ICOs are a great tool for raising funds. It can help a project to be developed. Also, it can help investors to make profit. So, there is no doubt the concept is great. But unfortunately there are many problems. There must be an organization or an authority that can stop scams.
I personally have not an idea how this problem can be solved. Because I don't know how we can have both decentralization and regulation at the same time. But this problem must be finally solved.

The ICO was created in parallel with the bounty campaign to promote the ICO to many investors, so they know about the project and invest in increasing the exchange rate of the token when listed on exchange floors.

As i can see, not all ico are necessary, because in rarely scenario, ico are worth it to do (join, particilate, to invest). But most of the time ico are such a scambag that run awat after the ico finished. Meaning you have to aware which ico youve choose to avoid of being scam.

ICO is important if the project is legit and legal and they comply to all the rules and the team are honest and transparent on what they are going to do with the funds they raise, but it is being abused by fraud people, some of them posting fake address and people to their team to make it appear legit, this is the other face of ICO that I want stopped.

If me my opinion ICO will help developer, if they will scamming member or anything else related with that, now we have escrow if peple want to. It all depends on us to pick which is ico good in market or not.

Yes, you are correct. ICO is not the only way to advertise a project, but maybe it is about the effectiveness. In my view, ICO is still the best way to advertise and to promote a project since ICO can involve many people who really understand about crypto. The promotion can be through some crypto forums including investors, traders, and crypto enthusiasts that potentially will join the project.

For those who are in investment I think ICO is really important because it plays a major role in giving information about the project. Every coins that will be created out there should launch an ICO, first of all, it needs a lot of investments so that the project will pursue and continues, another thing is it needs promotion and advertisement so launch a bounty campaign. Yeah, there are too many SCAMs in the ICO market, but I hope this is just a matter of time. More and more platforms that will "filter" ICOs and help reliable projects to raise funds are emerging today.ICO is a great ways introduce a project to everyone who wanted to invest regardless of life status.
