It's not a crucial factor, but it definitely plays a big role.

Appearance can play a role in business and employment, as it can create a first impression. While it's important to dress appropriately for the job or industry, it's also important to focus on skills and qualifications. Ultimately, it's a balance between professionalism and personal expression.

I work from the home office, so that's absolutely not important for me.

I also think that appearance means a lot when it comes to business and employment. From my own experience, I can say that the first impression plays a big role. When I have a business meeting, I usually wear official dresses. Actually, they make me feel more confident.

In the case of employment looking like the job you want to get employed for can give you an advantage. If you turn up for an official job looking like a rockstar, you have of course reduced your chances of getting the job if it was you want. If it was a job where the staffs dress freely because of it's unofficial nature, then appearance may not matter when you are being interviewed for a job. Dress and appear like the position you want.

They say dress how you want to be addressed and this is the truth.
Also, they said when in Rome, dress like the Romans or something like that.
While some organizations emphasize that one must be formally dressed for an interview, some other organization say tech do not have any hard or fast rule to it.
If I were a hiring manager, I would definitely consider dressing in my hiring decision if it is stated in the interview invite. It tells about the personality of the potential employee.

It is key to maintaining your appearance in business and employment. The way you dress shows the type of person you are. It can show your confidence and how productive you can be. 

Know that there are dress codes for work for every environment there are four types: Business formal, Business Casual, Casual, Uniforms. Not just the dress codes there are regardless of the environment, remember that the upkeep of making sure your clothes are clean and not wrinkly, this shows how neat and tidy a person can be. Remember that not just your clothes are important, there is making sure that you are groomed.

Appearance, attitude, and style of speaking in good mastery are perfect aspects when we are going to face a potential boss. At least that reflects the seriousness as you say. A neat appearance shows that the person is serious in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, and prioritizing rules. Attitude means that he knows who he is dealing with and this behavior is the most important thing, politeness shows authority. Speech style means that he knows what is being discussed according to his capacity and in accordance with the field that the client wants. Coupled with qualified knowledge, it gives plus points that he will easily communicate with anyone.

Appearance is the most important thing that is the first concern, when we have a neat appearance it will make other people believe, especially if we work as marketing then appearance is the main thing because consumers will judge from appearance, if we fail on appearance then we will hard to convince others.

When it comes to business, appearance and demeanor play an important role. however, you have to adjust your appearance to the job you want and the same goes for when you are doing business with clients or with investors. this aims to show how important appearance is to become a successful businessman. because when running a business you have to serve clients, build networks, strengthen relationships, and be a leader, appearance and demeanor are aspects that are as important as business skills.

Even though not everyone has business instincts like successful business leaders, we are all capable of showing our best. but not only appearance, skills and abilities are part of the factors that are equally important.

In work, the requirement to look attractive is not to see how beautiful or handsome the candidate is. but to see the seriousness of job applicants. if the job applicant tries to look attractive, dress neatly and so on during the interview. then it proves that the job applicant has tried to give a good impression of appearance.

it's different if when you dress according to your wishes with a disheveled appearance, surely the employer will think you are not intending to and are not serious. related to the points you convey, it all depends on each individual.
and for point 6, at least he must try to look neat and have a good attitude. then he can show his skills and qualities during the interview session.

That's right, people are willing to do anything for their appearance, now is the era of social media so everyone has to appear convincing, especially the support for the ease of finding clothes or fashion in online applications so that making attractive appearances even easier.

Appearance is the first key for us to be accepted or rejected, many people think that appearance must be expensive for example using shirts, shoes, pants, watches and so on with expensive value, but I think the most important thing is to adjust the appearance to the place or condition we are doing

The appearance is the first thing to determine if one is qualified for the job or not. No company or business firm would employ someone that his/her appearance looks rough. Every organisation,  company are looking responsible workers that can help it to grow. Looking at one who is seeking for job and the appearance is not bad then it can considered that the person is responsible. Their are so many thoughts about a person that the appearance is not attractive.  Good appearance speaks more of good things.

I disagree highly with this and to think appearance being "equally" important? No way. I just believe that Steve Jobs wasn't wearing a suit and a tie when he wasn't leader neither, and according to movies we saw him, dude didn't even care about his personal hygiene and that’s at the bare bottom, okay maybe take a shower, that’s personally important too lol.

So, what I am trying to say is that, if a person is good, they are good, and what they wear or how they look will have absolutely 0% importance, and I do not mean even a slight bit, literally not even 1% matter, ZERO matter, it's unimportant. What they can do for the company is the key here, because if they do make you money, then you cannot fire a profitable worker for their looks, you possibly can but that would be idiotic.

Right now I am not working and trying to submit a lot of job applications, fortunately at this time most companies only accept online applications so that prospective workers come for interviews, and the most important thing is the appearance so that I am very concerned with appearance.

I agree that performance at work is a primary concern, but I still want to emphasize that appearance is equally important. You can't compare with top talent like Steve Jobs and he's already a leader so he can wear whatever he wants but for us just employees or ordinary business people, it's completely different. Today, when life becomes modern, people pay great attention to the outside appearance, it can be said that it is the first measure for others to judge us.

I agree with you that we don't always have to wear business suits or expensive suits, but at least we should dress appropriately and politely for each situation.

Well, I believe the quality of your work is all that matters than wearing high class suits. However, if you are an employee of a big and popular company where wearing appropriate dress is highly required, then you have no choice but to comply with it. Otherwise, you’ll always be reprimanded because of not following the company’s rules.

But definitely, it’s always better to dress properly whether it’s required or not because that will also help you gain respect from others seeing you’re in a presentable appearance. Although I have not experienced this because our company always require to wear our uniform, but in other companies that i come to see, it’s always a good impression to dressed well when you come to work and always wear with a smile too.

So, those first appearances, you have to impress the person you talk with. Like for trying to get a job, the interviewer. It's common to have a dress code and you need to be at good appearance to impress them. Although, there are interviewers that don't look at the dress code and appearance but more of the skills you have that's appropriate to the position.

But, most of them which is the reality are looking on its importance.

Although it might seem so, but appearances do matter in making a public opinion.

A well known businessman coming in a lambo while another one walking to their office because the left the car somewhere away in parking makes the people think the first one to be a bigger businessman than the second. You have to understand that public only looks at the snapshot image and not the big picture that is why they can be fooled easily. This is also the reason how scammers hide in good looks.
