What clocks? Got 930H/s on 1140@1625 on 1125 strap.

Wonder what kind of speeds wolf0 could get out of these.

Damn, that's impressive. I'm guessing hawaii BIOS needs to be edited in HEX to change the straps?

I was told by Eliovp that changing straps on hawaii doesn't help. Clearly he's wrong!

i haven't try on any other than 16.10.3, but if any gains on other drivers, i don't believe they are significant +- 5hs

Huh?
I remember having around 860-870 and doing 910-915 on windows with the wrong drivers, yeah.. most probably 950 on windhows now :p

You say with wrong drivers, which are those, and which are the good drivers?

Well, you tell me, i'm not a windhows miner.. i do read somewhere that 16.11 should be good?

No idea.. but i will let it run on windhows again,  Wink

A few questions to help me clarify.
I have done a few comparison on Polaris editor.HXD soon. Boo hoo all you like. The goal is to make a custom strap for specific memory. Samsung or Hynix ? This can then be used on any manufacturer's card that has that memory. For example, if I make a custom Samsung strap I can use this with any asus, gigabyte or msi gpu with Samsung memory?
With adjustments for each rom? Or the offset is the same no matter the brand asus gigabyte or msi? For non ref cards. Of course since amd programs all ref they are universal.

Realizing some card may differ because one may cool the memory better than other. So this is not 100% the case but basically?

Thanks for the great thread. Really what I have been looking for. I though at most 5 or 6 setting not 22. Wow. Great knowledge to learn and apply now and hopefully in the future.

If it's earlier than RAS, but it matters, it's probably PMG.
I think in preRX PMG is later than RAS, although it is earlier in RX. At least i am guessing it is PMG.
I am more interested about first and third 32bit words from the end of timing string.
First 32bit word from the end looks like set of four bytes with some Ts
(they are growing from strap to next strap in almost all cases).

It's PMG. Oh, first and third? That would be your ARB_DRAM_TIMING2 and your MISC_TIMING2, IIRC.

Anyone know what register[7] contains?

Code:

I dont get it, you said 1250/2075. On the screenshot i see vddc 0.950 which is amazing if the core is really 1250, but you cut it off from the shot. and the mem shows 2025, so is it really 0.950 on the 1250/2075 or these are diff settings on the shot?

Its 1320/2025. You can see that on the shot... look at GPU-z Tongue It's pretty nice core for -60~mV

I wasnt sure its from the same moment, because oen was screenshot the other one is camera photo. Anyway if it is 1320 on 0.950 is amaing.

It was only the wind.

900H/s is a vanity hashrate - it's absolute max and not efficient. 825 - 875 is probably real.

I have been playing with Elpida (EDW4032BAB) 0.85v memory and clock for a day or so, so far I reached 820 h/s on XMR, It needs a lot of work yet, low share difficult rejection rate is around 10% which is bad, memory error is low, need time to improve, it has been fun, after this will be time to play with Hynix.

Got an Elpida 470 4G, best card i've got, does 850h xmr, 30eth, 280zcash without a hickup.

I always thought Hynix would be the better performer but i was wrong. (i'm talking about 470 Hynix, 480's do a shitload better, 850 without a problem..)
And there's a serious difference in Hynix quality.

If you have Elpida's, be glad, they are in my opinion the best ones out there!

Samsung is very decent as well, got my 480 8G's at 800 (can easily do 840-850 as well) core clock 1100, mem 2050 and an undervolt of -120mV vddc.

So in the 80 watt range Smiley

Is this claymore 9.7 windows?   I have a elpida running 1100/2050 and its barely over 700 on sgminer.

Nope - he doesn't run Win anymore, I don't think, and I think it's on sgminer.

I think sgminer is faster, maybe 900hs with same clock Smiley

Well, prove it, linux + sgminer..

If you can do 900 on linux, stable for longer than 12hrs, i will fly over and personally shake your hand on my knees, and you can take a picture of that..  Wink

I say "maybe" read again my post Wink 860hs with claymore miner 1300/2100 is great results Wink

You know what a great result is..

I'll show you..

Core clock 1250, memory clock 2075 , -69mV vddc.

850h Linux, sgminer

RX 480 8G

i'll run this on windows with clay clay, i will most probably hit the 900 marker and go over it if i raise that core even higher.  Wink

What is your vddc with -69mV offset?

I took a screenshot for you on windhows.

Bye bye 900 marker.

915h, core 1320, mem 2025

Got 908 with core 1266 and mem 2050 stable as well.

 Cool

Edit: linux after 10hrs 850 rock solid.

Nice result Eliovp, if Windows+clay is better, why not use this combo? Funny that I get better results with win+sgminer combo (about 5-10h/s more than claymore).
Seeing that you guys achieved more, it's probably time for me to get back to the drawing board. I obtained my timings using claymore+win to test, maybe I should have used sgminer instead, seeing that it's faster, and also, maybe it liked some of my other test timings better.

I feel that r9 390 should obtain better scores though, has a ton of bandwidth, so I think that some really tight timings on a 1100-1200mhz mem clock (the 512bit bus will do the rest), should top off any RX card easily.
