There is talk about dash being used to provide payments via sms but it's only available in venezuela. If the technology is there will it be rolled out to other countries as well?

Deterministic Masternode List
Now, the network uses a single source of truth (the deterministic masternode list) to determine the recipient of the masternode portion of the block reward in a transaction,
rather than relying on peer-to-peer messages to work this out. In addition, when quorums of masternodes are used to validate transactions, the quorum is determined by
information found on the blockchain itself. This ensures that nodes come to agreement on which masternodes get included in a quorum, because rather than maintain its own
masternode list, a node can pull the data from an on-chain, single source of truth.

Automatic Instant Payments
The team is also excited to now offer network users automatic instant payments for transactions with 4 or fewer inputs. These transactions represents over 90% of transactions
on the Dash network, so almost all users will benefit from this feature — at no additional cost. The system will attempt to “lock” any transaction with 4 or less inputs by default,
and remove the additional fee that historically was needed for instant transactions.

Dash Core Group (“DCG”) announced in July 2017 the formation of The Dash DAO Irrevocable Trust, with the intent of ensuring the operations of Dash Core Group would be effectively controlled and governed by the Dash network.
Work setting up the Trust was completed in late December of 2017 and publicly announced in January of 2018. The Dash network is the ultimate beneficiary of the Trust, and the Trust owns 100% of the shares of Dash Core Group Inc.
With this setup, DCG took the first step to ensure that the Dash network would always have full control over the direction of the project, without resorting to the drastic and disruptive step of defunding DCG and developing an entirely
new team to replicate its primary functions.

The ownership structure of DCG established a fiduciary duty to the Trust (and indirectly to the network itself). This enables the network to safely permit DCG to accumulate a significant balance sheet of assets for the benefit of the network,
allowing it to become more resilient to future market downturns. It also enables the network to replace the leadership team of DCG instead of necessitating replacement of the entire organization should it determine DCG’s performance is unacceptable.

However, thus far, the network has not had direct power over Dash Core Group Inc., other than through the proposal decisions, because the six “Trust Protector” positions overseeing the Trust were initially populated with DCG team members.
To complete the process of establishing the intent of the Trust, we are organizing elections for Trust Protectors, who will have the ability to oversee and replace DCG directors. The Trust Protectors will be a new tool in the hands of the network to
shape the future of the project.

April’s first day looks too greener for Dash cryptocurrency, the 13th largest cryptocurrency at the moment.
The coin has surged 15.2% higher on April 01, 2019 and stood as the hottest altcoin of the day.

On the back of the Dash Core Release v.0.14.0 (on Testnet), DASH saw a massive bullish wave over the past few days. Dash [DASH] pumped to become the highest gainer in the top-20 coin list,
overtaking IOTA [MIOTA] and Monero [XMR] to become the 13th largest cryptocurrency in the market.

Pegged on three core features, the new update is touted as a “milestone for the Dash Core protocol.” Its primary feature is the Long Living Masternode Quorums or LLMQs which will improve scalability
via enhanced consensus and build on the cryptocurrency’s use-cases.

Lol and you need dash coin to be dasher. That's april mop and so many threads have already discussed that. theymos will always try to give us a new surprise in 1st april. I just feel doubt about is this a true story?

This thread is only moderated on two words : scam and premine, as both of those words are often falsely used by trolls who want to press Dash into
either the scam corner or the premine corner. Dash does not belong in either corner.

Dash Core v0.14, recently introduced to testnet, is the next major delivery milestone for the Dash Core protocol. This release includes the following major features:

Long Living Masternode Quorums (“LLMQs”), which will increase scalability through improved consensus and expand the universe of potential use cases of the network;
LLMQ-based ChainLocks, which leverage LLMQs to improve network security by mitigating 51% mining attacks; and
LLMQ-based InstantSend, using LLMQs to reduce the messages propagated on the network for InstantSend transactions, which increases the scalability of InstantSend on the network.
(Note: LLMQ-based InstantSend may be released to mainnet in a minor release, after the first two features have been introduced.)
This release also includes some Bitcoin backports, legacy cleanup, and general optimizations. Full release notes will be available closer to the mainnet release.
