for beginner, i'm recomended they're for investing in top altcoin major on coinmarketcap, because this coin trsuted than other altcoin/token on market especially top 10 altcoin, but for trading in short term i'm prefered to trading in lowest altcoin price
actually, investing in top altcoins are much safer than other altcoins when they have higher position and get more trust from the investors, however the profit can be small and the price is under control, so anyone want to have much higher profit will invest in not top altcoins.
Top cryptocurrencies will stay stronger in blood bath market times but the situation will be a bit different for weak projects that have no clue about token reliability and working product.
Indeed the top rank coins are more able to survive and produce results, but I don't see from one side, because there are still many coins that are not in the top rank but are worthy to get better results.
I invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum, i think both are the best investments for the long term.

Try to look on what the coin is all about and check on trading if this is has a stable price, also check on the develepor if this is has no negative trust or bad records.

Investing in top coins is more secure or less risk to lose more of your investment so that's why I invested most of my coins who in the rank or in the top coins. But not all because I have some coin that in low rank because I do research on them and I see some potential and maybe those some potential will become big only need is improvement and discovery of the traders to know the coins what is coins is good to invest in low rank.

It depends on each individual investor. If you don’t want to risk too much, buy the biggest coins. If you are not afraid of risk, then there is a huge selection of assets. I think the best is a balanced portfolio. At different times it may be a portfolio with different composition.
Exactly, people who don't have much experience towards trading can start investing in potential coins in the market because we don't know how far the other coins will work but those coins are already created good trademark in the market. So it is good to invest in top-ranked coin people who don't have experience in trading.

Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

In one way what you've mentioned is true, for long term it is good to invest on projects with good utility unlike its ranking. For me it is top listed coins, because those are already proven in the market. For increased priced asset I prefer with btc, Eth and bch. For small priced investment ada, waves, tron, etc

I usually consider some factors to accomplish in projects already consolidated! Usually when I seek more tranquility or even some protection for my BTC value to keep or even increase with calm and tranquility! But there is no other way for you to increase your BTC while not being ALT or even Shitcoins, it's risky but there is no other way more accessible. I'm not a miner and I don't intend to develop something fantastic to get BTC.

Not always but i usually invest on top 10 coins/tokens but not all coins, only some coins.
I also invest on altcoins below top 10 that i think have a good future like dogecoin. There are some good coins too to invest beside of top ranked coins.
I think you don't have knowledge in crypto trading because top 10 altcoins are good to hold for longterm But short term and day trading was impossible to make good profit. I suggest to top trending tokens because this makes huge profit to me. I also invest on altcoins below top 10 that i think have a good future like dogecoin.
