I agree with the death penalty. This will help to bring order to the planet and make people be more law-abiding. The fear of death will stop many murders and rapes.
I totally agree on this. Justice must be swift! Death penalty should be imposed on heinious crimes like rape, murder and drugs! People are blinded on the grounds of human rights.if you look in the other side, did these perpetrators actually considered human rights before they have consummated the crime? I guess not! So don't give me a reason based on human rights. After all, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth!
I think life imprisonment is better solution than death penalty, but sometimes court has to give death penalty for serious crimes like rape.
No, because those who has been given the death penalty should suffer for their sins and should not get away by the use of death. They should pay their sins by being in the cell for the rest of their lives..
I agree to use the death penalty only for those who killed a person. In other cases it is necessary to apply more severe punishments besides imprisonment.

Death penalty is a law that aims to kill people who commits and do massive crime to some innocent people. I agree in death penalty as long as it is used properly and only give to the people who commits crimes. But government should not use it for fun because life of a person is very important.

Personally, I think those who are given the "death penalty," are being let off too easily in a sense. I believe they should be forced to do harsh labor work. That way you don't run into the "religious" issues, and these people will actually suffer for whatever they have done to deserve the "death penalty."
@Sithara007 - Actually buidling more jails is not the way to go. I watched a guy talking on TED about the whole system and he pointed out how much is going wrong in US prisons. Germany in contrast has one of the best systems, where prisoners that just commit some small crime, are reintegrated into society very quickly. They can leave prison during the day + they have their own cells.

German prison system is a joke. People who are convicted for rape rarely gets more than 6 months in jail and even during this time, they have access to Xbox, TV.etc. For the criminals, going to jail is just like a paid vacation sponsored by the tax payers. Actually, this kind of sentencing encourages the criminals to commit even more crimes.
Well, not really. Statistically there is no raise in criminality in Germany. Doing it that way apparently helps integrating the people back into society.
But I understand why you are salty about it ... like I said, I like the eye for an eye principle.
How about if innocent being killed because he/she are poor? Did you agree? If he/she might killed because the lawyer he/she can get is low quality? Human rights do forget because of death penalty.

I don't agree with death penalty. We are not God to take someone's life. Let the law show the justice.
Death penalty should be brought back in the justice system only for those crimes related to Murder, Rape, Robbery and Drugs. This is a way for criminals to think twice of their plans and criminal acts.
I agree with you. Death penalty should bring back in the justice because nowadays, many crimes are being relevant and they are killing many innocent people. But if death penalty was implemented, it should only give to those people who commits massive crime and not to people who are inmocent. So i agree in death penalty.

I believe that the death penalty will help to avoid many crimes due to the fact that people start to fear being deprived of life. The prison does not solve the problems of crime at all.

Death penalty is not a solution for jail over-crowding. Removing one or two inmates don't make the jails more comfortable. The only solution is to build more jails where more prisoners can be accommodated. Also, death row inmates remain in jail for up to 30 years, before the execution is carried out.

To sentence someone to death is the best way to prevent recidivism. There have been countless incidents where inmates killed other inmates or correctional officers while in prison. Some inmates even escape from prison. For the most part prison is hell, however, they do get fed everyday, free medicare, free time in the gym or yard, and they get other privileges such as TV for good behavior.
