I see them as a way of funding new projects, many of the altcoins' value will grow alongside those projects, some will perish but others will thrive, look closely into the altcoin you may choose.
But I do see great future in Alts

Ethereum has potential for the future. Because this coin is very good. I hold some eth for the future. I'm sure the price will be good in the future.

I have the same opinion with you, that ethereum will be a coin that has good value. because I think ethereum has a fairly stable value, it also has a large community that will continue to grow and develop.

I guess that only 5% of altcoins will survive next few years. But by this time will appear hundreds or even thousands of newcomers so the average count of alts will be the same or increase.
It's hard to make an estimate, as long as they have a legitimate product and devs are doing their job to deliver to the investors then I think they will survive long. There is no big difference actually for bitcoins as altcoins has a chance to succeed like bitcoins and it only depends on how we can get support for the community, especially the investors because they are the one who will dictate the future of a specific altcoins.

I think only a few have a future and 99% of altcoin will fail ... this is the reality of life
Sorry but that's totally wrong, altcoins are progressing now and they are also capturing the market although it is still
dominated by bitcoin. There are good and bad altcoins and we should be responsible on choosing the right one.
But still, majority of the altcoin will fail as mentioned above, the only good altcoins that have solid developer, good progression, and big community, will stay, the rest will be eliminated by natural selections.
you must realize that everyday, a new project created, smart contract deployed, altcoins with unsoild dev and bad progression will turn to dust.

Many altcoins will be wiped out. The ones that will stay will be strong, with a good product and good community behind them.

That's why choosing the right altcoin is of paramount importance.

If bitcoin lasts long then without any doubt altcoin will also survive. Some coins can't survive because of their technology and investment..But altcoins like waves and eth type of coin will remain till the end.

Altcoin definitely have a future! It may be hard to accept the truth, but the truth about all  crypto currency is that, no single coin can serve the World! There must myriad of coin solving problem will all face in our society! We can have the coin/ token for everything to make our lives easier and the World a better place!

I also think that bitcoin has the future because we all see bitcoin survive for so many years and this bitcoin is said to be sustainable.  Community is what makes the bitcoin more stronger and it can be the reason why bitcoin has the future. I think altcoin is not much sustainable rather than bitcoin.

I think it does for me Alt-coins have a future ,
And that's why other investors are also investing and holding some Alt-coins.
Some alt-coin have some promising project.
Altcoin will have future if Bitcoin can grow more in future too. Almost the altcoins are supporter for the growth of Bitcoin, you have to know it as a circle turns capital invest into the cryptocurrency world. And finally, the best place to take profits always is FIAT Grin

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.

Foss development process reminds me Darwinism sometimes ...

I believe so, yes, they do have a future. Although, the future of altcoins depends on the coin itself and technology or projects they hold. another thing that can somehow keep the the coin alive are the investors and developers, so long as the technology keeps on improving and progress is observed, then more and more people get to use it or patronize it.

Difinitely yes, because all altcoins has a value and that value can be low or high. This altcoin can help you to earn big profit. And some people also say that all altcoins will be our future coins.

I think only few altcoin have less future when compared to high profile altcoin. Everything will depend on choosing the best altcoin in cryptocurrency and we have to buy them when the price is very low and sell them at a high price.
