Yes the target is not big, and it is achievable. Nobody supported to the captain suppose if any of 2 top order batsman supported means the target may cross 300 runs. But captain batted well and scored a century. Now India started to bat and made 25 runs in 5 overs with no loss. India has a chance to win this game if they do not lose wickets at an early stage.

But Bangladesh failed to bat well today because their middle and lower order batsman failed to bat. SL bowling was much better than yesterday but Bangladesh still posted a good total of 513 runs in the first innings. Even though Sri Lanka last their first wicket for zero runs but second wicket started a very well and added already 123 runs and both are still playing well. If this Sri Lanka play like this then we don't see result from this match unless one of them collapse badly in second innings.

Yes Bangladesh played an outstanding batting today. In test match making 374 runs in one day is not easy. Mominul Haque excellent, just 25 runs need to make his double ton. I think he can make it tomorrow. Sri Lanka in an awful situation if they do not pick wickets tomorrow 1st session it will be tough for them to come back in this game.

If the pitch is not supporting bowlers then what they can do?

If SL also plays good batting in their first innings then a match may end in a draw so don't bet more money on this match until we see SL first inning batting. I think Bangladesh can easily score more than 600 runs in this innings which will be too much for SL team to chase but they can play for drawing this test match.

Bangladesh is in an extremely strong position at 374/4 at the end of day 1. I do not think they will look at specific targets like 500, but would look to bat out day 2. If they manage to do that, Sri Lanka would be under pressure right from the start of the innings and would find it tough to avoid the follow on. This match has already started. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first and this decision has given them a good results so far in this innings. In 80 overs Bangladesh has scored 335 runs and lost only two wickets. All top batsman played a good cricket so far in this innings. I don't know whether it is a batting pitch or SL bowlers are not able to pick up wickets but it is a very good start by home team Bangladesh. If this batting continues like this then they may score more than 600 runs by end of tomorrow.

I am not sure whether the absence of AB de Villiers is going to have much of an impact on the Protean batting. South Africa is not an one-man army, unlike India (which is heavily dependent on Virat Kohli in the batting department).

Virat Kohli is the master of chase when it comes to the limited overs cricket. South Africa is a very good team and also don't forget that they have home advantage. After winning the last test match, India must be more confident to start with the ODI series. AB Devilliers has been ruled out from first 3 ODI and it will be an advantage for India.

Agreed, no indian batsman performed as per their reputation but lets don't forget that the pitch was too difficult for the batsman. Even South African batsman struggled on their home pitch, Virat Kohli was the only batsman who scored century on this difficult pitch.

Indian batsman's always struggled in south African conditions whether it could be test, odi or t20. But now the scenario is different may expect good performance from the Indian batters. With Abd injured India have good chance to win the odis.

I actually bit surprised to see that Bangladesh lost that final match to SL. Because currently SL performance is quite bad and Bangladesh is quite strong in home pitches but still they lost that match to a weak team.

In test matches, I believe that Bangladesh is stronger that SL team to win the matches. They won against many strong teams at home test matches so they have that confidence to win this test match. Let's see whether SL team can surprise home team again like last final match.

Most of peoples India is not going to perform in ODI's also but I believe in this format we can expect any result as happen in Bangladesh Sri Lanka lost to Zimbabwe and Bangladesh badly but they come back strongly and win this series so because this is all about on this day not like test in four or five day so we can expect good cricket from them
