Based on the votes in this thread Team Monero has chosen to play Nc3+. Now it is time for Team Boolberry to respond. I will plan to count votes again tomorrow at approximately 0:00 UTC.

I hope someone does change. f3 is simply giving control away in the very next move.

It's gaining control of our Rook, I already explained how.

Ka1 is not a good position for King when it should be moving to the right. See @letsplayagame's last comment for a hint. It does not gain control of Rook from your explanation, but far more damaging is sequestering the King in a file and now black Rook will come into play and pin things further.

What you don't see is that Ka1 is unavoidable, just think about it, please.

And, would you care to explain me how our Rook wont be freed? You said "It does not gain control of Rook from your explanation", can you explain why?

Unless the vote changes, f3 will win 39 minutes from now after application of the tiebreaker rule (it reached 2 votes first)

We need a tie breaking mechanism. For example one can look at the result before the vote that led to the tie and use that instead.

I think we should move King instead to protect the pawns on the right (f,g,h)

What about Nxb7? Will that work? We grab the pawn but we are not improving our position. Undecided

I like the idea of f3 (to free our rook) but am scared of 32.f3 Nc3+ 33. Ka1 Ne2

I love extra pawns but our rook and King are still stuck after 32.Nxb7 Rc8

How about 32.Nb5 with the goal of capturing a3 instead of b7? At least our king would not feel as trapped in the corner afterwards.

The key to this endgame is piece activity. Good luck to both teams.

This seems more like general advice than advice for this move, but it is still something to think about.

Tbh, I don't see a problem with 32.f3 Nc3+ 33. Ka1 Ne2 then 34.Ne4. We are gonna have our Rook free.

Nxb7 is a very good move, but it can be done latter Smiley  I mean, the b pawn is going nowhere Wink and the problem by doing it now is 33... Nc3+ 34.Ka1 Ne4 harassing our f pawn and we ain't gonna be able to defend it because our Rook is already protecting the h pawn and file 1, so we will loose the f pawn if we don't move it now Sad

This may be my last post for several weeks. The key to this endgame is piece activity. Good luck to both teams.

My schedule does not allow time for any distractions right now, but you can expect my return by early next month. Depending on several factors I may decide to reveal my identity when I return. Whether that happens or not I do have some ideas to help Monero and plan to contribute more in the future.

Good luck in the tournament Smiley We are rooting for you.  Cool

I will be stoked if my prediction is right  Grin

I just saw the thread Lets play a game of Chess. It's fascinating to see @letsplayagame (who I suspect is GM Aronian) interested in crypto (BTC and allegedly aware of privacy focused technologies).

Let's pitch an idea of BTC vs CryptoNote chess match to him Smiley
