I got notification from both Mtgox & Slush pool that Mtgox account hacked & compromised & password was taken, I tried to change deepbit password, which gave me this error after entering old & new password & clicked change password.

It seems only option to change password is to use password recovery.
Also i am not sure that their is restriction to use how many characters or numbers totally for password. I tired with 18 characters can't able to change.
Don't know the reason.

Bro, is that seriously your email address?   You need to edit it out asap.

Ach, my apologies, the proxy I was using filled the details in automatically, never thought to check what it was actually asking me for.

The site seemed to block my connection a few weeks ago but let me back in a few days later, so I assumed it would do the same now. The only thing I can think of is my IP ending up blocked whilst your site was being hit with DDoS attacks.

Same with me.

Glad it's not just me going crazy.

I understand you're probably busy a lot of the time Tycho, but I'd really appreciate it if you took a quick scan of your firewall and whatnot for me.

Bitcoin Mining ____2011-2013
hello.

i don't understand this. in statistic of deepbit:

Block 131803
my share:   115
pool share:  2965964
reward:       0.00068679 btc
mode: prop.

but when i count this:  50* (115/2965964) = 0.001938661427

and so on every block - less reward
where is the mistake??

Well, glad I didn't leave that much in my deepbit account...
This was through a proxy, seems my real IP is blocked.
When have you registered and what was your login name ?
"Orcworm" doesn't looks like valid e-mail to me. And I don't see any actions with this name in last weeks of my logs, only the one login attempt today.

Say goodbye to the run of fast block solves.  I just switched to Propo! Cheesy

I rambled about DNS, but that might have nothing to do with the problem on your end.  I believe that pit.deepbit.net resolves to the address of whatever server in the pool that deepbit wants you to use. Tycho?  DNS load balancing?
Mostly for failover and anti-ddos functions.

but history column is delayed by one hour
why is that anyways? other pools offer live stats.
At one time, there was a method of pool jumping which supposedly maximized profitability.  It required knowledge on the progress on the current block.  Some pools solved this by moving to a score based system [Slush and BTCMine] and this pool simply doesn't show block stats for an hour [or longer if a block were to take more than an hour to be solved which isn't that likely].

With the high hash rates and when blocks / hour were high, pool jumping was more difficult and I don't know if it is a viable option, especially considering the amount of work it would take to do for any significant profit.
Stats delaying is not effective anymore, so a new measures may be deployed.

you can connect to the IP fine for the website but looks like the DNS is broke as its not resolving. I am sure when Tycho gets up he will repair it...

Or switch too a public DNS other than your ISP, such as Google DNS or OpenDNS.  Do read the privacy information however (not as if your ISP can't collect the same information).  Many DNS do not properly honor TTL, especially small TTL and may return an old address when a new one has been setup.  You can always setup a DNS on your own machine [BIND is available for Windows] and running your own caching DNS, which avoids much of the privacy concerns if you have them about your ISP or public DNS (lookups are not encrypted, so privacy is only through obscurity).

I rambled about DNS, but that might have nothing to do with the problem on your end.  I believe that pit.deepbit.net resolves to the address of whatever server in the pool that deepbit wants you to use. Tycho?  DNS load balancing?  I know that every time that I checked in the last minute the address is the same (could be local caching or really only one address resolves to pit.deepbit.net)..

Why on Earth would they need to watch the forums? They can attack whenever they please. What benefit do they get from watching this thread?
May be to check when admin is sleeping ? Smiley

I know that you never sleep.  Four one hour naps a day made Einstein happy Smiley

We pay a competitive price:
    * Pay per share: 0.00005129803015564 BTC per every sumbitted share
    * Proportional: your part of every solved block less 3% fee
so the pps is actually as low as 0.00005129803015564 * 0.93 = 4.7707168 × 10^-5 ?
No.
It says that 3% fee is for Proportional only.
PPS fee is already subtracted from shown share price.

Wrong answer was cached by DNS server, this will be solved after some timeout.

PMI, but how long does it take for a payout type to kick in (ie. switching from PPS to Proportional, or vice versa)?  I was under the impression that you finish up the current block and then you get switched over by the next block.  But I just switched to Proportional and there's been 5 or 6 blocks go by since I switched and I haven't seen my BTC count move at all.  And the block history column is showing + 0.00000000 BTC as if I was still under PPS for those blocks.  Is there some kind of delay where you don't earn any BTC between switching between payout types?
Mode switch is instant, but history column is delayed by one hour, so you will see proper values after one hour.

Think for yourself
Still down?

strange can hit deepbit from a remote location but no from home where my miners are and there all down. can hit any other website on the net and double checked dns and it going to the correct ip just cant connect with miners, webpage or ping.. comcast blocking??

That's odd I'm having no trouble connecting to the site or mining server.

You just had to say it, didn't you? Smiley
