There seems to be quite a handful of victims in this ponzi lol.
Just curious why would you guys send more then .1 btc? is it cause you were greedy?
I think its a combination of factors, I've been having a look at CryptoDouble's page and documenting some of the user comments on my blog (link is in my signature)--many of the users have poor knowledge of the English language or are otherwise undereducated; I think it boils down to scammers using deceptive advertising and victims being uneducated on how these scams work. Unfortunately education is on the onus of the victims and no one else. If you're going to invest at least educated yourself as much as you can and be as skeptical as possible because money can be lost a lot more often than it can be found.
I do believe some people are just plain greedy, fully realize the likelihood of being scammed and can immediately understand the concept and still take the risk. Those complaining about the 'injustice' are perhaps willingly ignoring their wrong in investing in the website in the first place.
It seems to be a combination of people who are either gambling or risking their life savings (that is one of the beauties of bitcoin, even when the currency is small it can still go a lot further than conventional currency).
A lot of these people also willingly posted referral links around to their friends in return for a referral fee--in effect trying to promote their friends or anyone else to become the victim of a scam, and if you are the kind of person who does do that then you're the lowest form of person I can think of. That is if you were actually aware that this was a scam from the beginning, if you weren't then you should be either apologizing to or educating anyone else you tried to push into this scam.
At least some of the concepts success can be attributed to how illegal gambling has become in many societies, governments and religions have differing stances--bitcoin doesn't care about this. There are probably numerous people from these countries investing in this manner when they couldn't previously.
The fact a lawsuit has even been launched over this is preposterous - sure the scammers should be punished to the fullest extent of the law -
but don't try and kid anyone here that you actually thought the website was legit and not obviously going to disappear at some point in the near future and if you say otherwise you're basically admitting to being the most gullible of idiots.
