Hi all,
What do you think about the price chart of Digibyte?
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/digibyte/
Is it right time to buy the coin?
Thanks all for your help.
It looks like a good time to buy....will there be a better time???

Hello everybody. Now there are very serious manipulations with the market, the coin is waiting for a certain moment, I wish you more patience.

I keep buying and investing in DGB - long time now, All I could advice is as long as you can afford to hold your "money investment" there is nothing to worry about - The market right now, is playing games, "dirty games" not just whales involved but great preasure from "media" - So my plan is to hold and keep helping the "Development of DigiByte and other on-going projects" - You can either contribute and do anything to support your investment, or relax - rest, njoy your life and forget about it for some time from now  Wink

Hi all. Where can i get up to speed on where Digibyte is at?

I understand DGB has segwit, and is also scaling on chain?

Was segwit done as a malleability fix? Or to allow Lightning to be added?

Is there a good resource to understand the plan and vision?

I agree, this is quite unclear. It would be nice to get some more updates on upcoming developments, things in the works, more stuff to get people excited about Digibyte! Either short or longer term.

DGB is very unprofitable for GPU miners at the moment because of the ASICs. The dev team should make a stance and show the community that they are going to keep DGB decentralized.

Scrypt - ASIC

SHA256 - ASIC

QUBIT - Originally CPU mining, Currently Dominated by ASIC

SKEIN/GROESTL - Originally GPU mining, Currently Dominated by ASIC

Time to take action before is too late. We're already in June and nothing was said or done.
We are approaching the half way point of DigiByte's distribution. It will take till 2035 to mine the other half, so I don't think it will be too late to act here for a while yet anyway but I would certainly love to hear about the options being considered too.

Value has to rise first in order to make it profitable to mine, because right now; it isn't...
If this continues, mining will stop.
As stated by others already;its more profitable to mine another coin and just buy them.
yes, if value rises more mining will come to mop it up but mining will not go away altogether. It is always profitable for someone to mine, it's just rarely people mining from home paying for domestic electricity. Amateur miners normally have to hold their coins to make them pay off and as I've said before, buying as many coins as they are able, when priced at less than what they can be mined for. You can switch to find something that appears more profitable but it won't be for long. The fact that DGB has 5 algos each looking at 20% of total DGB up for grabs makes calculating the process a little more complicated than it is for single algo coins, sometimes some are more profitable than others....It would drive me crazy trying to chase them, so when I mine, I generally use mining to gauge price for buying.

At the same time, I am supporting DGB by adding to the network. I am supporting my own position in DGB. I am helping to make mining slightly less profitable than it would have been for professional miners and therefore hopefully increasing the price a which they sell. All the time managing my own exposure to risk....having fun doing it....just loving the DigiByte project and the endless possibilities of actually solving some of the worlds biggest problems....and best of all, the fruit!

You will never bring DigiByte down with a 'hardware' fault.
Which did you imply in your thread by saying about 'a hardwar fault'?
Could you explain more about this idea?

Is it anything to do with the 51% attacks? Recently several coins have getting hit with the attacks, But i think Digibyte has a unique algorithm that makes the attacks difficult to perform if I read correctly. Still worth protecting as they can steal your funds and the coin gets a bad name too

Does it still make up for the mining? For with this difficulty, only with a very large hash power to make a profit from mining, do not you agree?

Well, i have one scrypt miner, a L3+ wich i have for months at digibyte now, but it really sucks... I better use it as a doorstop, or mine other coins...

i don't have to mine dgb  you can mine something more profitable and do autoexchange to dgb, it s also good for the market

What coins did you have in mind that we should mine in stead of DGB?

depend on your hardware for gpu   it s mostly eth for amd & zec/some lyra algo for nivida & monero for vega & cpu

you should take a look at http://whattomine.com

I’m not implying anything; I’m stating that a hardware fault could only bring down a centralized system and not one like Bitcoin or DigiByte!
