31. a4 seems to imply a plan with Ra1 and a5.

I like Rff8 with the idea of Rfc8. Our rook is not well positioned on f8 and would be better off on the queenside.

Earlier I thought we might want to double rooks on the f file. Now I see that your plan makes more sense.

I like the idea of g5, then h5 waiting to decide where to place our rooks until white reveals their plan.

30. Rb2

Prevents a4 and leaves the option of Ra1 open. I do not like the idea of of Re1 where both rooks and the king are left on a potential knight fork.  The queen side is where I see the potential opportunity for us.
