Hey all, I just wanted to show my support to the digibyte community. You very much share my philosophy on what cryptocurrencies should be and I expect to see DGB do very well. (Also, I am working on a documentary about cryptocurrencies and I am planning on featuring DGB as one of the possible future replacements for BTC.)

I have to running right now getting 1600-1700kh. Is this good for two of these cards?

And for some reason, The PSU only came with 2 PCIe cables, strangely. But i heard it was a good PSU, and it hasn't let me down yet

2 x r9 290x's should be getting you around 1800 on the LOW side... up to 2000 if they've been tuned in properly....  I get the numbers you mention with the non-x variety, the r9 290.

Depends on the PSU...  you have to remember that running more than 2 hard core GPUs is still pretty specialised...

Agreed, i get those rates with my 2x R9 290

Post your config here

This is the config i have, not the same pool or worker though. This is from a guide i followed

export DISPLAY=:0
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
.cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://mining.usa.hypernova.pw:3333 -u zedomax.test -p 123123123 -I 20 -w 512 --thread-concurrency=32765 --temp-cutoff 99 --temp-overheat 95 --temp-target 90

Try this....

-I 20 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 33792 --temp-cutoff 99 --temp-overheat 95 --temp-target 90 --gpu-engine 1025 --gpu-memclock 1350

My hash went down to 1500

It's not a straightforward task to dial your cards in, as they all perform slightly differently.  You pretty much have to start with a "reasonable" config, which I would say you had...  and then fine tune them.  It's hit and miss, a bit frustrating...  but you'll eventually get a feel for your cards.  Keep in mind that the most stable config may not give you the best hash rate... ! I recently sacrificed about 100kh/s average across 3 cards just to gain a more stable config that I could rely on to start without HW errors every time.  Also...  anything method-wise in these links that refers to the 290, will also also apply to the 290x...  just with slightly different values.

Anyway...  here is some reading for you...  sorry...  quite far OT here...  so probably best to take this out onto the general mining hardware thread...

Who's this guy selling 14BTC worth.  He's nuts.  If he gives the coin a little more time he will make at least double that

Someone with that much probably got a big power hungry rig. Bills bills

Look! the sell wall is gone!!!

Change the following

 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 32765

also try switching the -w 256 to -w 512 and compare

the best way to tweak gpu engine and clock is via the cgminer command console, to do that press G when running cgminer once you find the sweet spot add the settings to your config

We are laying out plans for a DGB exchange right now. Direct USD to DigiByte. Not so much like Cryptsy but more like a combination of BitPay and Coinbase. We are only interested in exchanging DigiByte for fiat currencies. We have been talking to several serious investors who are interested in entering the Crypto market.

We are really doing our homework regarding US Banking & securities laws, especially with the recent news about the Bitcoin Foundations Vice President.

Good stuff. Will that exchange support other currencies or only DigiByte?

Hi guys , Newbie here , how can I get help installing the DigiByte wallet on my Linux mint 16 laptop ? AS I am mining and atm it goes straight to my android wallet (works
great!) but I would like to have a perm wallet . Thanks !

You can try installing the linux ubuntu wallet from the digibyte.co site (http://www.digibyte.co/sites/digibyte.co/files/crypto/DigiByte-Ubuntu-1.0.0.zip), or you can compile it from source yourself (https://github.com/digibyte/DigiByteProject). The first method might not work as Ubuntu and Mint are slightly different. The compiling from source should work, but it is a bit more work as you'll need to install the dependencies in order to be able to compile it. If you're compiling from source, then the instructions for Ubuntu (on the github page) should be enough to help you along in Mint. Wink

Thanks  Ice_Blade!

Yeah I tried method 1 and it didn't work, and I even tried installing in on my Ubuntu 13.10 x64  desktop and no go . Again I've only been using linux for a couple months now . It's not easy but rewarding . So I downloaded the Ubuntu zip wallet (zip ) extracted it in a new folder /home/Me/.Digibyte , but could not run digibyted or digibyte-qt .

Hey DigiByte thread, looking for a place to mine DGB? Join us at Chunky Pool!

Here's a little more info:

  • 0% fees forever, not just "for now"
  • SSL encryption
  • Custom MPOS layout
  • Support and a wonderful community @ irc.freenode.net #chunky
  • We are equipped to withstand thousands of workers
  • Excellent stability and uptime

We also provide many other coin pools and even have a coin-switching multi-port that switches between coins to maximize profitability!

One account fits all
We have modified MPOS to provide a multipool experience. You only have to create one account, and that account is shared among all of our coin instances. Unlike some other multipools, and since we're on top of MPOS, we offer you complete transparency about provided shares, found blocks and much more!

Pools
  • Dogecoin - port 3333
  • Earthcoin - port 3334
  • RonPaulCoin - port 3335
  • Lottocoin - port 3336
  • Stablecoin - port 3337
  • 42coin - port 3338
  • Digibyte - port 3339
  • Litecoin - port 3340
  • Klondikecoin - port 3341
  • Multiport - port 6666

And perhaps the biggest reason of all: we are miners just like you. We started this pool because we were sick of trying to find pools that didn't go down all the time. We are committed to making a better mining environment for you and for ourselves.

I wonder if they are dumping now because they are scared or if they are just tanking the price so they can buy up more
Money always flows from weak hands to stronger hands. We have some great announcements coming up soon! Some awesome negotiations are underway!

By the way, it is not us, we are holding for the long run and we are working hard to make some new things happen right now!

Thank god Cheesy
