Most people will see that the brain contents are in accordance with the appearance, of course this is a natural thing because of the appearance like magic that can make anyone deceived, for us of course we must be careful and do not be lulled by appearance, because it is proven that appearance is often different from reality.
Appearance is always considered in a product that the company wants to market or sell to the public. Because without attractive packaging and a better appearance, the product will be very rarely in demand or sell well in the market.

But it's different with a project or a certain person who also polishes his appearance as attractive as possible so that he invites more attention and interest from many people to join. Of course something like that must be very careful and must continue to be analyzed in depth so that we can find out the accurate evidence that is in it.

Depending on what kind of appearance we are referring to. If physical appearance (beauty/handsome) is not really necessary especially if you are in operational field like in in factory producing different products, that most probably hiding their face in mask (for hygiene and protection). If  and individual are in the field where you need to to showcase your beauty, then its needed. But overall, i thinks its not necessary to have a very distinct physical appearance, but having a decent, organize appearance (in clothing, hygiene, etc.) is needed for ones business and employment.

I never truly believed this, it just doesn't make sense. I mean if you are a great worker, do you really need to look good as well? Look at Steve Jobs, dude wore a jean, a turtleneck and a new balance shoe and made billions of dollars selling products that wasn't even his.

That is why I believe that it’s not really important to look like a businessman, not everyone needs a big business suit like three piece or something, that just doesn't make sense, sure look clean, nobody would like to work with someone who smells and has odour coming from both them and their clothes, but at the end of the day it’s not going to be really that much of a big deal what you wear.
If you are an extremely talented and famous person like Steve Jobs or CZ or even Vitalik Buterin, your style still attracts a lot of people but they will not be able to comment or judge you because you are more talented and brave than them. But if you are just a normal business person or do jobs that have to communicate a lot, meet customers, partners... then the way you dress will affect your work somewhat. Just looking at the appearance can not fully assess a person's character and ability, but it will show your respect for the other person.

It is good to look nice and attractive but looking down on people that you feel are not well dressed might not be the best option.
Don't judge people by their outward appearance, maybe behind someone's outward appearance that looks normal, there are many advantages in them. For me this is a moral message, don't judge a book by its cover.
Appearance is a reflection of one's personality. Now try to reflect on yourself, how other people see the way you look. Dressing neatly is a form of self love, this can be seen from the outside through your appearance, including the way you dress.

I imagine this would be a requirement of the job itself. Appearance is an essential element in everything related to human communication. If you work in the field of sports, it is better to be an athlete in order to be more convincing to the group.
If we take into account the relative specificity of the concept of beauty, then the appropriate appearance must be present in every place. However, bearing in mind that the construction worker will have a decent appearance with clothes that confirm his profession better than a uniform that imparts a mysterious symbolism.
There are many academic investigations that study the influence of appearance in business. Almost all of them emphasize its importance.
If ethical issues are concerned, ofcourse. It is a sense of professionalism. To some, appearance has something to do with performance but it would really emphasize work ethics or even boost employee's sense of workload and task related concerns. But I disagree with discrimination concerning employee's uniform. At the same time, indeed it would boost one's confidence to perform his/her job. If it is employment which is concerned, it would be a plus ofcourse to recruitment team because putting effort with your attire means devotion with one's work and goal, so it would really play a huge role with employee's character.
In all handicrafts or that require physical effort, clothing is considered part of the work process because it is supposed to be comfortable and appropriate to the nature of the work in addition to its protective function and symbolism through its colors and labels on it. Persons responsible for human resources in most companies attach importance to the appearance of employees, as it reflects the level of the company in which they work.
With regard to administrative jobs, it may not have the same importance because it carries aesthetic importance and prestige, and its change will not affect work or productivity.

But in todays era or society then there would be lots of people who are really that are easy to judge on the way you dress, without even knowing you yet then they could really make out those conclusions

or bad impressions basing on what you do look and on the time that there are things that they do discover behind that man then this is where it changes up.

First impression does really last until they would see that dude that they've been frowning upon is someone whose better on different ways.
I agree into the point that its enough on making yourself to be clean but not totally be extravagant on how you do show yourself into the public.

When you start to go into the business world, the main thing to look at is the neatness of your appearance. There you will find meeting sessions with clients and decide on the terms of cooperation that you agree on. Many people think that appearance will give good results at the beginning of the meeting. This is applies if you work in an office and choose the path of diplomacy with business partners.
However, when you choose to work in the field and keep the office system running well, your appearance will only be demanded to the point of tidiness. Conversely, when you wear clothes that are neat, clean and smell good, it will create an impression of confidence when conducting open or closed meeting sessions, the office world will always demand neatness in dresses.

However, appearance often deceives someone in doing work, because not necessarily those who dress neatly are able to work according to the needs of the business or office where they work.

the appearance is your First pass filter.

second pass filter is doing some research

third pass is talking to them.

People being fooled by first pass filter and failing to proceed to second and third pass In No Way changed the Value of the first pass filter.

Appearance is the representation of discipline good or bad.     a bad presentation is a good filter to pay attention to simply due to the fact that it represents a lack of discipline.

Yes, I consider appearance to be important. Psychologically, when you dress well other people automatically perceive you as more successful, trustworthy, more sociable, more competent, and happy. In fact, just by dressing well, you can get your foot in the door of any organization because you would have made a good first impression. In addition, when you dress well, you are more likely to get hired, close a deal.
Most likely, that’s the case. People get well dressed for positive impression. However, it’s not only appearance that will create a big difference, but also on how you deal and interact with the people around you. You get addressed not only by your appearance, but definitely on how you build your character too on the people that you get to deal with.

For those types of jobs like customer support, chat support, and any other jobs that don't require to have a face to face interaction with customers. I'm sure that the company isn't strict with that policy of dress codes. But for your first appearance to that company as you take an interview, you have to impress them on how decent you are and that's part of your investment in yourself as you try to get a job from them. But what will be gone to you if you dress properly whether you're employed, a businessman or just a normal human being?

Yes, it matters A LOT, especially if you are in a client-facing role then the way you dress will also tell how the clients will address you. Also, it helps in establishing that you are someone they can trust because you care enough to dress well for your job. But if you are working a job that does not require you to talk to any clients at all, then it's okay if you just wear whatever feels comfortable for you so long as you do not disobey your office's dress code. Luckily, I'm employed in a place wherein people won't care about how you dress so long as you get the job done when they need it.
Being dressed according to your job description will definitely matter especially if your workplace is strictly following dress code based on your position. Especially if you are the one in charge in meeting new clients, you should always create good impression on your clients and being well dressed is one way to help you achieve your goal.
It will all depends on the company on what type of uniform are you allowed to use. I believe that most of the companies now especially on the corporate side doesn't require their employees anymore to have their uniform worn, Casual is ok as long as it's presentable. Appearances do matter on other type of work just like @dothebeats said, If it's a client-facing role it is important to dress up according to the type of meeting or transaction. If we are applying to work, being presentable is always a plus point to the hiring officer. We don't want to be judge on how presentable we are during an interview knowing that there are some hiring officers who are fond of first impressions.

You are kind of right here. You shouldn't just look at appearance and start judging. Things might look all flashy and great, but that doesn't mean it is a legitimate business. Like you said, scammers will hide behind those appearance, gain users trust, and then in the long run end up scamming everyone without anyone noticing. But still it's not always true. You should be doing your own research about the business and the people involved with the business before collaborating with them or anything.
Adding up to what I previously mentioned in here and speaking of scammers, there are those scammers that even own plenty of buildings around their vicinity. If you watch scam busters like Jim Browning, you will find out that those scums looked really rich in their business attire.

If there was no such norms in the professional industry, then there would not be such thing as judging people by their attire and all those stuffs about being professional.

This kind of reminds me of the quote of...

2. Scammers and criminals hide behind attractive appearances : To deceive people, some criminals dress presentably because they want to divert the attention of their targets. In my location, most Ponzi scheme operators always dress corporately at all times, just to give the people the feeling that their funds are in the custody of responsible persons.

This feeling often comes to me when I see very elegant people in elegant and attractive clothes, I feel that they wear this dress to hide their false and deceptive reality. Of course, not all elegant people are necessarily deceptive, but most fraudsters care about their external appearance.
Personally, I do not think that an overly elegant and decent dress is necessary for work, especially for men, as for women, it is necessary to take good care of their external appearance.
Also, this depends on the type of work. In work that requires receiving customers and dealing directly with people, employees inevitably need to wear decent clothes, as for other jobs that require doing some muscular effort, it is never appropriate to wear such clothes.

Appearance makes a huge difference in any business environment where you meet face to face with clients or your boss. I worked in finance and real estate and noticed that people dress differently there. Anything related to finance always meant to wear a black or dark blue suit with a tie. Everybody was looking similar and nobody would have thought to not come dressed up, you would stand out in a bad way. In real estate everything was much more relaxed and casual, only for meetings with the lawyers people would dress up. In my opinion it makes you seem more professional and we should use good clothes for our advantage. Even now where so many meetings are done with zoom I think it's good to wear a white or light blue shirt. No need for a suit or a tie, but a shirt makes a big difference and is not so expensive to buy.

It is all about being presentable.  In job seeking you need to be presentable and neat.  The first impression does have an effect on employment.  Besides, employees have to interact with other people so they need to be really presentable and look neat.  Between two skilled applicants, the one with a pleasing personality and presentable will always be the choice.  I think only naive people will think that it is ok to have skill only and lack personal presentation.

Well, appearance is really a plus in job seeking, first impressions could lead you to be hired, but this only works on those jobs like sales, office jobs, bank jobs, and any other job where you are usually interacting with customers; however, that is not the case for programmers. You said that people are naive to think it is ok to have only skills, but as a programmer, usually the CEO or the senior programmer will be interviewing you, so your fancy suits are useless when you don't have skills. They don't look at appearance because the nerdy guy is more likely to be hired because they have more skills.

It all depends on the job. Some jobs will require us to acquire pleasing personalities because being presentable is necessary for the company to attract more clients in customers. Some jobs will look after your skills and ability over your appearance. Those jobs won't require you to wear formal attire just to look pleasing since you won't have to appear physically in front of your clients. Most of these jobs are those who are working in back offices and doing freelancing.
