Add to that an extra 50% on top of the original losses as a form of compensation so that makes his pay up around $10.5m and finally for him to pick up the legal fees so the lawyers will not eat in to the final fee.
That leaves Paul Vernon with well over $10m and that is enough for him to live in Miami or anywhere else with his ex-wife and his Chinese girlfriend.
Come on Paul Vernon, have some heart...
Where exactly are you thinking paul got all this cash? He ran off to China to start his new exchange bitebi9, and it failed miserably because he was trying to convince everyone he was not involved. Even the Chinese company was saying they are not involved with cryptsy while using the code right outta the box. In any event, I Dont believe that he is the one who stole the 13k btc in the first place. He would have been smart enough to liquidate it fast and THEN take off.
Whoever stole those coins (I believe) lost / destroyed the keys. more than likely cause they were gonna get caught and didnt want to be found having them. There is no other reason for the coins to still be sitting in that wallet. Unless the person who stole the coins is in jail and will try to recover them when they get out. Additionally, There is no evidence that Paul is the one who wiped the servers that I am aware of. They were wiped for sure, but what would paul have gained from it? He already stole everything he could carry, and ran off not caring what was left as he was never coming back. No matter what was found on those servers, he would never have faced any repercussions over it. The server wipe looks more of a cover up after the fact. An employee who decided that they would get in trouble if anything were found on that server showing the truth about how much they knew. If the employees knew about the whole hack and stolen coin thing, they would be implicated and might even face jail time as they are unable to run away and leave the country like paul. So who had more to gain here? Try to figure out who had anything to gain from trashing the servers.
Just me looking around... what do I know.
Was there a login trail as to where the person was located who erased the servers? If I recall correctly, there's certain parts of the servers that ONLY Paul Vernon had access to. Please correct if I'm wrong, guys.
