Bitcoin is popular now so bitcoin enthusiast do offer that services, one click in google and you will find sites that accept bitcoin for an international flight. I'm not into it yet since my budget would not allow me but like you I am also getting the benefits of paying my bills online with bitcoin.

For now, it's not so convenient TBH. Although some stores, corporations, and businesses are starting to accept it as a form of payment, the number is still pretty low and you can't completely rely on Bitcoin for your daily transactions.

About Starbucks, there might be some waiting involved but I am not sure about this one since I have never tried to pay them through BTC.

Hi friends,

As far as I know, bitcoin payments take a little time to approve. Will these approval times make it difficult to use bitcoin in our daily lives?
For example, I would get a coffee from Starbucks. Do I have to wait for approval to pay for what I have done for hours?
This is not a big and complicated thing for us to wait until the confirmation done because in my opinion the bitcoin has also another options to get paid with confirmations .
Let take here the example of the zebpay , if you will pay the payment from zebpay to zebpay then you don't need to pay any charges and second thing you also don't need for the confirmation at all .
So here it is possible that in the future that any new service of the Blockchain or any of the shop of Starbucks launch from which we can pay like zebpay .
Everything is possible to make bitcoin more effective in our daily life, third party businesses who are very supportive with bitcoin are looking at the possible weaknesses of bitcoin and they fill that by providing their service like what you cited in your example.

I don't think there is a need to wait for the confirmation, if a fee recommended or little above is paid you'll get faster confirmations. Other than this once after sending the receiver end gets the transacted amount under the unconfirmed transaction list. This itself helps the receiver a hope of receiving the payment.
And with a debit card you don't have to pay anything to move the transaction through.  In fact, it's always instantaneous.  And there's no need to buy another currency just to spend it.  This is why no one is ever going to use bitcoin at Starbucks.   On silk road yes, not not for your daily morning coffee.

I paid for airplane tickets with it, for an international trip. Also exchanged it to refill a pre-paid card to use at this trip, and in daily use. This happened in 2015 when BTC was ~$300. Since January 2016, I'm holding my BTC (a fair amount, IMO), hoping that it reaches $10.000 Grin

Wow for real? What website you used for buying your tickets for your journey? As of now, I'm using my bitcoins with popular service just like what others are saying here and that is with mobile prepaid. And for a monthly basis, I'm paying my monthly bills by using bitcoin which is very good in my feeling that helps me save a lot of time and money.

I think there will be more services to come in the near future, so let's keep pushing bitcoin to be more popular.

BitCoin is slow, always has been slow and not good for day to day transactions as a currency. It's a good store of value, but not good as a low fee, fast transaction currency. Paying higher fees on microtransactions isn't good either.
i do not think that bitcoin transaction is slow because bitcoin transaction is no.1 fastest in the world and bitcoin transaction take few minutes and people feel too much easy with bitcoin transaction.
The transaction of bitcoin is not slow or is not very fast. The transaction for me is exact only why? Because I experienced when I recieved bitcoin the transaction is fast but sometimes the transaction is slow like you need to wait 24 hours before to confirmed. It depends to the fee if you add some fees the transaction for sure will be fast and it depends also in prioritize. But bitcoin is good to transaction.

Transaction would be depend in the location of the person. Due to if the data connection of the internet has a good signal transaction at once will be done in a minute only.

My daily used of bitcoin was money transfer, I most often doing this thing to my relatives and sometimes for bills of payment and of course I en-cash it first to our currency before I can use it as payment in the remittance outlet and billings.

Bitcoin may not make sense for short purchases. But I think it would be more suitable for long term shopping.
For example, we can make payments for a product that we receive as installment with bitcoin. In fact, we can use bitcoin in the payment of products like coffee. When we enter an appropriate fee value, our transactions are confirmed within 10 minutes.
With the bitcoin transaction getting slower I see the idea of using bitcoin on daily basis is kind of hard, because think of it going to buy coffee like you said and you send the shop keeper the bits and then what you sit like for 20 minutes 30 or 40, bitcoin is still not in that kind of state I think and it seems that the best option for us is just to earn bitcoin and then just exchanges it to fiat when the prices are high and buy stuff with it.

Well bitcoin really struggles in getting the position of a world wide currency that is not gonna happen in my opinion, we bitcoin enthusiast are the only one that are targeting that thing and still many people that don't know about bitcoin doesn't give a thing about it even thought many people are earning with it and changing their live through it we still needs to convert it to fiat money!

We also have here a Starbucks which is also bitcoin accepted, but on my experienced I never encountered to wait for an hour it was a couple of minutes then the confirmation is done. Maybe that would be depend in the location of the internet connection.

I agree with you, Bitcoin transactions are quick when you put a sufficient fees in your transactions. I think daily use of bitcoin is awesome. bitcoin will be more power of this use. I am using bitcoin a lot of times in one week. It's good for this community and generally for bitcoin as a cryptocurrency.

Almost no one in a first world country needs to use bitcoin on a daily basis. They are just idealist purchases. Using bitcoin is slower and less inefficient with everyday in person payments than cash or credit. Uncensored transactions/ online transactions is where they shine.

We have an option right now if you want fast transactions you should increase the fee for every transaction to avoid long delay when receiving or sending. .
And we have now an accelerator which is can help you to get confirm fast..
You can check here https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ and maybe it can help you increase the transaction  speed..

He wasn't talking about just the slow confirmation times but high fees as Bitcoin being used in our daily lives for the purchase of petty things cannot have high fees which will make trading difficult because not everyone can buy in bulk at once and hence this challenge will render it's daily use unpractical.
