This is a positive sign, some governments are understanding the advantages and possibilities of cryptocurrencies and this step of Ukrainian government will give a positive reason to learn to those governments which are against cryptocurrencies and I hope they will change their mind on this issue.

many things that I think about hopefully there will be an economic crisis in 2020 for some countries again bankrupt and switch to sit with us on the same train, this is what I think, oh yes hopefully this news does not disappoint bitcoin need a big adoption in all countries to be able faster developing, hopefully Ukraine can become a more developed country

They still need to develop and improve more aspects in propagating their cryptocurrency. Bitcoin took a lot of processes in order to achieve their goals and standards. Ukraine needs to reach those standards for their crypto to become a reliable cryptocurrency.

They need to promote and let their country and people to adopt their new currency. It will surely help their economy to rise and let them enhance their technology.
if this news is true I will support it and still see the latest news about this, let's see the development they are doing, at least there are also many adoptions there that become bitcon users and the crypto currency will be even better, the greater the number of adoptions the greater the strength of the crypto community in the future

Small? Any win for us right now is a big win, the Cryptocurrency market is just swinging wildly and not in a favourable way, it would add a couple billion $ and lose X3 that the next day, if Cryptocurrency payments are legal in Ukraine, then our dream of worldwide adoption is getting closer, more and more countries would be jumping on the bandwagon and gradually, Cryptocurrencies would reach it's full potential as everyone in the world would be using it as a payment method, one country at a time.

Looks like it's another case of fake and misleading news, cause I don't get any confirmations from Ukrainian sources, and the articles themselves don't lead to any sources.

Oh, really? Can't believe ....not!  Grin

In preparing the bill, Ukrainian lawmakers reportedly collaborated with European Union (EU)-funded crypto experts. Ukraine’s government will also be hoping that the adoption of the new laws will aid its quest in securing up to €500 million in financial assistance from the (EU).

And where all that money will go? If it's approved, we'll see.

Hopefully, they will donate some to bitcoinist so they can hire a real writer for their garbage articles.

Those 500 millions have already been paid and have NOTHING to do with bitcoin.

It is very good and great news for cryptocurrencies, it must be so started from small to global countries and hopefully in the year 2020 many other countries that legalize crypto, because with the legality of global crypto can increase the movement Bitcoin Price.
We are waiting is true bitcoin become legal currency payment in Ukraine or not, maybe just opinion for Ukraine want to adopt bitcoin as legal currency payment transaction because many big country want to banned bitcoin and give impact for other country allowed to banned bitcoin, but when big country like China want to allow using bitcoin as currency I think United State will lost reputation to banned bitcoin.

I know how things are run in Ukraine, it's only matter of time till they close that door. By this I mean anti-crypto law projects as soon as they find out it's doing no good for Ukrainian banking system. Let's hope for the best tho

It is excellent news to be able to use cryptocurrencies as a means of legal payment in Ukraine, only they are doing it for money which is a joke.

This is only a small picture, regardless of what their purpose as long as it's legal already and we can expect again the adoption will continue to grow.
Government being "pro crypto" is good for adoption and this is just increasing since other countries seeing Ukraine legalizing crypto might also consider following it especially if they see some benefits for economic improvement as well.

This is great news. The more this kind of thing happening the better for adoption. Counting it as property good.

That is a very good and extraordinary step taken by the Ukrainian government in adopting every existing regulation well, so at least crypto is not only an asset for investment, because the strong reason in legalizing crypto in Ukraine is a major mission there which where the Ukrainian government wants to fight systemic corruption. So with the adherence of every rule that applies then maybe it will become a model for all countries to have a broader view of digital technology and the blockchain itself.

Other governments must learn from this. I wonder which ones will create their own cryptocurrency first? It will be really exciting when countries develope their own cryptocurrencies. I wonder if you will get extra incentive to mine it? If they want to fight corruption maybe they should use bitcoin since it can be traced so officials can't waste money.

So, guys, I think it's a small but a win. A win of our crypto community! I hope there will be more such examples of accepting crypto in 2020. We will start with small countries and then go to global powers. What do you think?

There's the news https://bitcoinist.com/crypto-payments-now-legal-in-ukraine/

there is nothing on the news and the bill has not passed the votes just yet
and  don't see how it is positive for Ukraine as there will be just additional taxing for the crypto holders
you , basically , gain nothing but are now going to pay taxes on your trades and sale of coins
the problem with Ukraine is that the government  is super corrupt and every next one is worse than the previous
even if this bill passes , the taxes won't be serving anything good but will be spent on the things like paying debts to IMF and such

I poorly imagine the use of cryptocurrency as payments for public transport, I rather imagine it as a long-term investment. But I think the idea is not bad.
Well payments on public transport using cryptocurrency is really good specially is such cryptocurreny has lightning network implemented. Cryptocurreny being used in all daily expenses is a really good idea for crypto users, imagine walking cashless and still be able to survive.

In other developing countries, such as Ukraine, they are making arrangements for Bitcoin. Of course I don't know how serious they are about this. Bitcoin offers an alternative to the current economy. But it does not eliminate the current economy. Systems can be integrated.

This law is very large in volume and amounts to about one hundred pages. As far as I read it today, it is not dedicated to legalizing cryptocurrency in Ukraine, but to preventing attempts to legalize dirty money and combating the financing of terrorism, that is, Ukraine is implementing the FATF decision of June 21 this year and more than two hundred participating states are required to do the same. In particular, any transactions worth more than 30,000 hryvnias, that is, 1,300 dollars, should be checked and at the same time both the sender and the recipient of this money in cryptocurrency should be established.

That's just what it could mean as well.  It doesn't mean legal but a way to monitor possible laundering act in the country. Several Ukraine official had previously express as crypto loving Ukrainians which they own thousands to hundred BTCs. And it would also mean they can get money our of these crypto users, the money from taxing from BTC will be worth since their citizen were using BTCs already.

Why does it have to be "legal" you could always use crypto. Things don't need to be made legal. So if I create something it must become legal to be used? What a load nonsense. Is playing video games also legal in your country? Do they have to like write up laws to say it is legal? If I have something and want to trade it for something else I don't need to wait for anything to become legal I own them and can as I like with them.
This freaking FATF laws must also !@#$ off. How obsessed are these people? They act like everyone who owns crypto has some sort of link to the underworld  are laundering their money they have now stolen or some shit. My god what a bunch of bloody paranoid idiots. They just want your tax money and will use every excuse in the book to milk you of it.

There's the news https://bitcoinist.com/crypto-payments-now-legal-in-ukraine/
It may have a small impact now. But in the future of bitcoin we see it clearly and it's starting now.
Therefore, we will continue to support bitcoin and other altcoins as this will give us good income in the future.
Finally they have seen the use of cryptocurrency in seamless transaction providing hassle free and convenient way of paying. This is indeed a good good news legalizing the cryptocurrency for payment settlements however the citizen of Ukraine must be careful of using crypto and avoid any illegal contact with it as it levels the AML standards. As far as I know just earlier this year they already widespread the accepting of bitcoin as payment method in their public transportation, and now this, clearly the transition we are waiting is happening now. It may be slow but at least it has started.
