Come on that news is 13 months old...talk about clutching at straws

Published on December 2, 2014 at 22:45 GMT

And, even he wants to say it again! That's still a very good thing. Not every coins get such an investment! 250k have been a really good news for DGB Smiley
What you have to understand about Pringles is that he bought in high around 100 sat  and has been unfortunate enough to see nothing but better buying opportunities since. I’m sorry this happened to him or anyone else and if I could have done anything to avoid it happening, I would have but unfortunately I couldn’t and can’t. He needs to chalk it down to experience and find some positive attitude from somewhere instead of trying to piss on his chips because no one will want to eat them if he’s somehow successful. I happen to think his investment is safe and sure he could have done better out of it with hindsight but it’s not called hindsight because you can see it in front of you. We are on a really long journey, not a day trip and he possibly doesn’t realize that most of us have made the same mistakes in the past too but that’s also how you improve.

As an ongoing collaboration,

And...

Quote
The team noted in a statement that the partnership will be a long-term one, explaining:

"As an ongoing collaboration, Tofugear and the digibyte team are excited by the prospect of working towards their mutual goal of engaging people with technology that enriches their everyday lives."

^^ Where did you read about the 250k being spend already?

In this topic, maybe months ago.
If that's not true, I may be tricked by FUD  Lips sealed Sorry for that.
But I've seen a quite big team in one of the Youtube vids. I can imagine the 250K being spend soon'ish. What happens after that?

There is no official word from Digibyte that the investment is spend already and with that being said i just wanted to quote this from the coindesk  investment article:

"As an ongoing collaboration, Tofugear and the digibyte team are excited by the prospect of working towards their mutual goal of engaging people with technology that enriches their everyday lives."

DigiByte developers and pro-active community members work for love and abuse; well that is what they get paid. We are not greedy and are willing to share the love and abuse with all that wants a bit, we do however encourage personal gratification through hoarding DigiByte though, on account of this being a long term investment opportunity.

But much more than that DigiByte really aims at solving some of the world’s biggest problems!
I remember as a child being told how wonderful the future was going to be and how computers and robots would do the menial tasks for us as we were all to lead lives of leisure and education. Well needless to say it didn’t quite work out and people were left in poverty while the machines work for the rich.

DigiByte mining is the most level crypto playing field in the industry, this is not accidental. DigiByte is on the road to delivering the future we were promised, to all of us, where our machines do the donkey work and we build the world we want to live in, instead of this one we were born to.

Join us, help us gather pace, stand up to injustice and be who you really are.
Put some DigiByte in your wallet, run a node!  Wink

Then where are all those wallets and other features for Digibyte?

All those "new features" your talking about are simply taken from bitcoin core. A big giveaway is "Rebranding to Groestlcoin Core. To reduce confusion between Groestlcoin-the-network and Groestlcoin-the-software we have renamed the reference client to Groestlcoin Core." which as you can see here (https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.9.0) is the exact wording of the bitcoin patch notes.

Not to dimish the achievments of the Groestlcoin team but to say that it took more "work" than the digibyte marketplace and digibyte gaming is absurd.

Rather than update the codebase to a more recent version of bitcoin (something that almost any decent coin dev could do), Jared instead  spent his time developing useful and unique services centered around the coin itself which is something very very few coins have managed to achieve. Then instead of copying and pasting features from bitcoin we went our own route and decided to preemptively solve a major issue plaguing the bitcoin community at the moment.

If you really take a look at that list of features you'll see that DigiByte has already had alot of them (coin control, OP_RETURN,  Strict DER encoding) for quite a while as DigiByte was upgraded to the 0.9x codebase 1+ years ago.

At any rate I won't argue with you any further.

3 code base versions behind? That is no good for a coin that is almost 1 million USD marketcap. GRS,DOGE,DASH etc are on 0.11 already. Digibyte isn't good because of development skills, the same as Doge isn't popular because of it's development. Admittedly digibyte has had to work much harder on marketing then Doge and that derserves respect.

Marketing > dev

whatever you say man, nobody is forcing you to keep up with this "shitcoin."

I am not going anywhere, marketing by Jared has been great, what other coin can claim to have a $250k investment. This is why marketing is > dev .

How's the devteam being paid now the $250K investment is depleted? Just wondering, I'm a DGB supporter Wink

I guess they all allow buyers to take back payments they’d made after walking out of shops, by simply pressing a button (if you aren’t aware of this “feature” that’s because Bitcoin has only just changed to allow it)  Wink

And one of the reasons why Mike Hearn thinks BTC has failed (as noted in his post that you brought to our attention a couple of days ago https://medium.com/@octskyward/the-resolution-of-the-bitcoin-experiment-dabb30201f7#.38y4s5db5 )
Yes, although this is no problem for coins that manage confirmations in a sensible time frame (aka during shop check out) since taking back a payment this way only works for unconfirmed transactions. Still a stupid feature, including for Bitcoin. Even if we forget about taking back payments, what's the best case scenario for it? A transaction fee auction bidding war for confirmations? Way to go to solve the problem, really.

Excerpt from the ‘Diary of a DigiByte kid!’

Woke up this morning after a hard night’s work, for my computer that was.
Decided to give it a break and played CS-GO for a couple of hours. Turned out to be very profitable as it happens, hooked up with a solid team on-line.
Back to work, reinstated mining DigiByte on machine, then went to play football in the park with my mates.
Downloaded a book on metaphysics to read before bed.
Submitted my thesis on quantum mechanics to DiguSign.

The future is a little different!  Wink

Remember the 'future' they used to talk about, when computers were going to do the work for us?
Well it's here!

Your only Amigo, in the World of Crypto
Will we be able to pay in regular stores with DigiByte in the near future? And are there any plans concerning marketing DigiByte in China. Somehow I think Chinese people will love Digibyte... Smiley

Would like to hear about this too - Plans in China. Otherwise, why bother translating to Chinese right? like "极特币" for example.
Here's a tiny little something.

if you want to create more cool images like this, go here. quite a lot of cool ones.

Each player joins either the Terrorist or DigiByte team and attempts to complete objectives or eliminate the enemy team. The game operates in short rounds that end when all players on one side are dead or a team's objective is completed.

Community is advised to get in some practice playing for possible future revenue stream. Wink

Can we replace the word money with DigiByte in this explanation of the game?

"Players purchase weapons and equipment at the beginning of every round with money awarded based on their performance. Completing objectives or killing enemies earns the player money while negative actions, like killing a teammate or hostage, takes money away from the player. In addition, when a round ends all players receive some amount of money, with players on the winning team receiving substantially more."

What a brilliant idea DGB value declining every hour...so why not...lets give more DGB away even the loser in this idea get FREE DGB

You should have to buy DGB at the start to play the bloody game, that would be a far better idea...

In an age of freemium gaming, paying before you can play would kill the game before it even started.
Their machines will mine the DigiByte when they are not playing games and they will be topped up by game sponsors when they are!
anyone would think it was pringles dgb that was being used to remunerate players.

Does anyone know of an iOS based coin ticker which includes DGB? I used to use Coin Ticker, but they only linked to cryptsy for price ^^;
