What kind of manipulation should we do in gambling? Tbh, I don't get the idea behind it. Btw, for me, a good gambler is a person who's responsible enough with his own money. Someone who tries not to spoil his finances in gambling.

Anyone that cannot even control themselves in gambling is really going to be having a swell day in the shackles of addiction as time goes on. The reason why most gamblers find it hard to control themselves is just simply because they have these winning mindset in gambling which always end up putting them in a lot of problem in the long run. Times without number I have heard people say they want to win, as if the house edge is there to lose.

I agree with you, Good gambler is always good to control himself whatever the situation, sometimes he was make a decision in the right moment and it will refer a big win. Good players are not greedy, they have goals to follow, they know their limits everyday. Smart Gambler can make a huge amount of money if they choose the right time to make a bet, I talk about live games, not dice which depends only in pure luck.

A lot of people wonder what is the criteria of a good gambler, here are some of my thought about good gambler

a good gambler never chase profit
Profit might be the first reason why people gamble, but a good gambler never attached to the profit, the most important thing in gambling is excitement and fun experience, having profit is just the bonus

a good gambler able to control himself / herself
Self controlling is very important in gambling, without a clear mind there will be a lot of mistakes in betting and even causing reckless betting and losing all of the money in split second

a good gambler know when to stop
Setting a limit is very important in gambling, setting a lost limit will prevent you to over spend your money and setting a win limit is  also important because in the long run the house got a bigger chance to win due to the house edge

a good gambler never cause any problem to the surrounding
A good gambler know that the chances of losing money in gambling is huge, so a gambler should never used daily needs money or borrowing money to gamble, and a gambler should never think of robbery or stealing to gamble

a good gambler can accept lost
When losing a good gambler won't blame the surrounding, cursing or accusing the  casino as fraud places, losing is the half part of gambling, if you can't accept lost then dont start to gamble

a good gambler should able to manage the time
A good gambler know how to split the time for family, for friends and for gambling, a good gambler never neglected family or friend just because of gambling

We must encourage people to become a good gambler, so people won't always have a bad judgement about gambler

It is very rare to see a good gambler because when you have been experience the negative effects of this gambling your mindset or your thinking will be change. Anyway, in my opinion being a  good gambler simply have a characteristic of:
1. Can control himself/herself in playing
2. Never chase a profit
3. Make sure that you will never addicted upon it.
4. Always be humble.
5. See it as entertainment not as income and etc

If all gamblers posses all this then there should be no gamblers doing crimes just to pay their gambling satisfaction. There are also no broken families or families that lost their financial life because of gambling. Take time to read this and make this possible in every one of us.

You cannot enforce anything because gamblers themselves need to understand the importance of such criteria for their better life. Even you will be enforcing, I believe it will not make any differences and all your efforts will go in vain. Gambling probably enables people to go in wrong sides of life and  it affects not just a gambler but they are family too. Even gamblers are not understanding this and not ready to come out of this problem is too. Very pathetic.

If gamblers come forward to listen to these criteria, probably we can have a clean gambling environment like peaceful gamblers and crime-free gambling houses. Unfortunately so far I have observed no gamblers will be ready to follow any such instructions. But it is our responsibility to enforce such criteria for the gamblers to follow all the time so that we will see no more families are suffering due to gambling.

Gambling is just a sort of fun and entertainment with profitable outcome if you got lucky and this should not be abuse to avoid mishandling that leads to corruption of assets and responsibility towards something that we should have to give priority like family and work. A good gambler has the ability to understand the current situation and eager to follow his limits to avoid greediness and loses and worst is relationship will compromise.

This post sums yp all the other threads in one single thread. I salute you for the efforts. Now that you have mentioned controlling one's self, I would like to add that it is quite hard to control yourself completely. However, you can fake yourself. When gambling, you should give the impression to others that you are relaxed, or you can do the opposite if it is in your favor. Also, a good gambler is someone with good manipulative skills. Being a manipulator is not that easy at all.

Good tips. But i think you are missing something very important. A good gambler should have a well thought out game plan (These include staking value for each round, types of games to and not to be involved in etc.) - except that gambler is just there for fun as your first point notes.

You know whats good about OPs advise to gamblers? His advise is applicable to traders. Seriously if you apply those in your trading strategy, you'll have better chances in gaining profit than losing in trading with the current market condition of trading Altcoins or Bitcoins.

Will,i respect your preference on how to become a good gambler,maybe its can give us good example for us here,that even we are a gambler we still have a dignity to maintain and thats is never to neglect our family,friends,the people who care us etc.by splitting our time to gamble and to the institution that we belong by giving them time and effort to recognize there presence.

There is no doubt that Op has touched some of the most basic situations of a gambler life and put it up in a nice way for which I feel the op deserves a bit thank you.

However despite op best efforts people are not going to follow it, we're gamblers that's how typical we're.

Honestly I don't really think there is a good or bad gambler we're gamblers and we'll always gamble and most of the op facts we'll conviently ignore. Be true to yourself and tell me that's not the case?.

Here in our country if you are a gambler, your personality seem to be tainted. You can never be good because it is the norm of our society that gambling is not good because it can cause you more trouble.
