crypto currency and anonymity  is a "do not trust" system but come to think of it rpietila is the only person with a name, picture and info about him on this thread..i'm not saying that we follow him, maybe we can learn something from him.

He was posting that as evidence that everything was running as planned, not trying to make false claims.

It is sad that this thread has turned to be worship of me, but since the matter has surfaced:

The Haikko conference for me was more like a dream.

Lol, you barefaced liar. It was a nightmare for you!

http://paste.ee/p/nv6e1#ETTSpaJkqv5t4RM4kJ2vh9qw6kieSf8z

You legitimately tried to sue the hotel for 10 million euros ~100,000 BTC at the time
because you forgot your laptop in the sauna and the staff were walking around
You suspected the staff members of hacking you, you suspected the other attendees of conspiring against you.
you went CRAZY. bonkers crazy.
you were then taken into pyschiatric ward in finland shortly afterwards against your own will. literally had no shoelaces and no access to sharp cutlery for your own safety.

I am currently detained in a psychiatric institution in Helsinki

that was your manic phase. 1 million USD per BTC phase. Now you tell everyone the same old shit with XMR- that it will reach few thousand dollars.. 35 biillion dollar market cap? you are crazy.

I don't hate you for your issues, but warn investors to be careful. You wouldn't take trading advice from a schizophrenic bum on the street, so don't do it on forums

I will have to eat medication, though. .... As long as I do eat them, I will probably not be able to see the revelation of Bitcoin going to $300 per mBTC. But who cares, since my absence cannot in any way prevent it from doing just that, and I already had a difficult time with seeing so many truths where not many of the others saw them!

So from 15:00 I will be denied communication, and the prevention is to take away my communication equipment.

The meeting with the doctor ended in a mutual agreement that I am too manic to continue posting on this forum.

I think it's time to take away your communication equipment again. You are again entering your manic phase, risto

If you have 1000 altcoins, each run by a separate dictator developer, is that top-down or bottom-up innovation?

both

Correct, but which scenario is more top-down in my second paragraph (see the edited message)?

I made the comment because the whales of Monero think that top-down organization will work well.

love how you think this is either / or.  not an organic both/and (like pretty much everything in nature is)

I never claimed they won't do it.

If you have 1000 altcoins, each run by a separate dictator developer, is that top-down or bottom-up innovation?

What is more likely to produce an innovation that the whales can't think of? One altcoin run by a bureaucracy or many altcoins competing until one spontaneously attracts millions of users?

you try really hard to connect dots that are impossibly to full connect.  while it may give you hunches and insight it also will make you borderline insane, lonely and leave you with a mega superiority complex thinking others are stupid 'till u finally spiral out of control

1 - Upthread talk about when it's cool to throw off the yoak of oppressive authorities who make u pay income tax

That was not the point of "render unto to Caesar...". The point was that you can't render unto Caesar that which is not his, but is rather owned by the laws of nature. When the government demands 99% of our blood, the government dies too (no one can pay the tax any more because they are dead).

Ditto you can't give to the authorities that which is owned by game theory. You can declare everything a crime, but as rpietila found out, it doesn't help you when you leave your laptop in the sauna with your private keys on it.

6 - monero?  oh wait ... that's not being talked about anymore my bad  Roll Eyes

...

no idea why you think all these things are the same thing.  but ... oK?

Just because you don't connect the dots doesn't mean I stopped making a comment that is relevant to Monero.

I made the comment because some of the whales of Monero apparently think that top-down organization will work well.

It can be expedient but it is not as fruitful as bottom-up innovation.

who full blown theological discussion

The Logic of Collective Action is not theological. It is a law of nature, and fundamentally derives from the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

ya um ok.  so we got several things here.  and you seem to be randomly crossing wires and it's giving me a headache.

1 - Upthread talk about when it's cool to throw off the yoak of oppressive authorities who make u pay income tax

2 - law of nature (we all want to have sex, think we are better than everybody else, try to thrive and reproduce, "natures calling - i need to take a leak" etc)

3 - second law of therodynamics (everything deteriorates)

4 - (your link) "The result is a scramble in which individual interest groups perpetually seek to corner more and more rent from the system, while the incremental costs of this behavior rise slowly enough that it is difficult to sustain broad political opposition to the overall system of political privilege and rent-seeking."

let me rephrase this for the simpleminded ones of us.  democracy is broken cuz ppl who win elections vote the rights and resources of the rich (producers) into the pockets of the poor (consumers) until their country is broke.

5 - reptellia's rich.  why?  does he deserve it?  does he deserve our worship or was it one lucky decision?  did he work hard for his hundred thousand he gambled (wtf who cares?)

6 - monero?  oh wait ... that's not being talked about anymore my bad  Roll Eyes

For non-Christians, replace "Lord", "Jesus" or "only King" with the "Laws of nature". So you don't think I am getting irrational here.

You are delusional. A lot of people has gotten rich as fuck being sinful (in fact most, it's almost a requirement if you want to make it big within this society in terms of massive financial gains at least), yet, no one has broken the laws of nature because it's a vapid concept, you can't break the laws of nature. So summing it up:

1) You CAN get rich as fuck by not following the 10 commandments
2) You CANT get rich as fuck by not following the laws of nature (aka, ignoring you are thristy because you die, jumping off a building because you die, never sleeping because you die...)

See the difference? Your analogy of 10 commandments-laws of nature is as irrational as it gets.

Uh oh. I smell a long time wasting debate that I don't wish to enter.

My point was precisely you can't break the laws of nature. If you try to organize yourself top-down developing a Coasian barrier to the maximization of entropy, the Second Law of Thermodynamics will run around you eventually collapsing your top-down shit into rubble. As the Bible says, you get the government you deserve.

Why don't you just accept for once that you are wealthy because you had luck?

Please do note he wouldn't have had a spare $100,000 to bet (no where near 100% of his net worth) on BTC in 2013 if he had not worked hard in prior years on his silver investing businesses.

The relationships he developed during that time helped convince him to get into Bitcoin. He even asked me in January 2013 (but he wasn't relying on my feedback, he was just sharing and getting confirmation) and I basically gave the green light but didn't follow him in, because I was in a crisis mode at that time (I had the extra $100,000 available but my life wasn't cooperating).

How are these 1 million per coin predictions going?

i disagree.  we all have "hunches" - but few of us act on these "hunches"

if i had a nickel for every time somebody said online "they were gonna invest in bitcoin but were too lazy cuz it was hard way back when" i'd be rich.

he's rich 'cuz he took action on a hunch when everybody else didn't.  this isn't about being smart or not smart - it's about taking action  Roll Eyes

jealous dumbasses and fanboy dumbasses all equally irritating.

It is sad that this thread has turned to be worship of me, but since the matter has surfaced:

The Haikko conference for me was more like a dream. Dream that I would some day be able to own a hotel and a nice car and have Bitcoin people coming to me and we would have a nice time.

Less than a year from taking that picture I already owned a manor in all respects larger than Haikko, and a car nicer than the one pictured. Even while writing this, I am having guests here starting the Bitcoin conference in these surroundings. I am a happy man because this dream has come true. Every time you post the picture I am feeling so grateful when I remember that back then I was having that as a mirage, a rented service, but now I have it in reality. With my friends.

Why don't you just accept for once that you are wealthy because you had luck? It's not that bad.

For the record, I've stated something upthread that I shouldn't have, but I can't rectify it without making the dominoes cascade more, so note I will have something to clarify later after this BCX affair is long done.
