yes, i do believe in news if it is comes a trusted source. if it  is some kind of hoax, how could you tell that the news is true or it just an opinion or a sort of publication. news for me is an instrument to send or spread an ideas or current politics, current event, market stock and foreign exchange, wether forecast, business, currency and economic stability. news gives the people and the entire nation an information regarding to what is going on in the certain country and to the world.

so that they are aware or we are aware to what is happening in our surroundings.

The media in capitalist countries are independent, they can write what they want to write, some countries are not, and some state media bend over the government's interests. I don't think these media are independent at all. It depends on the money! Who has paid a lot!

Or do you think media is independent ?

I read news from any media, but I won't believe them for granted. I don't believe that they are independent. They are driven by others' interests, even by their own commercial interest. I will be objective by reading some versions of news to judge the truth carefully, because most of them are bias in publishing news.

No one mass-media can not be completely independent. There work ordinary people who are exposed pressure from government or take bribes or have a prejudiced opinion.

Yes i still do believe in the news, there are plenty of reliable and dependable sources of authentic news.
There are also plenty of choices on choosing platforms for receiving news and updates today. With today's
communication and technology, access is fast and quick. Be cautious though of fake news, that seems to be
the only issue in terms of authenticity.

Almost news are fake and under control by a group to benefit themselves

correct! fake news is now rampant and easily absorb by the ignorant people and adding some rumor and giving some negative comment that doesn't help with our economic status.

Most news stations, especially now, tend to exaggerate their stories, and I think something on the Internet can be trusted, at least on television.

I think you're right, even those simple issues turned to be like a serious problem even though it doesn't really help to contribute in the community or in a society, the negative issues are always emphasized and the biased news could easily seen.

I usually do, I know it's biased however. But I also know how to see through that bias. I read news from different (independent) news outlets from 3-4 different countries, when in doubt - I double & triple check sources.
