I came across a trader today who mentioned that he hasn't stopped trading even in this period where almost everyone, trader and hodler is trying playing it safe. In our little conversation, one of the statement he used that has stuck to memory and has kept me wondering if I was making the right decision this period playing it safe and not trading was "Real traders don't care about bear or bull market, during times like this is when real traders survive", he also highlighted that a good day trading strategy can still make you profit this season.

-Do you consider this trader correct?

-Is anyone here still trading actively? if yes, what has your strategy been?
Of course yes a true/real trader cares about the bull and bear as they can use it to their own advantage like when it's bear they will mostly buy but in bulls they will mostly sell. On the market these days, the price still continues to move. It is still fluctuating so traders can still use this window of opportunity to trade and make some profits.

Those who stop are maybe too stressed out seeing this kind of market so they take a break for good. They can be composed of real and fake traders. As far as I know the phrase "playing it safe" doesn't totally mean that we will stop doing an act but it just means that we will continue doing the act but we must be extra careful this time.

Well I'm not trading when the market in this condition, but maybe for some people who are really the expert in trading still can make a lot of money when the bear market happens. I've heard that a guy who loses more than 50% recovers even if the market is in bear condition. Profit is not coming from bull or bear season but when you have a good strategy and your strategy is on point then profit will come to you.
That is the general population, you can see that from the volume as well, because it is not traded nearly as much as it used to be. That means that we are talking about a market where most people are trying to stay away from as much as they possibly can. This isn't going to change in a single day, but it will certainly be something that will last a while. People like you and me and many others will stay away from trading until it is a bit better.

I still do investments, but that is different from trading, I buy and hold but I do not buy and sell right away, I am waiting for it to go towards 100k before I can even consider selling it, that is still valid for me.

Sincerely, i think everyone cares, every bear market affects both the so called real traders and hodlers alike, the only difference i see here is that professional traders already have enough knowledge and all that is required to keep trading and making money, though the amount of money which can be made during a bear market can never be as much as money made when the market is good.
And another thing is that professional traders also know how to use the condition of the market to their own advantage, that is, whether the market is going up or down, traders who trade futures can always make money from both sides, i guess this is what this trader in your conversation is doing, longing and shorting the market which ever way it goes.
From my own personal perspective, conclusion is that bear market affects everyone, both traders and holders, but some traders who already have enough knowledge also know how to make a bear market work in their favor.

Trading operate in two set of rule buy low and sell high and sell high so as to buy low again. But it is obvious traders in this era only operate with buy low and sell high and forget price can choose to take the other side of the trend to sell with the good high. My Strategy is knowing the trend and knowing where to join the trend. Just like in the current bear i wait for good price resistance zone to keep selling. If i must buy then i scalp and keep my profit below $10

Although I have been in the crypto world for a long time, but because I am not a professional trader, so during a bear market I do not dare to trade.
As long as you are comfortable and know what to do in a bear market, then you are a pro, but you may not be an expert when it comes to taking profits.

Moreover, the market seems to be getting worse after Bitcoin fell below $20k,
---
if I have extra money, I will buy more Bitcoin, because the current Bitcoin price is very low.
It seems like the two sentences above are completely contradictory, you think the market is getting worse but you want to buy if you have extra money. If you realize that buying on a dip is good, then you have to say that the current market conditions are quite good because it has given you the opportunity to buy a number of assets at a low price and it will be in your favor if a recovery occurs.

Unlike some people suggest that traders do not make profits with few months of waiting, that makes no sense to them. They buy and sell daily, multiple times in a day, which means that even a 100 dollar increase is a profit maker for them, or if it is going to just go down then shorting. This has been done by many many people so far, it is a risky business and you may lose a lot of money but in the end you are going to end up with a bit of a profit if you learn how to trade and that's all that matters to them.

If you buy at 20,000 for example and sell at 20,500 then you made a good chunk of profit, and if you do that twice or three times a day then you made a good income for yourself as well.

Traders are interested in the market at the moment when it brings money. Therefore, to think that traders will not pay attention to this is not entirely correct, as for me.

day traders of course they will continue to trade in any market situation. because they do not keep any coins for the long term so they have limited profit and loss limits taken. so that their mentality is already trained. stop loss and take profit on the same day is good for them. for making money for their daily needs.

but for the long term. many also do not leave the market. they use DCA techniques and strategies. they will buy incrementally at the specified support at regular intervals. and indeed in this way the mental is also awake.

Exactly, There are different type of traders and some of them preferred the short term low profit because it's less risky compared to long term holders because they can early exit regardless of loss and profit which they can always avoid big loss when there is a bearish trend while it's  still ok if they missed the big profit opportunity. Consistency is the key for day traders to make there trade successful. I know some of them that doing it wrong and using futures to to have more capital which always result to higher risk of losing.

Apparently yes, they'll do what they think is right and beneficial to them.
Real traders are not holders and they remain in the trading world in any market condition as they'll know even during the bear season there is still a way to make a profit as they use to take advantage of the market volatility. Though is it somewhat risky, however, I think this won't really matter with them as to every change in the market price gives them a chance to earn some.

A trader is not bordered whether the market is bear or bull, all depends on their strategy and how they see the market. Everyone has different method to which they understand the market. The market may look bearish a trader and look like a big opportunity to another trader. Traders doesn't always have the same perspectives most time because everyone read different meanings to the market which makes it looks technical.

Trading has different strategies imbedded in it and what looks right to a particular trader may look weak to the next one. Some traders may prefer price action analysis while others may choose indicator strategies. What works for you in trading may not work for another person.

Each trader has his own strategy and principle, nothing wrong with a trader who cares about the bearish and bullish. I'm also a part of traders who care about them, I will determine my strategy according to the current trend in the market. Also, I will choose coins to trade that suit the current situation, uptrend or downtrend. For example, during the latest big dump, it will be quite safe to choose BTCDOWN, ETHDOWN, or the like. But when there is an uptrend, choose common coins. Just analyze which coins that have a bigger possibility to increase their values.

I don't really actively trade during this bearish. I am busier to consider which coins to buy for a long-term holding.
I prefer to prepare my investment than trade.  Cheesy

He is absolutely correct, despite the market being already in bearish mode, the volatility is still present, so we can still trade and make a profit if we are good at predicting the price movement. These kinds of people who are profitable regardless of the market situation are skillful traders, they learn from their experience and they always see an opportunity in any market situation.

An experienced trader will choose not to stop as a $500-$1,000 increment is already a profit for them. These traders are greedy enough to think about earning more but having just a few bucks is good enough at this bear season as the most important is that they got some rather that wasting their time on nothing not productive. Just to say that despite the market situation whether it was a bear marker or bullish season, many traders are still working knowing that they still have the opportunity.

I'm not, I'm just sure about long term investments. It's much safer for me to do than trading.

I like you prefer long term investment in Bitcoin, which the percentage to make a profit is much larger and has a lower risk. I'm one of those people
who prefer to play it safe than take too big a risk. Moreover, the market seems to be getting worse after Bitcoin fell below $20k, so for me it is
the best option to hold Bitcoin until the market recovers. And if I have extra money, I will buy more Bitcoin, because the current Bitcoin price is very low.
So accumulating Bitcoin is very good to do in bear market conditions.

He's correct but only if he counts future trading as trade activity. If not, I don't see what the big deal about 'real traders' here when the market is in bearish season, most traders get fucked. You've to be quite fearless, fool even to trade actively at this season.
Yes, plenty of traders in this time make profits from future trading, short and long the market if he counts future trading, of course.

-Do you consider this trader correct?
To answer your question, I think it's true mainly because they are able to maximize their trading strategy to make a profit. Usually scalping will be very useful to them during market corrections because there are definitely some good opportunities for profit when traders try to maintain price support. The rapid movement of prices makes them profitable even though the amount really depends on how much capital they have.

Experienced or professional traders already know how to make money and deal with every market situation. The volatility of the market will always be an opportunity for them to earn especially day traders. They're skilled enough to trade regardless of the market season because they have the strategies and they know how to do technical analysis. Trading is too broad and if we will explore it more, we'll be able to see more opportunities on how to gain profit from it.

I think his saying is somewhat true, a successful trader is still able to trade even in a bear market, but this is not easy and needs strong experience and a good strategy, for me the best strategy in a bear market is to trade with only part of the capital and keep the rest a stable coin like USDT , where you buy a coin for $1,000, for example, and sell it when its price goes up a little, and you repeat this process several times a day depending on the market's fluctuation, at the end of the day you convert all your assets into USDT and so on. The next day, the same process was repeated.

Scalpers
Day traders
Long term holders

Are the type or kind of traders who doesn't really care about market condition. Why? Because they could make money on whatever movements or direction on the market that's why it's not really that much of a concern and that's why they don't easily panic but of course being one of these types isn't something that everybody could achieve.
