...snip

Nobody will care brother
but with all due respect predicting 1 milllion USD per bitcoin within 7 months (as rpietila did), and within 30 years are two vastly different things.
So his predictions are less than worthless to me. Now I notice him making same crazy nonsense predictions about Monero which he says will have over 30 billion dollars in market capitilization? Do you know if this is true he will earn more than 350 million dollars? if he just keeps his current stash and not buy more? I know now to stay WELL away from this

Warren Buffet , Carlos Slim , Zuckerburg and many more billionaires work very hard for many hours a day. What for?
(not saying Rpietla is in the same catagory (yet?) but it proves a point.

Sorry but pumping altcoins @ polo trollbox does not put you more than 1/3 of the way to billionare status.
It's easy money but not that easy yet.

anyone can see his BTC to 1 million dollars by 2013 prediction was at best a wildly optimistic fantasists concotion, (probably why he was booked into that padded room) or at worst a downright manipulative lie designed to seperate the greedy and the foolish from their money. Apply the same to his current BS prediction. I will happily put down funds to bet otherwise if he can put his money where his mouth is.

whoa full blown theological discussion with rptellia defending his moolah status cuz of jelous lil haters & then the bickering over when the right time to start "disobeying authorities" is

... one could argue that jesus set the precedent for real legitimate authorities are those who are servants and when they cease to be teyre not authorities ... but i digress what a shitshow.  this makes intentional trolling look weak.

bible is a confusing place

ur rich rpetllia we get it.  bcx has more money than u ... so get over urself already.  all the haters quit hatin'

as far as XMR goes, even its supposed untraceability is being questioned, due to the linkability of transactions.
i am hopeful that these issues will be worked out, but i am not naive enough to believe that i can remain guy fawkes with my money just yet, nor do i do anything online or elsewhere that violates laws.

Anonymity will never be 100% absolute. It will always be probabilistic. This is why my recent contribution to CN might be important, as it can help quantify the anonymity we have with CN.

Everyone sees everything PIR (e.g. Bitmessage) is the only absolute anonymity, but it can be DDOS'ed with message spam (Bitmessage being forced to abandon it now due to message spam). Zerocash is ontologically PIR if viewed from a certain representation transformation, except that the creator of the masterkey is not equal to all others.

I understand CN's difficulty retarget throws away 20% of the "outliers". That is probably a vulnerability.

It is both a defense and a liability (for problem recovery).

Afaik Everyone sees everything PIR (e.g. Bitmessage) is the only theoretically absolute anonymity (assuming infinite recipients and all messages same size), but it can be DDOS'ed with message spam (Bitmessage being forced to abandon it now due to message spam). For non-Christians, replace "Lord", "Jesus" or "only King" with the "Laws of nature". So you don't think I am getting irrational here.

Thank you.  Much appreciated.

Hashpower is very very helpful, but I understand they also have something more in mind.
Something new.
Something that may end this sort of TW threat for all nascent coins, forever, if they follow XMR's lead on it.
I don't want to say much about it yet as it is still in review, and discussion on feasibility.
Occasionally necessity is the mother of invention after all... when he father is dedicated brilliance.

Can someone please point me to a resource which explains the TW attack in more detail? I've seen ArtForz's post showing how the timestamps can be backed up in time for coins which don't overlap the retarget of difficulty. Is there still a TW vulnerability for coins that overlap their difficulty retarget windows?

I understand CN's difficulty retarget throws away 20% of the "outliers". That is probably a vulnerability.

This was posted last night in the #monero-dev channel: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0By1apSyL4S49UDFIczlFc1RHem8/edit

And replace things like "He had made man" with "big bang of spontaneous generation".

Quoting for info:

BCX, was that you in the polo chat under a different name?

For the record I did not DDOS Poloniex.

If I did I promise you I would have told you.

I have nothing against Poloniex and have no interest bothering them.

As was pointed out by a few other posters, this is not my style.

More than likely some poser that was going to try and get some coins out of you.

None of this meant to be a hostile action, I just want to see if XMR can fix their holes.

Anyone can knock down a coin by hitting an exchange. No fun in that.

Believe what you want to believe but anybody that has been here for any time knows, that wasn't me.

I'm really, truly disappointed with BCX. I've been following this story the entire time, and DDOSing an exchange(Poloniex) along with extorting people(Monero devs) is illegal. This behavior is really childish and sad...

Don't worry he's bluffing.

I tend to agree, why expend energy on DDosing, when you are supposed to be able to destroy its bloodflow (XMR).

"Then God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth."

"The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
"

your god made a mistake ? what makes him a god then ? didn't he see that coming ?

I don't neccesarily believe in it quote on quote. However, many chapters of the early bible, are symbolic. For ex: those quotes put emphasis on how much man has strayed from goodness and god, and God reinforces that belief by "grieving" and threatening to destoy them. It could be that god told Noah those things, to instill faith in Noah, that he(and family) out of everyone else on Earth was the only man to stay good and not stray from god(That faith that god was happy with Noah would reinforce Noah's faith in god as well). It has a psychological effect, think about it from that perspective.

Also, In reference to BCX. I came across this thread, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/delete-793263

I'm sorry for making assumptions so quickly @BCX. It appears that there are people impersonating him on exchanges(Poloniex). My faith in him is restored. There are so many trolls on here, even I have a somewhat challenging time determing what's fact and fiction.

Because they didn't follow the 10 Commandments. One of which is have no other King or idol.

Read 1 Samuel 8 to know what the Lord thought of government.

We get a government because we can't follow the 10 Commandments. Thus we need to build our collective hell.
