This is quite interesting known to me, it turns out in gambling.. there's called a good gambler. Just be careful guys, because being like that.. it seems that's not easy, because in gambling is very easy to feel addict and finally forgetting to have to understand the situation or control yourself.
Agree with everything except the first point. Do you think that chasing profit is a mistake? Profit is what makes people interested in gambling, I mean it's more than just a bonus. Gambling is fun, but not if you lose a streak, you'll need a profit too. So I disagree with the first point, but for the other points, I'm with you.
If you disagree with this point then soon or later you will lose more money in gambling because your mindset has tuned for making a easy money from gambling. Fun players never expect a profit from gambling because they think that these are paid games so they will spend some limited amount on these games and will not expect to take that back. But luckily if they get back then they will have more fun but chasing to take back your money will be more dangerous in gambling.
Gambling is a game of fun but money makes it more interesting. Gamblers should be more responsible because on every action they do, there’s a consequences. A gambler must have all this thing, so they will be broken at the end of the day.
How can you say this is game of fun? People are coming here with low backgrounds. They don’t have much money. With the intentions to get their income increased with gambling, they come for playing and losing all what they have. Yes you can the rich party come for fun and enjoyment but for the normal economic status people, they don’t have any fun or entertainment purposes.

I believe that a good gambler must be fairly patient and disciplined. Good players understand that there is no point in continuing the game if they see that the game is not going and therefore they will not bet on the late betting rounds. Good players from time to time will make very unexpected decisions.
I agree with you, Good gambler is always good to control himself whatever the situation, sometimes he was make a decision in the right moment and it will refer a big win. Good players are not greedy, they have goals to follow, they know their limits everyday. Smart Gambler can make a huge amount of money if they choose the right time to make a bet, I talk about live games, not dice which depends only in pure luck.

A gambler never chases profit? yes, I conclude that in my self never chase profit because maybe you will lose everything because of it and that greediness will make you down in overall. This is actually not a criteria but rather a good quality of a gambler.You should really have these kind of characteristics so that gambling would able to destroy you since you do know on how to manage your money and time. Self awareness is one of the keys, thank you for the list so that newbie gambler would able to read this up and should put up into their minds that gambling is a harmful thing if you dont know how to control yourself.

I think OP just hit the stop here. Personally I would say that the his first say it all. A good gambler should be gambling for the excitement and fun it brings, and not for the profit. This alone should take care of all the other things. The problem is, that many gamblers still think that they can "beat the house", and end up entering in a spiral of bad decisions without really knowing it. If they just accepted that the most likely scenario is that they will lose money, they would only gamble to have a good time with friends, and things would go well no matter what.

It's a good list, but I think almost everybody already knows this, it's pretty general info. So I'm not sure how useful it actually is for people... If you're prone to addiction, this probably doesn't do much for you.
Also, I think that most people who are aware of this, still have a chance to become addicted. It's something that creeps up on you and before you even realize it, it's too late.

Yeah it's always easy said than done , the theory , the strategy that seems should make things easier to make money steady would useless when you have to face the reality yeah the emotion and the greed always win to take control over yourself. A good gambler never greedy all time about the profit but they do every thing with a clear mind and the gambler is controlling emotion as we know that Self control is very important in gambling and some time the mistakes happen in the betting so it is good for us to learn from that mistakes and if you not manage time and money in gambling you will lose all your money in seconds so every bet in the gambling should be timely managing and the gamblers should open eyes and mind to look for every thing.

While I agree with everything you have written here, I think they are too idealistic which never really happens in real-life situations. You cannot find someone who possesses all those because one way or another, you would encounter different problems or be confronted with unique scenarios. At best, I guess gamblers can only satisfy a number but NOT all your criteria. Maybe to be general about it, you are a good gambler if you profit more than you lose. And because of this, you do not end up empty-handed. This is basically it anyway.
This is a great summary for everything that is posted about what a gambler should be. I agree with the original poster that it should be done like that and there should be like a check mark if you are doing it regularly or a reminder if you have chased profit or something like that. Not following this criteria would mean that you could lose a lot or maybe you could go lucky it depends.
That's why gamble only can be done when they mature enough and I recommend if you're not ready for lose, better to stay away rather than sorry.
About Dan Bilzerian as pro poker player , I think he already did all things and he's also good gambler who able to control his guts and let the luck decide his fate !
All of that is easy to understand but those criteria are hard to apply because when addiction comes to you some of that will be ignore and you only want is to play and win you forget your limitations. I think all of us is a good gamblers in our own way, the better things to do is dont forget our limitation to avoid the great enemy which is addiction.
You can be like that only if you are calm at all times of your playing but how many gamblers can have it all at once? It's pretty rare to see a gambler like that coz we all know most of gamblers always getting by their emotion wether they are winning or lossing. I, as a gambler have the last 3 but the first 3, I always tried but it's not that really easy eventhough i'm winning or lossing.

People who usually make bad decisions are the ones who can't control themselves as they are always hoping for a come back or they are hoping that they will get their money back for winning something big, and it is hard for the casino has the upper hand in every bet.
As simple as that, self control really affects the outcome of our journey inside the gambling house, you can well manage your money if you have a goodself control and you will not be busted if you know when to stop and you can also win decent when you know when to quit, self control will teach you to
