I'd also like 700 as a new base, but 670 looks much more likely. The 700 value was helped by the week-end. 670 is not that bad either...
I'm very curious what will happen at / after halving. Did many keep their BTC for a dump, or will people keep their money and the market will behave just as nothing happened (hmm)?

So we are in the final day of the last full period before the halving. Period to date run rate with about 18 Hours to go is at +1.12% and means we will land somewhere between +1.0% & +1.75%.

While I expect most of us would like to see a run at $1000/coin, that doesn't seem likely at the moment. For whatever the reason, Coindesk is showing BTC at about $659. Looks like too much "resistance" at the $700 level for now.

While my particular preference is for +2.75%, this is pretty good otherwise. 

I would love to keep seeing it go up.   To see 1K again would be amazing and great for miner's I personally think.   But still a way's from it.  But fun to think/dream about.

The interesting thing is with all the spike in price we might not see as much "old" gear drop off depending on electricity price and what the gear is.  Assuming they can mine profitable. 

The price jumped quite good too, so the hashrate may just go even higher. Unexpectedly higher....

My bet is it will tripple very quickly.

Phil, you remember the spike at 2200 PH/s (+1000 PH/s in one day) on May 23rd?  Well, that was probably only one manufacturer (Bitmain?) testing their new gear.  Now when they (Bitmain, Bitfury, BW, even maybe KNC despite the bankrupt, who knows?) are going to go online after the halving, minus all the small ones unplugging their gear... I'm pretty sure hashrate will go up significantly.

But hey, that's only speculation...

I have the strangest feeling hashrate wont drop either...imo it will just keep going, and going, and going.  probably will stabilize at some point (end of the summer).  idk so many factors here, the halving, probably no new hardware for a little while, and imminent huge btc bubble in autumn

Spike was huge about 500ph



coinbase is at $694  now I can see a big move coming soon.

     What does worry me is the ½ ing may not drop hashrate.
  I see 300 to 500 ph going offline,but  I think the spike could be that 300 to 500 ph. I really do hope  to see a 20%-30% drop

I missed a  play and I am watching difficulty rate it is under 4%  and coins are closer to 700.

The spike has come and gone since last November.  Although in Jan- Feb   it lasted about 20 days in a row.

Hmm well so much for my thinking we might not see a spike this period.... Spike in progress. I think we might see +2% to +3% but as alh says wide range of outcomes possible.

Exciting day to watch the value so far.  In past 24 hours we had low of mid 430's and currently on coinbase at low 670's and pointed up! http://www.coindesk.com/price/

I would love to see it go up to 700 again, would be nice to hit it again.   Hard to say if we get that lucky though.  Add that to bitwisdom showing a low difficulty change this period is starting to look pretty good.

Just up in the UK and a bit closer to the end than I intended.   I suspect the end result depends a lot on whether we will see the spike in the next few days? I am going to gamble on there being no spike.
