I dont get it. Why is btc price dropping again? . I thought this would be great news + they were offering a 10% discount if you pay with bitcoin which would in theory get people who were in the process of buying from Dell anyway buy BTC first and pay that way ??

To be completely honest, Bitcoin getting accepted by more and more companies would not increase the price, if anything the price would decrease more since those companies immediately sell any bitcoins they acquire from users buying their products...

They would be able to sell bitcoins because those bitcoins would have been previously bought by Dell's customers. So no downwards pressure.

Not if those Dell's customers were bagholders...Which I suspect, many many people are after the November Bull Run.

This is unreal! Dell is the world's 5th largest computer manufacturer and they are now taking bitcoin! This is totally unexpected. eBay/PayPal should learn from them, don't talk about it, just do it!  Wink

Dell's accepting? MAJOR victory for cryptos right here!

It actually makes me very happy to see Dell accepting Bitcoin, and it shows how easy it is for big companies to start accepting it. Now if only more and more companies could start following in it's wake...

Wow. First NewEgg and now Dell. That is pretty amazing. It's catching on now. Coinbase must have a good sales team.

NewEgg uses BitPay. Wink

Oh! Haha, I guess I must have misremembered.

Good to see both companies doing well anyway. Better than just having one dominate the large corporate scene for sure.

man, all this good news and the price still remains unchanged.. not complaining too much though, it will probably just make the next bull-run more explosive.

To be completely honest, Bitcoin getting accepted by more and more companies would not increase the price, if anything the price would decrease more since those companies immediately sell any bitcoins they acquire from users buying their products...The only way the price would increase is if a large amount of people decide to buy Bitcoin at relatively the same time. Other than that, it's all speculation and doesn't warrant a price increase.

Are they gonna keep a part of bitcoins they receive or are they going to dump them all for $$?

I assume the latter... just a retoric question.

ilpirata79

Well they'll probably just get the fiat value from coinbase, though it's not impossible to keep some btc as that's what Overstock do. Regardless it's still great news for bitcoin whether they do or don't.

You can buy PC components ad stuff from Overclockers here in the UK too I believe.

I wonder when we're really gonna get the big news from Amazon or eBay. Surely it's only a matter of time.

I wonder if it's coinbase that is actively pursuing this sort of companies? If so, well done.
