How do you guys think? Do we need regulations in the crypto world? Should only ICO be regulated or legit coins (not "security tokens") too? Can we implement regulations mechanisms in code so that corrupted governmental institutions couldn't manipulate the industry? Can we still have free market with governments' regulations across the world?

Please, share your thoughts. I'm a bit confused about what's happening right now.
of course we need to have rules and regulations to be followed and obeyed by bitcoin users. If there are rules the bitcoin system will improved and better for bitcoin users if there are rules.
It's complicated , the concept of Bitcoin itself are anonymous , when there's a regulations people wouldn't love the way crypto work anonymously , yeah the interest itself due it's anonymity . Hard to choose which better for us , it's conditional.

We all need regulations in order for us to be organized and be disciplined. Rules and regulations are needed for us to be good followers. Preventing other people to abuse their power and previliges is very important that is why we need rules and regulations. Just like in bitcoin, we should follow one rule for us to succeed in this crypto.
It may remove the true meaning of being anonymous and decentralized in crypto but for now, we really need regulations, it will at least remove us from harm, (take note the at least since it will really be hard even they are regulation to detect those who really want to do against the law) Too many scammers and frauds around so be careful always.

There's no reason to expect that regulation would remove the decentralized nature of crypto. Decentralized doesn't mean "unregulated," it only means that no one person or entity is the sole authority on verifying information in the ledger. Regulation of crypto wouldn't change the fact that the ledger is still decentralized and transparent, allowing anyone to verify information contained within the blockchain themselves, and it wouldn't cause a centralization of the ledger either. It may necessarily reduce anonymity, but that shouldn't affect centralization.

I also think that regulation is necessary, especially for companies, so we avoid scams, at least it would be more difficult.

Yes. Regulations is needed even in a small group because it will shape the groups goal and members will be guided  according to group standard.

What do you mean by being anonymous? This forum may look like you're anonymous or by making transactions you think you're anonymous. But no you're not. As for the blockchain technology, you can be tracked and eventually expose your true identity. If someone has the determination in doing so, that is.

Regulations means centralization, with that the government has total control. Goodbye to volatility, say hello to same old Bank regulations.

Even outside the cryptocurrency there are lot of scammers lurking.

Rules are the foundation in any case. If the rules do not exist then everything will be messy and disorganized I think we need the rules even though the rules are sometimes unprofitable. Therefore we must follow the rules so that everything works well.

We are talking about regulating the cryptocurrency here, not the regulations same as the traditional currencies that we have. If I were to rephrase his statement he's simply asking: If we wanted to let the government regulate the cryptocurrency.

Without the regulations, the disorder would be created and every developer with scammy behavior and some knowledge about programming would try to scam the others. This other would also try to use and squeeze the maximum profit with the hacking techniques. The government is in most cases corrupted and their influence because of the outside factors cannot be stopped.

You're right about the regulations being, needed to be organized and secure. But the government can't handle all that is happening in the cryptocurrency. Even as they might discover certain groups are scams and frauds it may not be inside their country, and besides the internet is freedom, you don't need consent from the government for you to use it. Same as for those criminals, they can make deeds that even the government might not know.

One thing is sure - They cannot take a control of the cryptomarket as much as they are trying because it is regulated in some way to keep the independence of the final users and investors which are supporting the certain coins with their money investments.

Nope there are no regulations.

Yes we need regulation for our safety and security in our every transaction as well as to avoid being scammed. And it's also good cause we will have standard rules and regulations that every bitcoin/cryptos user should follow and for us to be disciplined.

I do believe somehow we still need a regulation that could makes investing in cryptocurrency more secure. With a good regulation i do believe cryptocurrency would be more freely developing and it will attract more people into it.
Yes, all of us really need to have this regulation of bitcoin as this is the only thing which can help us in having more awareness amongst the people and that the people who will then be knowing about bitcoin will also be able to invest their money into and will then be able to have better earnings as well. In addition to this, this will also bring up the fame and reputation of bitcoin in much better way.

As more crypto users around the world and more countries are still banning bitcoins from being used, we should need regulation on crypto users, this rule only aims to have the right legal umbrella, so that crypto and bitcoin users will be clear about their existence and not always viewed negatively by the layman.

I'm very sympathetic to ICO's regulatory framework, because I'm tired of people fleeing fraud.

Only bitcoins can be legally tendered through the government, and bitcoin can be trusted and regulated, which will encourage those who are afraid to invest in it.

The best solution would be some kind of industry organisation, a foundation by of the different blockchain teams, large and successful ICO companies and academics from the universities.
Government regulation is often ham-fisted in execution and biased by ideological beliefs as well as different between countries when the blochchain technology is global and decentralized.
If the blockchain world could organize some kind effort to sanitize itself it would be for the best.

It isn't wise to expect the industry to police itself. The fact that such an industry group hasn't naturally arisen suggests that the people involved in this industry aren't so inclined. But it would be a mistake to expect them to self-police the issues that are causing people to raise the point that they should be regulated. Things that need to be regulated are so because they can't be trusted to act appropriately, otherwise there would be no call for regulation in the first place.
