For now BTC is solid and holding its own, better than many of us with position #8.

I can't wait to see how things will turn out during the second half of the year.. Curious to see if BTC will stay as solid as it is now.. Perhaps some random shitmemecoin will take us all down?  Grin

I find your lack of faith in Bitcoin disturbing.

^  Lol at Base?  Yeah it's funny that Mochi and Toshi are the top coins in that chain for some time now and the more serious projects like Aero and Scale are doing really badly.  Cheesy  It just shows how immature the space is right now.

But the thing tho is memecoins are going to give you the biggest gains if you play it right.  Like if you missed going in right before the pump then it's prolly better not to chase as these things could dump and you might get shaken out of the trade.

The thing to do for 2024 and 2025 if you wanna be in the trenches are airdrops and memecoins.

Almost 1 month passed and just 10 portfolios are outperforming Bitcoin. I see this as an absolute win! Wink Still good to see that LoyceV's and my portfolio, heavy on XMR, are holding up not too badly. I hope to see Monero gain some traction in the future; even though not necessarily as an investment.

The graphs have been very interesting to watch since the beginning, volatility is extreme at the moment!
I find it extremely funny to see BTC first.  Cheesy
I like how in the first few days, everything was kind of doing the same thing, but between January 4 and 8, all the altcoin portfolios dipped down, meanwhile Bitcoin slowly went up. It's a tiny data point in the grand scheme of things, but it's a nice anecdote to show the difference between Bitcoin and 'everything else'.

This may be historic! Today, Bitcoin is winning against all of our altcoin portfolios! Wink

In fact, almost everyone's in the red right now. At least I'm barely winning against LoyceV. Tongue

How about running it multiple times until none of the returned $ values are 0? I guess it's not that important for the daily standings / graphics whether it's the 00:00 standing or 01:00, since what really counts will only be the final results, right.
That's easy to add indeed. I've changed it like this: 6 seconds between API-requests, but if the API gives me an empty output, I'll wait 1 minute and try again. Let's see if this works tomorrow.

Update: this may fail once one of the coins gets delisted, but it worked last night. The volatility in less than a week is amazing:

How about running them a few times e.g. at 00:00, 01:00, 02:00?
I ran the whole script again. Sometimes the API just blocks me, despite having a 16 seconds delay between scraping.

Last night, my data scraping resulted in some failures again. The API is clearly not up for it, and I don't really want to keep checking this daily for the rest of the year. If it keeps failing, I'll have to give up.
I'm re-scraping it now.
I just noticed and re-ran my scripts manually, too. How about running them a few times e.g. at 00:00, 01:00, 02:00? Or did none of the runs go through smoothly & you had to 'stitch' results manually? In that case we'd have to look into a different API.

Might find some time to do that myself, too, in case you're too busy at the moment. Smiley

Too late, buddy! Entry was by 30/12/2023.

Registration end date: 30/12/2023 11:59pm (Paris time). Registration is now closed.

@LoyceV, what's the difference between your two csv files? I don't remember why I chose csv2.txt last year, but this time around my script seems to work nicely with csv.txt and the values actually seem to align more with your daily portfolio overview (everyone in the green for now).
The first file has a fixed order, csv2.txt is sorted by final balance. That makes the legend much easier to read.
What a timing! I just manually added sorting by final balance to my code that uses csv.txt. Tongue
Anyhow, I guess it's fine now, either way.

Column 26 in csv2.txt is broken; the name is ',Maniac' instead of 'mp3.Maniac' and all values are just ',Maniac'.  Sad
Thanks, it's fixed.

It's been corrected and the correct value for Oasis Network is :
Oasis Network (ROSE)         20         1453,741932
I've updated the files, including the last update.

Besides that (hardcoded a fixed $1000.00 value for that column) [edit: switched to csv.txt] here is the new live updated graph:

And the full participant portfolio list graphic:

@Halab feel free to include these in OP!
