Tycho

any chance of adding standard port like 8080 to allow those of us behind a firewall that block all none standard port to use your pool?

Nothing can be done to make this chain of transactions be confirmed faster, sorry.

Look at this example -
http://blockexplorer.com/tx/109031c6966988f417a7a7bd5ce44ae73c8d08a1e81ee7b9b1692426a9f26915#i1334733

It's one of those transactions. Output 1 is the payment to one of pool's users and Output 0 is the change going back to the pool's wallet.
Click on the "Redeemed at input" of output 0 and you'll see the next payment. Some bitcoins will be paid and instead of 289.61 BTC the change will be 287.61. Then you click on the "Redeemed at input" of output 0 again and you'll see next one. Clicking again and again you will reach 243.55 and with each hour this chain gets slowly confirmed. When it will reach zero, all those delayed transactions will be confirmed.

I just did a manual payout and i't coming though so far with 1/unconfirmed, so it looks like that one should be fine with a few more blocks. my 5.38 sent to 1Kf17qyRuU4AnY4vxMARDmLFuWqocwoGih still isn't showing up on blockexplorer, but my client still sees it at 0/unconfirmed.
well mine is not seen at all for 19 hours now.

maybe those who see those transactions should connect to some central nodes or something so they would be properly distributed?

because they are not seen on blockexplorer or bitcoincharts, while lots of other newer 0 priority transactions are seen. as far as i understand those are candidates for inclusion into blocks so if no one sees them they cant include them in new blocks regardless of priority.

i wonder why deepbit pool does not do that? it should see those transaction so why not pick them up?

my theory is that those transactions are somehow incorrectly formed and so are not accepted as valid by majority of clients.

maybe i am wrong though, i did not study the protocol very closely.

too bad there is currently no way to cancel transactions that are not yet included in any blocks.

I'm also sitting on a transaction with 0 confirmed that my client saw at 4:21 PM EDT yesterday (15 hours ago). it's for 5.38 BTC sent by the automatic payout system.

I understand long blocks and having to wait an hour or two, but 15 hours with no confirmations and plenty of valid blocks being processed is hard to understand.

I think at this point we need to take some form of action to find the problem as it seems clear it isn't just waiting on a long block.

I got unconfirmed in my wallet for 1.23btc, and it's been their since 16:48. It's 22:00 now. Is something wrong?
No. Sometimes  confirmation may take up to a few hours, it's normal. Especially today and for free transactions.

Tycho, is there any possibility that an alternative port could be setup for unfortunately for me, my best PC is behind a firewall that blocks most communication to non-standard ports. :/

+1

I got a couple PC behind a firewall that block non-standard ports too, would be great if you can use other standard port like 8080 also

Now that I'm out of newbie-hell on the forums I'd like to suggest that this now 160 page "forum" disguised as a single thread has now grown to the point (along with slush's thread) to a sub-forum of 'Pools"

http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=17462.msg223800#msg223800

Thoughts?

I'd really like to be able to use a RSS reader focused on deepbit pool only.  Can't do that with a single thread...

Boards within boards within boards...

No different than Pools being Bitcoin Forum->Bitcoin->Mining->Pools.
Just make Bitcoin Forum->Bitcoin->Mining->Pools->DeepBit!
There are so many parallel conversations going on that should really be separate threads just to keep them straight...

Not to mention remembering the last page I was at...

I get that when a pool starts you wouldn't create one right away as they might be some fly-by-night deepbit wanna-be.  But there is a critical mass at which its time to give them their own bucket.

Theymos will have to do it. I don't mind seeing subforums for the three largest pools (the ones I have stickied atm), but I don't have the power to make them.

Well, apparently Theymos feels that having 62% of the messages in 3 threads is just fine.  His solution?
Quote from: theymos
Just create new threads outside of that one. I'll only create a subforum if there are many threads.
When pressed that the pools are using single threads as forums, was basically told the pools should run their own fourms.  Nice community spirit:

Maybe Deepbit should create its own forum, then. This forum is not responsible for maintaining an environment friendly for support issues related to specific pools.

Oh well.  Not sure why changing it is such a big deal.  Guess I'll see you all on page 7000!

It's slowly catching up.

Some payments were "trapped" in this long chain of unconfirmed transactions. Please wait.

I have the same problem, 0.12 BTN were sent to my wallet via the Auto payment once the system started working again.

Transaction: bd5f2d16d704a439ff452560f03bf4c2a176a0bc1c07ed4b006b0548971ccf68 (it's not listed anywhere).

According to the stats, about 5 hours have passed since and I'm still at 0 confirmations :/

this transaction is an old one, it's ok. also WebMonkey is not me, probably he has the same problem or something.
also what does that "not yet redeemed" mean? probably that it has not been spent yet?
my client is running fine thank you. I restart it regularly and always check if the last block is correct.
I found a chain of unconfirmed transactions that is not completely reached bitcoincharts yet. Looking into this.
