It was only the wind.
I am interested in purchasing custom Elpida and Samsung roms for XMR mining with  Nitro+ RX 470 OC cards (4GB and 8GB). If you have stable custom roms available please message me with a quote. Thanks.

dude, for free i will help you out.im mining with xfx rx470 4gb black's with elpida. all 24 at doing 28.3mhs on eth and 110ish watts each.

Thanks for the offer buddy Smiley.  I am getting around 28 mhs in ETH and getting around 700 h/s in XMR. These cards are undervolted, with clocks @ 1100/1950 and 1500 straps. Was reading about some folks getting upto 900 h/s while mining monero and was interested in getting similar results.

900H/s is a vanity hashrate - it's absolute max and not efficient. 825 - 875 is probably real.

I would be willing to buy in that range as long as it is stable.

Let me know.

I think sgminer is faster, maybe 900hs with same clock Smiley

Well, prove it, linux + sgminer..

If you can do 900 on linux, stable for longer than 12hrs, i will fly over and personally shake your hand on my knees, and you can take a picture of that..  Wink

I say "maybe" read again my post Wink 860hs with claymore miner 1300/2100 is great results Wink

You know what a great result is..

I'll show you..

Core clock 1250, memory clock 2075 , -69mV vddc.

850h Linux, sgminer

RX 480 8G

i'll run this on windows with clay clay, i will most probably hit the 900 marker and go over it if i raise that core even higher.  Wink

What is your vddc with -69mV offset?

No no, do it on linux with sgminer Smiley

So if you use macOS you would say do it on macOS...
Anyways all my rigs are on windows, all my friends rigs are on windows, everyone i know is mining on windows..
Sorry i won't install linux just to prove you that my modification can do 800+ on it lol.

Even if it can't it doesn't bother me because i am just into increasing hash = more earnings, doesn't matter if its on freebsd, ubuntu, windows lol

I have cards like yours and I use Linux - I can test your rom and make screenshots for the community Cheesy

I would agree its not bad.

I flashed this on windows, strongly based off Heliox older work, just to see what barely breaking 800 on Linux gave me on Clayclay windows, since people like to shoot down my/his work because they almost get as much on Windows/Claymore than we do on Linux/sgminer-gm.

This is with undervolted vbios, i wonder what i would get if i overvolted the f out of it ? Smiley But this mod is very bad compared to 850 on Linux.

I think that mod above from Heliox would probably break 900 at fairly low core... It seem like you can get 10% more on windows vs linux, which should help all of you evaluate how good a mod is when you see sgminer/linux.

Do you visualize or simulate your timing parameter changes, or make them and test them live?

I usually make them and test them live, but I know some depend on the values of others, so I often adjust for that.

What about eth h/r with this custom timings?

I've gotten up to 30MH/s on linux, little more, but honestly, with Eth profit being in the shitter and XMR consuming far less power, who cares? Tongue

i don't know why are you stuck with the voltage thing?
If you can't lower it by -100 then you simply won't do it, the hashrate stays same (or even better) if i don't undervolt.

The point is the ~ 850hs at 1260/2100 with samsung memory. Thats stock core/+100 mem, which doesn't add on the power consumption.
On full stock 1260/2000 i get around 815hs.

Will put this rom tomorrow on my 5x470 rig and run with sgminer if that's whats "the thing".

I want to see you do 800 + .. Wink

There's a thread from a client of mine testing a 480 4G rom i did for him, i got 800ish on lniux.. he did 850 with ease on windows..

That's my point..

The undervolt point is fairly simple. Card A has an asic quality of X percent (a low one!), which means it has an X amount of leakage, which means it can easily be undervolted and will remain perfectly stable.
CardB has an asic quality of X percent (a high one 'yeah sounds weird..'), which means it has a different amount of leakage and will not easily undervolt.
If you happen to have a good batch, your cards will handle that. If not, you will have systems crashing non stop.

I had a very good batch of Nano's, i could easy do -125mV VDDC and -175!!mV MVDDC, on all of my 100 nano's, others with the same reference design nano's couldn't even handle -100mV MVDDC....

Again, that is my point....

My custom timings for 470 8GB Nitro+ OC (11256-02-20G) - Samsung mem

For the powersaver guy :
(1126/2100 @ -120mV)

For normal usage guy :
(1300/2100 @ -100mV)

Congrats, you have a card that won the sillicon lottery...

You do realize that 98 out of 100 cards like that can't handle -100mV while running 1300 core??

Try this on a 6xGPU rig.. and while NOT using claymore.. if you can do that, i will say: Congratulations to you sir.

This is normal for 470 NITRO+

I have 6x gpu rig same card all full stable 1300mhz/2125 -100mV for Zcash & XMR, for eth Use lower gpu clok 1150/2125 -175mV

Why do you think that 1300 is much when the def clock is 1266 ?  Roll Eyes

Also why not claymore ? Not enough power hungry? Better sgminer ? Why?

Also im running a 5xGPU rig with -120mV for weeks now on ETH (145mhs)...

Read your post.

1300 core with a down-volt of -100mV..  (which is very unlikely to last long (perhaps on a few cards..))

then you say: "for the power savings guy.." core 1126 <-- that's almost minus 200 core!! and you lower voltage by -20mV in comparison with the other one.... am i the only one who finds this disturbingly ridiculous?

I was talking to a friend of mine, who is one of the few out here who can also successfully add vddc/mvddc/vddci offsets in a rom, we will, just because windows seems to be the the new thing in the mining world...  Roll Eyes , we will, as soon as we find a few spare minutes, we will setup a windows rig and play along.

I checked it now for you:

Idle : 105w from wall
Working : Hash ~ 807 H/s, VDDC : 0.8938 V, 197w from wall

Thanks and nice results.

Is there a way to read GPU memory error counter in linux?
In windows it seems hwinfo does it somehome.
Something on i2c bus perhaps?

dmesg usually tells you, at least if you fuck up bad.
