Just want to let you guys know that it is possible that my nodes won't work as expected (since I didn't get the chance to test them before launch). However, I think they'll work fine, but I'm just saying this so that you guys don't burn me for them not working from the first few blocks. I'll be watching when we hit 144990 up till the very block, so I'll know right away if anything doesn't go as planned. I'll be mostly looking at the Qubit console (As that's where 95% of my hash is going).

I'll keep you updated if anything goes wrong, and I'll fix my nodes then edit the source to reflect any changes made.

Hope we have a smooth launch!

Edit: Pool addresses are:

stratum+tcp://birdspool.no-ip.org:[port]

Ports:

SHA: 5011
Groestl: 5021
Skein: 5031
Qubit: 5041
Thanks for the update Bird! Same goes for love2hash, it should work but we are standing by for any errors! We also have miners setup to hit the 4 other algos to make sure they work.

There will be about a 30 minute period while the other algos equalize! So happy bonus mining for a bit! See you all on the flip side!

Does anyone else have the problem where you sometimes get stuck a few blocks behind, and it won't sync? (On the daemon)

Does anyone want to take on the DigiByte iTunes IOS wallet? We are stretched to the max and do not have any experience with IOS app development. We have reached out to a couple people but have not heard anything back. We definitely would be paying. Smiley

T-minus 100 blocks!

Fun fact: The switch actually occurs @ block 144,999 because the count starts @ "0" with the genesis block.

A lot of very good suggestions for the reasons to use DigiByte!

Love2hash.com & DigiHash are both maintained by us. Digihash.co, however, is not ready yet. We wanted to make sure we had a back up.

Hmm yesterday my rented hashes burned out of btc, sending some more to kick down the last blocks.

Yeah man get back in here for the final stretch! I'm hoping my current order doesn't burn out before we hit 145000...  have about 7.5 hours to go according to Nicehash.

You guys rock! Thank you very much for helping out!

I would suggest something along these lines:

    Why DigiByte?

    • Professional & dedicated development team since launch on Jan. January 10th 2014.
    (I don't like abbreviations)
    • Strategic long term road-map & vision alongside pending global corporate partnerships.
    • 1st First coin to fork to multi-algorithm mining that respects and values all existing mining technologies.
(Ditto above, I prefer words rather than abbreviations, and maybe lose the "all"...)
    • Significantly mitigated 51% attack vulnerability thanks to the 5 unique algos & independent difficulties.
    • 1st First coin to develop & implement DigiShield (asymmetrical asymmetric difficulty adjustment).
(Grammar thing, adverb vs adjective Tongue)
    • 30 second blocks make for much faster merchants transactions.
    • 1:1000 ratio with Bitcoin is more intuitive and user friendly for micro transactions.
    • Minor, insignificant Small initial premine that was given away to users & charity and used for initial development.
(Pre-mine is what it is, no need to call it minor or insignificant. The DEV's record of handling this pre-mine speaks for itself)
    [/list]

As YC mentioned, I also think transparency is to be highly valued, but I'm not sure about exactly how far current transparency goes, and, as a consequence, I'm not sure about how to state that other than with something very generic.

Couple minor points...  I'm a bit pedantic about a few things as i do a lot of technical writing in my profession. See corrections above...  you may feel differently, but just my 2 cents.

EDIT: I forgot to say very good otherwise...  I'm just nit-picking...  but my main comment is well done, looks good

Nit-picking, aka, copy editing, is VERY important. Investors, especially, are used to reading prospectus from hundreds of sources almost daily and let me tell you, the poorly formed sentence, the abbreviations, the "buzz" words and other seemingly small errors in grammar and punctuation really make a difference. I have tossed many documents in the bin due to this and, it doesn't matter if the offending prose is a paragraph or epic novel, to the bin it goes.

Other than that, it looks sound to me!

Rather than say the premine was "given away" could we say "used for initial promotion & awareness campaign and development purposes"?  Also we should make it clear that it is fully accounted for (at least I hope such records exist)

Few months ago, in this thread, I have suggested to translate Digibyte's website into my native language (French). And, for sure, Digibyte's community is composed of people from all around the world.

My principal argument was to give an official website for the most common used language instead of a google... which give sometimes very strange translations. All this in order to give a "professional" translation for a professional currency.

What do you think of this? I'll be glad do it for free from english to french. Moreover, this can be done in approximately one hour... @Digibyte, you can give your feelings about this idea too Wink

        Soooooooo close ...

        Update

200 blocks to go, at current rates estimated time until block 145,000 = 9 Hours 54 Minutes *

*The actual time will depend on the average network hashrate and fluctuations in block finding luck ... but presuming everyone doesn't suddenly abandon the network, it seems today is the day!

“Blockchain Just Entered The Real World”

Anyone know the difference between the Love2Hash pool and digibyte.co? Both are from the DEVs, the former seems to be up and running and ready to go for block 145000....  the latter not yet...  but why 2 pools?

I believe digibyte.co is/was undergoing maintenance or they were moving the server.
