Software
    Modify Big Application
    Small Application

for 1 million USD or a small extension for 100k

that sounds too good to be true

From devcoin bounty:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty#capitalization_100_000_usd

"Capitalization 100,000 USD
Software

    Simple Extension
..

Capitalization 1,000,000 USD
Software

    Modify Big Application
    Small Application
"

What that means is that if the capitalization (currently about 1.5 million) goes over 100,000$, then we can make bounties for simple extensions, if it goes over 1 million, we can make bounties for small applications and modifications of big applications. From:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty#project_types

"..the largest bounty that can be funded is about 1% of the market capitalization of devcoin."

In other words, because the market capitalization is now above 1 million, we can now fund simple extensions, small applications, and modifications of big applications. The maximum funding for any of those projects would be 1% of 1.5 million = 15,000$.

I really, really like the concept of DevCoin and I want to give back a little and help spread the word.

Here are some things I am thinking of doing , and I wanted to hear thoughts / suggestions / if it's already being worked on / if anyone wants to help / if I should leave it to you guys:

- An online forum devoted to DevCoin on a separate domain.
- Another website as well as the wiki which explains DevCoin? It is a bit thin on search results when DevCoin is googled.
- Perhaps offer a bounty for a windows DevCoin client in BTC to get it done fast? I personally think this is essential.
- Maybe set up an online exchange just for DevCoin?
- Petition BTC-e to add DevCoin
- Start working on getting merchants who accept BTC and LTC to accept DevCoin (we accept it at http://bitcoinprbuzz.com)

I think all of this would really help in getting DevCoin more exposure and help the whole project immensely.

It supports open source development, regardless of the medium. Check the current bounties available.

Hello, im quite confused with the whole idea of Devcoin. I've skipped trough a few pages and devtome. It says it supports developers, but there is a bunch of funfiction listed and random articles. What is it actually 'worth' to work for devcoin? I have some basic android skills, what could that earn me in market price, if i'd try to cash them out by helping devcoin?

Go DevCoin!

It's such an awesome idea to liberate people to be able work on their projects and become in a way the creative miners of the coin at the same time.

I can feel big things coming.

Crypto Addicto:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:cryptoaddicto

has written more than a thousand words on devtome:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=buckminster_fuller_and_spaceship_earth
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=history_of_yoga

and so got the first, three generation share signing bonus for writing:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing#signing_bonus

There are now nine, three share bonuses remaining. He will also get earnings for writing:

Bounties and the bitcoin share list add up to 50. I estimate writing will be around 30. Marketing should be around 8, for a total of 88. The unexpected might bring this to 100, making each generation share 1.8 million devcoins. At a price of 1.5 BTC/MDVC, that multiplies to 2.7 BTC.

By using your calculation the Bounty of 9MDVC for a Andorid Client/Server type wallet means 13.5 BTC

Yup is why i bought an android phone to give this a proper go... shame it didn't turn up today Sad fingers crossed for tomorrow Smiley

devcoin on android (Samsung Galaxy S3)

https://i.imgur.com/vI50WdH.jpg

Follow this howto to install ubuntu on android:
http://www.addictivetips.com/android/run-ubuntu-linux-on-samsung-galaxy-s3/

then follow the howto from fuzzybear:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1639273

and enjoy your devcoin on android!

Basically this way you can compile and install all cryptocoins Wink means this method installs the full devcoin daemon on your device. A lightweight Server/Client solution like the Bitcoin Wallet or Bitcoin Spinner App is still pending.

Thanks for installing devcoin on Android. You're awarded six shares from the Android bounty:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1271093

There is now a last three share bounty for the next installation of devcoin on Android.

Thank you Unthinkingbit

The eligibility has been changed, now people who are receiving devcoins can get marketing devcoins in that round, rather than needing to get coins for the last three out of four months. The marketing program has been updated, it checks to see if the publisher has received generation devcoins for any reason in the current round, including bounties, writing, and the bitcoins share list, and if so marketing devcoins are awarded for whatever is in the invoice:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_marketing#invoice

Also, the links or ads on up to five domain name homepages will be counted, not just three. Still only one subdomain link or ad will be counted, and it will not be counted if there is a homepage listed.

If there is no good place on a home page for a leaderboard ad (728 x 90), two full banner ads (468 x 60) can be substituted.

For anyone who has a domain name and wants to put a leaderboard banner on their home page, there is a list of devtome leaderboard ads at:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_gallery#leaderboard

To get around the empty image bug, a weird workaround is used. While an image without a link:
{{:devcoin_leaderboard_fuzzybear.jpg}}

will not be displayed, an image with a link:

does get displayed, and so that format is used for all the images on the devcoin gallery page.

If anyone wants to see how many marketing generation shares they'll get, they can download the charity folder:
https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity

and then in a terminal in that folder run:
python marketing.py -outputearnings marketing_earnings_22.csv

I propose that the dvc wallet that open source and on android or other devices should get a monthly share for continued maintenance on the wallet.

I agree it must be open source. All software bounties are for open source programs.

If the developer keeps working on the program, they can stay on the bitcoin share list:
https://raw.github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/master/bitcoinshare.html

for as long as they keep working.

No, but there is a 6 share bounty for an open source devcoin android wallet:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1271093

Yes with additional 9 000 000 DVC Payment from the DVB project aswell.

Personaly i think this is duable with the Bitcoin Wallet code: http://code.google.com/p/bitcoin-wallet/
I'll cast my eyes over this and see what I can decipher and let you know if I have any success

[uit has not been done so alreadyrl=http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=litecoin_android_lite_wallet]http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=litecoin_android_lite_wallet[/url]

That cropped up tonight, was there any bounty outstanding for an open source, ltc wallet?
I believe there was a Thread in here (bitcointalk.org) with a bounty going for this, i'll post it in there if it has not been done so already
