as Australia are playing on home soil and anything could happen. Rain is forecast for today and tomorrow so the draw can still be the outcome here depending on how long India bat for if they can survive the morning session. Then it will be up to Australia to bat well and maybe even try and play out a draw if the rain is around.

Don't compare a growing kid (Kohli) with the living legend(Dhoni). Cool

You can turn back the history of Dhoni captancy he is not only the best India captain but also the best captain of all since he is having the record of winning all the international trophies.

India are in complete control of the third test match and from here they should go on to winning the match as they have Australia in big trouble at 7 wickets down for just 138 runs and they still trail by 305 runs. Australia still need 105 runs to avoid the follow-on which I can't seem them doing so it will be interesting to see what India do if Australia can't avoid the follow-on, will they bat again or put Australia back in and finish the test match tomorrow?
It's tea and Aussies are trailing by 99 trailing to avoid follow on. Lots of pressure on Paine right now , I want Starc to bat as he bats usually , aggressive .

Australia have been bowled out for 151 and India didn't enforce the follow-on and batted instead. India already lead by over 300 runs and I think they just need to add another 250 runs to make it virtually impossible for Australia to win. But India must also give them self enough time to bowl Australia out so I'm thinking they will try and get as many runs as they can in the third session and then bat until lunch tomorrow, then put Australia in to bat. India should win from here, they have simply outclassed Australia in this match.

Bumrah has changed the entire game itself in India favor. It was just not even thought that OZ on their home ground can get all out for just 151 runs and giving India a very big 1st inning lead. India are now 28/2 in their second inning and lead is now 320 runs.

Australia are fighting back strong taking 5 wickets for just 44 runs, India now need to survive the final few overs without losing any more wickets. This poor batting performance by India have now opened up the door for Australia, its been an amazing bowling performance by Pat Cummins who took 4 wickets and the big wicket in Kohli for a duck. I will point out that the highest run chase at the MCG is 332 runs so it will be very tough for Australia even if they bowl out India cheaply.

first 2 days 7 wickets and on 3rd day 15 wickets. Bumrah and Cummins changing tide for their team but batsmen don't want to spend time in the ground Cool

Even if India are 55/5 down they are leading 346 runs which is enough to defend, if the current parternership and other play good then India can take lead above 400+ which will be a good target to defend, if the same pitch reaction is their on 4th day also. So India are still in 80% chance of winning this test match.

Does anybody thought that pitch would change suddenly on Day 3. 15 wickets has fallen and a day earlier India batted so well and this means wining toss is almost like winning match.  OZ would have a difficult time if they have to draw or win the match as already India is 346 runs ahead and 5 wickets remaining.

I already mention this in my earlier post but it looks like no one got noticed, when it is five day match the toss is really important since last day will be favour of bowlers so India looks to get more run and try to crush their opponents when the days passes,
