OK so I bought ETH a while back when it was 600 dollars.

Now that ETH is 275 is it a good move to sell my ETH and buy back in? Wouldnt profit be faster when market picks up like that or not?

Please help me understand

It is now too late for you to cut your loss on Ethereum because the current price now is only at 100 dollars. If you’re so patient enough to wait for the price to come back at 600 dollars or beyond that then that’s good.
I think you can now sell part of the eth, and try to buy below, I think we have a good fall , and then it will be possible to reduce your losses, still can not see the bull market and you can try to use the chance

I want to ask you, why you buy eth at 600 $? is it for investment? if it's for investment then selling it is the wrong thing what you need to do in investing is time and patience.
if you are a trader and sell your assets when prices fall very deep then you are an amateur trader.
Sometimes it is better to sell off your investment to avoid further loss. Instead of just holding it and watching your investment value go down, if you think the price will dip further, then just sell off your investment. Once the minimum point has been reached, buy back the equivalent value. This time you will be having more coins than before and will actually be making more profit than what you would have made holding before selling.

Of course correctly, you can do so, and when the market rises, you get your profit in full, that's just have to wait when it will be, I hope that ten years for this too long.
it's hard to find a reasonable price in the near future, but 10 years in my opinion is too long. 2 years I think the price will go up and not easy for the coin for that long unless you really have a strong trading principle.

With this situation, cut losses is the worst decision because the price of market is low, if you cut losses that means you are cutting your hand.

if I think it's a bad idea, because I've lost 50% more. I think then it is necessary to hold, because ethereum is long-term

Best to cut loss within the 10-15% loss. Accepting the loss is the most difficult part but if the market falls further like it did, you'd be happy you cut loss.

in my opinion, the cut-up above 10% is already very severe and should not be repeated again, especially if it occurs in ETH, BTC, EOS or other major coins which of course still has the potential to recover. Cut loss at a major coin like that is the most careless thing.

A deep decline. Moreover, the market is saturated, if the cut loss then buy back, the recovery will be long enough. The decision is in your own hands, dwyor. Hopefully there are good developments so that your capital can return.
it's true that most people can stop the loss in their own hands, because if you make a good decision you can stop losses and get income so that the main capital can return

Just wait a little longer. If you have bought some crypto currencies at the high prices, relax and wait at least till the prices will recover. If you cut your losses you will only decrease your portfolio without any benefits.

Sense to sell cheaper than buying?
Should always be additional free funds for buy with interesting drawdowns.
Of course there must be free funds. But the OP is not a pro and he has not yet understood that there should always be free funds for purchases.
He is great that he is trying to find a way to improve his financial condition now. In his situation, such a strategy is good. I think that he will draw the right conclusions for the future. I see the potential in OP to be a great trader.

It depends on your decision and your strategy mate if you think that you can get benefits from it you can do it,because there is also a cutlosses that the purpose is to increase the tokens we hold.

If you didn't planning to hold your coins for long time period, you should sell your coin when it dropped more than 20%.
Cutting loss is necessary if you are not a long time holder. Now ETH price is around $100, you will need long time to hold if you want to keep holding until it hit your buying price. Cutting loss now is too late, your ETH has dropped from $600 to $100, better keep holding for long.

I don't think it's a good idea. You gonna lose too much if you sell at this time, better for you to hold it until the price recovers from the recent decline.

Sometimes when we are told to sell the coins we have and take our profits, we behave like it is not good and useful to us, until we eventually lost.
Although, i lost part of my investment during the initial bear market in this year, but afterwards, i sold them off, so as not to incur more losses.
I then decided to keep part of the fiat, which is what i am now using to purchase the bear market.

Of course this option is also possible. If you sell your eth at a higher price and buy it back at a lower price, then in time you will have much more coins than you did with the original purchase. And when the price of the eth finally begins to recover, you will get a good profit.

Cryptocurrency needs to be bought at the lowest possible prices, and sold at the highest possible. Only in this case, we can hope for a profit. If you bought ethereum at a price of $ 600, then selling it for $ 275 will bring a loss. In order to make a profit in this case, it is necessary to sell it when this coin will cost more than 600 dollars. Given the current state of the cryptocurrency market, it will not be soon.
